Definitely DO NOT spray IPA or any other cleaning agent onto the rods, spray onto a cloth and then wipe. Spraying in the enclosure results in covering the belts (rubber and alcohol don't mix, will dry out and crack), covering the linear Y rods and removing all the grease from inside which you can't repack, spraying onto the rods is terrible advice unfortunately. Follow Bambu's maintenance guides to prevent damaging your machine. Also probably best not to use oil on the lead screws, oil can run down the screw and into the stepper motor below (very bad), again there is a reason why Bambu specify grease and not oil 😵💫
Yeah, there's a lot of bad advice in this video. Clearly not made by someone who knows how it's supposed to be done. Also... using compressed air to clean a machine? Really not done. This will only blow dirt into the small crevices, making the risk of jams bigger.
To be fair, the official rod cleaning video published by Bambu Lab's youtube channel had them spraying alcohol on the rods. Not that I'd ever think or want to pour isopropyl into a spray bottle.
A few suggestions, do the cleaning of fans and extruder before other maintenance. This will avoid getting crap on your newely cleaned and lubricated z rods, camera, fiber rods, etc. just makes sense, rough messy stuff always first. Appreciate your video, just reorient the sequence of steps.
Is spraying a solvent on the rails and then running the linear bearings on them over that cleaner really a good idea? I feel like that's a great way to take whatever's on the rails and put it in the bearings.
Good video..but quit using regular paper towel!! That is leaving fibres behind. Use Blue shop towels or a microfiber cloth instead. Otherwise you are just adding to the problem of leaving bits behind on your rods and lead screws
Great advice! I used it because that is what most people have laying around. But if you look at the description, I linked the blue shop shop towels! :)

Hello. I have 1 question about Bambu Studios - maybe you will be able to help me. I was trying to add a simple, plain circle to Bambu Studios to print a coin but in bugger size (10cm diameter). And when I upload the .svg file to Slicer I can see that the edge of the coin is not fully rounded - you can see the small walls that make up the circle. I tried uploading few different circle .svg files that are 100% circles and in Bambiu Slicer the walls & small edges appear. The question is: Is this normal that the Slicer shows these walls and not fully plain edge of the circle - but it will print it as a plain circle? Or should I do some editing within the slicer to make it disappear? Sorry to ask, my printer will come in a month from now and Im already trying to get some first models done and learn some about Bambu Slicer. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year! :)
To be honest, I've never added a SVG to the slicer and try to print it. Also I'm terrible at modeling lol If you don't use a modeling software already, you could try tinkercad. This might help with your designs. ua-cam.com/video/bVQBZArIt34/v-deo.htmlsi=f7JGvCspMebdLJO6

I am interested in your extruder component with the clear (PC?) plastic, mine is 100% opaque. Was the translucent version an older model or an aftermarket part? I recently clogged a .4 CHT nozzle because I had it doing very rapid repeated retractions on the first few layers of the Open Ball vise when I printed the ball upside-down; I think the translucent extruder body could have helped me see what was going on to diagnose the issue
What can I do if my P1S is kind of crashing when its printing on the corners? One time the hotend front end plastic fell off from the impact while printing on one corner 😢

What is the setting on a P1S to do the self test?

Yes. Be more careful about getting some on the belts when cleaning carbon rods. Ipa deteriorates them
I wouldn’t clean the lens with IPA. Ethilic alcohol 70% like that for medical use is perfect. Does not damage anyting and cleans perfectly.
An optician in the comments said not to use IPA on the lenses as it will remove their protective coatings.

This is my first printer and I have a learned a lot with it but I feel like there’s a lot a could do to make my prints even better. It would be awesome to get some pointers and tips from someone who has experience.
👋 Hey Dave! Shoot me an email and we can chat! Go Bucks!
@@TheEdgeofTech you're in Milwaukee? Me too!
Where did you get the clear extruder? Thank you!
The X1C I filmed with was the very first one they sent me in May. I think the serial number is like 6.. LOL So the production units used a little different parts that weren't clear. My other 2 are not clear as well.
@The Edge of Tech thanks for the reply. Just after I posted the comment, I thought maybe it was a kick starter model. Thanks for your reply!
Salut, super vidéo !
j'ai une vis du plateau qui était complètement dévissé mais je ne sait pas si le serrage dois être précis ? Doit ton vérifier le niveau lors du serrage ? Avez vous avez des informations sur se sujet ?
you're awesome dude! thanks!
