I love tractor drawn aerials! Maybe because in my 48+ years as firefighter/EMT, that’s the one truck I never got to ride or drive. Those trucks are the bad boy of USA fire service!

Man if money wasn't an issue id buy a fleet of old macks and seagraves and thhat be awesome I just love the mack from riding in the doghouse and seagraves always have been really cool designs thanks for posting this great video from an old hose jockey who misses the smoke lol

I still, to this day, did not see anything wrong with Maplewood's engine. Honestly, even if they are a busy company, the engine is still in an almost pristine shape. Yes, they know how to take care of their apparatus and all, but there really isn't much difference between the two. If I had to guess, I'd say it was an excuse to use federal grant money. I've seen apparatus on here that were in dire need of being replaced, and well deserved it too.
Steven Pivornik Not true at all, as you stated Engine 32 is one of the busiest Engine companies around when it comes to actual working fires and their apparatus was nearing ten years old, and Engine 33 twenty years. So it made perfect sense for them to get a new engine and give it to 32. As you stated the former Engine 32 has some time left, Which is why it was reassigned to E33 that way not one but two companies get a newer apparatus
E 32 is always running to Irvington a lot too

I'm used to being around fire departments that have hung on to their pieces for like 25+ years and still running like they've just gotten them yesterday. My father belonged to Dover and they were still running a I believe it was a 67 or 69 mid-mount LaFrance, refurbed sometime down the road, and retired finally in 2003.

Not sure what it is but the old trucks will always beat the newer ones. Sure the new ones are really cool and fancy but something about the old halogen wig wags, rotators and beacons with the growl of the 2 stroke diesel with every break and gas pedal use just...brings a true sense of pride, respect, tradition and the true feeling of "help is coming" al9ng with that soothing sound of the engine popping to a stop for that grandmother who fell or that 1 fire that trumps all others. Its just a true message that old trucks send almost like a last hoorah to the ones who made it all possible.
When you stop and think about all the effort that went into this film - over the span of years - it's a really impressive feat. This guy just doesn't stand around on a corner and get lucky, this takes planning and knowledge of all the local fire departments and their apparatus. Well done!
some of these "old engines" are like 7 years old lol. If it has those obnoxious overkill LED lights, then it ain't an old piece geniuses. lmao
Michael Patanella old was used to refer to the past apparatus that has since been replaced not the trucks age.

As a firefighter who has operated with various apparatus including an old spare that had to be placed in neutral with park brake applied then engage the pump PTO to put water on fire. Engine was a two ton with single tire drive axle. Pouce Coupe BC was the department that had this engine.

Sure a lot of officers on these trucks and engines that really love sounding like a police car. How bout, ya search for the peddle that's already at your feet and it connects to this really neat thing called a "Q2 siren." Are ya'll afraid to or what? Sound like a fire truck, so people can start being aware and looking for a FIRE truck. Those wail, yelp and hi-lo are sirens are SECONDARY; in addition to the Q2. They were never invented to be the main siren on any fire apparatus.

Amazing how many fire depts switched to Pierce for new apparatus. They must be #1 followed by E-ONE, Spartan, Ferrara, Seagrave and others.
There are many Pierce Apparatus here in NJ, although more E ones and spartans are starting to pop up
