FR-S Trackspec Hood Vent Install
These vents by Trackspec are a great way to let the hot air escape your engine bay without compromising the structural integrity of the hood. After having them on for a few months I can attest that they perform just as good as they look. If you're interested in purchasing these for your car I'll leave the link down below.

GTR Liberty Walk Rep Kit (FINAL FITMENT)
Переглядів 2 тис.3 роки тому
In all honesty, this widebody kit has been a real headache. While we saved a lot of money in buying a rep kit, we ended up having to spend a lot more time getting it to fit correctly. This level of fabrication isn't for everyone but if you have the time and want to save some money through DIY then go for it! It looks amazing now and we can't wait to get it painted. FRS Carbon Paddle Shifters (Full OEM Replacement)
Переглядів 1 тис.3 роки тому
Purchased from Carbonful, these paddle shifters have been covered in carbon fiber and will be the finishing touch of carbon for my interior. These are full replacements for the OEM paddle shifters so they still retain the same feel as the original ones. They look way better than the silver trim in my opinion and I'm glad I bought them. Now it's back to the performance mods for this one.
2021 Update: What we have planned for our builds (GTR, FR-S, and more)!
Переглядів 4033 роки тому
We didn't get to work on our builds as much as we would've liked to in 2020. But that hasn't stopped us from planning ahead as 2021 will be a much more productive year in our shop. We're going to finish the GTR build, prep the FR-S for the track, and get started on our classic car restorations. Looking forward to seeing these builds take shape over the course of the year!

66" or 74"?
And the brake light? 🤔
Loved this vid
That is one great video Thank you. Shep is one great fellow any time i have asked for assistance he always obliges . Many thanks Shep from Ireland
great job on the video guys. u show everything almost
How long has it been since installation? Also, do you notice any difference in sound, your car being cooler? I also stay in Vegas and looking to find ways to keep my car cooler.
I don’t own the car anymore but I had them installed about a year before I sold it and they were great. Hear the turbo better and kept temps lower, it’s a must in Vegas
Really a great video. Very detailed.
Thank you!
What the name of this wing? I wanna try to fit her on my RB brz 😍
It would look good on a widebody brz, it’s a battle aero v3 wing. Keep in mind you’ll be sacrificing your trunk though and it’s not really engineered for performance (this wing is more for looks if that’s your thing). If you want a wing that’s been engineered for road racing I would opt for a verus or voltex wing.
Where can I get this steering wheel? I definitely would like one with the buttons already installed.
This one is from VQ Vortex and my dad paid $1400 for it including shipping. I would say look for a different wheel because the diameter of the top part of the wheel is way too thick in my opinion.
@@MaasMotorsports sounds good thank you so much for the info
@@RageZer0 no problem!
Are you guys taking on any new work? I have a 08 g37 coupe that I just purchased a liberty walk kit looking to get help for installation
No my dad and I just work on our own cars. I would do as much as you can on your own because a body shop would charge you a ton of money for the time spent on making the kit fit.
Let’s go! Good to see u making another video!
Thanks bro! I actually had this fully edited like a year ago I just never posted it 😅 will upload more regularly once I’m back home
I was scared of adding vents on my FRS. Love the look though 🔥
Same, I triple checked the measurements to make sure I got it right. The cutouts they provided really helped!
Your dad is so knowledgeable and has a subtle way of explaining things also seems very patient.
Thanks! I've got a lot to learn from him, I wouldn't have felt comfortable cutting into a GTR on my own. When I get my degree next month I'll come back home and we'll finish the other projects we have sitting in the shop.
Whut are so the things you put the wide body kit and spoiler whuts the website
I don’t understand your question, can you elaborate?
Like where did you get the wide body kit from
@@dantefoisy3696 it’s a Duraflex kit, idk where my dad got it from most likely EBay but that was ordered like 2 years ago so I don’t think he would remember either
Okay I'm trying to find a place that sells them
@@dantefoisy3696 we bought it pre-Covid so it’s very possible the place that sold us ours isn’t selling them anymore. But there has to be someone out there selling one, they’re popular kits
Very detailed, thanks
Thank you, that's what we're going for!
Really thorough DIY. Probably the best one on youtube for this install. No extra unnecessary info, just straight to the point. Keep up the good content!
Thank you, I like to keep my videos as informative as possible! It does annoy me when other creators have so many unnecessary fillers but I also don't want to be too boring so I try to walk along that fine line when making these.
What stage Shep Trans is it?

Can you guys turbo my Scion FR-S ?
We’re not an actual shop we just work on our own cars in our free time
@@MaasMotorsports awe man , I really thought I found a shop that will turbo my frs :( do you guys maybe know a shop ?
@@lordsovl6006 I’m not sure where u live but if you’re in Vegas I heard Kaiju Motorsports is good for turbo installs on our platform
why would you want oil returning into the intake from the crank case hose? put a little breather at the end of that crank case hose and call it a day
The proper way to do this is to install an air-oil separator or an oil catchcan but since I had to drive it to school the following week we didn't have enough time for that. Will be installing the Radium AOS when I get around to it and I'll make a video on that as well. Other projects have kept me from working on the FR-S, but once things clear up I'll install the new parts.
@@MaasMotorsports sounds good! Any future plans for a built block?
@@tbonecelica I'm actually planning an engine swap, most likely an LS3! But I'm going to track it with the turbo'd FA20 for awhile first. @@tbonecelica nice! I got tuned by them too, haven’t had a single issue. These cars seem to be really reliable if you take good care of them
What’s the website you purchased these from I’d really like to get them , thanks
I found them on FB marketplace but they’re on Instagram also @carbonful
Question how much value do you lose on the car for cutting the quarter panel off like that 🤔
It's still classified as a clean title vehicle so on paper it remains the same. If you do crappy work then you could very well lose value when attempting to sell it. But if you take the time to get it done right you won't lose any value on the resale and people will appreciate the craftsmanship behind the build. I've seen cheap widebody kits installed poorly and they're an eyesore which is definitely going to deter buyers from offering a higher price. Spending the extra time to make it as perfect as you can is well worth it in the long run.
@@MaasMotorsports very true you guys are doing the right steps to make sure there isn't any errors with the build especially cutting metal and making sure the gaps are correct on both sides and addressing issues before the final fitment. I have seen really bad wide body's that kind flop while on the road 😂 you guys are taking the time to do it correctly where other people are just cut happy and don't do it right and people Don't want to buy it unless it's for cheap because of the work they did on iy
I put one of those on my Ford Probe it really complemented the body styling
Nice, I miss having easy access to the trunk but it does change the look of the car.
Hey nice video, high instructive, how do you make the tires be aligned with the wide fenders, wheel spacers? Or must be an specific tire or wheels, thanks
Thank you! We're currently using machined wheel spacers with the stock wheels but long term I'd recommend getting entirely new wheels and tires that fit the new body lines. Most wheel manufactures know the dimensions of specific bodykits so if you just tell them "I need wheels to fit my liberty walk gtr" they'll most likely know exactly what you need.
Maas Motorsports thanks for the info, Keep up with your videos, the best quality in the car world.
@@williammancheno8015 No problem, thanks for the support we will!
I’m getting a gtr soon and I’ve been searinch for a channel that is planning on modding a gtr as crazy as I am willing to go. Keep up the work looking forward for more videos. You guys deserve way more fame👌
Thank you so much that means a lot! You'll love it it's a great car to modify and easy to add a lot of power while still maintaining reliability.
6:20 Do you lose body structure rigidity if you metal cut that area?
We don't really know but we made sure to weld the inner and outer panels together. It seems to be just as strong as it was before.
I wish they made a widebody kit (Liberty Walk type) for a C7 Corvette Z06.
Yeah that’d be cool but honestly I think they look amazing even without a widebody kit. If I had a C7 or C8 I’d just keep the stock body.
Those cuts looks good.
Thanks!
That’s awesome I would love to do that but I’m pretty sure the labor and the material cost is outrageous. Great attention to detail.
Thanks, it definitely needed a lot of work to fit perfectly. The downside of going with a replica kit is the poor fitment, but if you have the time to modify it yourself you can save a ton of money over the authentic kit. And tbh it's not that difficult to do yourself, just time consuming. Which is why we posted this video to help guide people going down the DIY route. If you're paying someone else to do it they're probably going to put in less effort than you are (since it's not their own vehicle) so I would get the authentic kit in that case.
NIce solid job!! BTW, love the white corvette! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys work on that one.
Thank you! We’re looking forward to that one too, it’s a manual!
The rear wells need to be welded and sealed together as its structural... also it will start to rust
Yes you’re right, we started off just welding part of it but decided to do all of it and we also built steel inner wheel wells.
Did you install the boost tune to your car after installing the turbo?
Absolutely that’s a must, we got our tune from Delicious Tuning and we loaded it before starting the car.
@@MaasMotorsports how about the wastegate? How many lines did you use and where are the line goes? Cuz I don’t know where to put the lines and I don’t have a boost controller
@@MrJ-bv5kq The BOV has springs in it that allow the pressure to escape at a certain psi, changing those springs allows you to change the boost pressure. With a mostly stock engine you want to stick with the standard springs already installed (should be around 8-10 pounds of boost). The only line attached to the BOV is the vacuum line that extends back to the vacuum for the brake booster. You can see that at minute 26 of this video ua-cam.com/video/OFdAmzJCIck/v-deo.html
I’m talking about the wastegate by the header and manifold. Those two air lines where they goes. I know the one goes to turbo. Other one ua-cam.com/video/ZzK4iMertsk/v-deo.html
@@MrJ-bv5kq ahhh okay, kinda hard to see without it being on a lift but after thinking this over for a few days I actually do remember what we did. That second line can dump into the exhaust so it’s quieter, we just left it. I wish I could give you a for-sure answer I just can’t get this car on the lift rn to check, but I’m 90% certain that’s it.
Keep up the good work. I love seeing a father and son team tackle the old school and new school projects together.

Thank you so much!
F*ck I bought a $4200 Voltex 1800mm Type 7.5 GT wing. Kind of wishing I got this one instead. It looks sick 👍
Thanks man, I think I know what wing you're talking about that's sick too! In my opinion I think chassis mounted is best for track only setups after running this setup for awhile. Not being able to access the trunk easily gets kinda annoying, I don't think you made a bad decision at all. The Voltex wings look amazing especially the swan neck setups and you can still access your trunk easily.
Unfortunately the FR-S will still be slow af, it needs an engine swap!
Any more uploads of this build?
Yeah we have a lot more planned for it, this year has just been very chaotic for us. This build (and all the others) have just been sitting in our shop the past few months. We're going to finish the widebody, repaint the car, add the upgraded transmission and brakes, and do a few other small things to this build. It looks like things are going to start to calm down for us in 2021 and we'll have time to get back out in the shop and make some more content. Just been a rough year, but we'll get back to it!
Very soon, just posted an update video for what we have planned in 2021! ua-cam.com/video/Y8_oK0GQaRs/v-deo.html

Good content, I have a BRZ and I was wondering why you chose the K&N oil filter?
Thank you! There wasn't really any preference for the oil filter we just saw it at our local auto parts store and put it on. We needed a new oil filter at the time anyway and K&N has been pretty trustworthy in the past so we just went with it. No issues with the car since the install.
