- We completed the installation of this turbo kit literally the day before the semester started. Thank god it worked! After a whole semester of driving it around we can happily say that there are NO issues.
Hopefully this video helps you avoid some of the mistakes we made along the way and just make the overall installation process easier. If you have any questions let us know and we'll do our best to answer them!

Haha this old school dude is great. Super thorough and love how he explains everything.
I need the upgraded radiator fans ! Other than that , loving the kit so far.
Same, haven't had any issues with it so far!
Any plans on a follow up video on how she is running? Great vid BTW.
Why thank you! Yeah we do plan on making a follow up video on the FRS once we're done working on the GTR. No problems as a daily driver since the install.
Im having issues moving that 90 degree fitting on the oil drain line. Did you guys have to use a vice?
No we were able to turn it by hand, it's very difficult to turn but you should be able to do it.
Why not run hard lines for water underneath.
Good content, I have a BRZ and I was wondering why you chose the K&N oil filter?
Thank you! There wasn't really any preference for the oil filter we just saw it at our local auto parts store and put it on. We needed a new oil filter at the time anyway and K&N has been pretty trustworthy in the past so we just went with it. No issues with the car since the install.
@@MaasMotorsports Oh ok, thanks for the reply
@@saulespino2510 yeah of course no problem!
You sanded down the opening for the maf sensor and all the tiny metal shavings went down into your intake pipe...so now you're going to be sending all of that into your engine? Please tell me you're going to remove that charge pipe and clean the inside before first start 🤔😩
Yeah we took care of that, we had a polishing cloth in there and vacuumed it out before moving the cloth. Nothing was in there afterward.
Did you install the boost tune to your car after installing the turbo?
Absolutely that’s a must, we got our tune from Delicious Tuning and we loaded it before starting the car.
@@MaasMotorsports how about the wastegate? How many lines did you use and where are the line goes? Cuz I don’t know where to put the lines and I don’t have a boost controller
@@MrJ-bv5kq The BOV has springs in it that allow the pressure to escape at a certain psi, changing those springs allows you to change the boost pressure. With a mostly stock engine you want to stick with the standard springs already installed (should be around 8-10 pounds of boost). The only line attached to the BOV is the vacuum line that extends back to the vacuum for the brake booster. You can see that at minute 26 of this video ua-cam.com/video/OFdAmzJCIck/v-deo.html
I’m talking about the wastegate by the header and manifold. Those two air lines where they goes. I know the one goes to turbo. Other one ua-cam.com/video/ZzK4iMertsk/v-deo.html
@@MrJ-bv5kq ahhh okay, kinda hard to see without it being on a lift but after thinking this over for a few days I actually do remember what we did. That second line can dump into the exhaust so it’s quieter, we just left it. I wish I could give you a for-sure answer I just can’t get this car on the lift rn to check, but I’m 90% certain that’s it.
why would you want oil returning into the intake from the crank case hose? put a little breather at the end of that crank case hose and call it a day
The proper way to do this is to install an air-oil separator or an oil catchcan but since I had to drive it to school the following week we didn't have enough time for that. Will be installing the Radium AOS when I get around to it and I'll make a video on that as well. Other projects have kept me from working on the FR-S, but once things clear up I'll install the new parts.
@@MaasMotorsports sounds good! Any future plans for a built block?
@@tbonecelica I'm actually planning an engine swap, most likely an LS3! But I'm going to track it with the turbo'd FA20 for awhile first. Got some performance mods to install like an oil cooler, aos, brakes, etc. for the current setup and when I'm ready to go all in I'll gut it and make it a full blown "race car". You got any builds going on currently?
@@MaasMotorsports yeah my 86 has been boosted for about 50k miles on e85 tuned by delicious . Has been so reliable my ig is @_17_86
@@tbonecelica nice! I got tuned by them too, haven’t had a single issue. These cars seem to be really reliable if you take good care of them
Can you guys turbo my Scion FR-S ?
We’re not an actual shop we just work on our own cars in our free time
@@MaasMotorsports awe man , I really thought I found a shop that will turbo my frs :( do you guys maybe know a shop ?
@@lordsovl6006 I’m not sure where u live but if you’re in Vegas I heard Kaiju Motorsports is good for turbo installs on our platform
