The Suicide Squad is pretty great. We enjoyed it. Doesn't mean it's free of sin though.

The CGI ... for as much of it's $185M wad,

Speaking to the UAV not noticing the army guys. Enemy troops in ambush have used simple blankets to mask their thermal signature as far back as the 2003 invasion of Iraq. So possibly all these soldiers were hiding under blankets or cover to mask their thermal signature from enemy air assets.

I always put this down as a 100% bluff because she wants them to stay on mission (and thinks they are morons). Not sure how she came to that conclusion...

“Brain blasting bombs that ignore signal jammers” is realistic. Voice comms-particularly encrypted communications-require a lot more bandwidth to transmit and would thus would use a higher frequency. Higher frequency transmission are more easily disrupted for all sorts of reasons. Meanwhile, devices that send/receive only small bits of data, such as pagers, operate at lower frequencies that are much harder to block or jam. This is why doctors still carried pagers even when cellphones were common: even in a hospital basement or parking garage the message would still be received. Also, they didn’t transmit and so wouldn’t interfere with medical equipment.

They didn't quite make it clear in the film but Savant is named that because he's a borderline metahuman who's brain is wired up for perfect hand eye co-ordination, reflexes and Luthor level strategic thinking. It comes at the cost of his perception of time which basically means to him all moments are blurred into one so being penned up in that small space with a ball for a few hours is essentially torture by eternal boredom.
As for the skill set of the team there are a disproportionate number of metas in this line up compared with the last one. Also King Shark is a god... I'm not saying that just because the character is awesome but because he is literally a god... that is his backstory.

4:33 Some people have made a good point here and pointed out that while this may seem like lamp shading, in reality, it's because Peacemaker is a lot more prone to take questionable orders (which Waller needs, as seen later in the film), while Bloodsport is just a great leader (which Waller needs, because, well, a good leader would lead to a better team).
Therefore, having both of them on the Suicide Squad has an actual purpose, and this line isn't just them trying to cover up some laziness by simply acknowledging it.

Kinda like in the animated squad movies. Waller knows the leaders she assigns are capable but always puts in at least one operative she knows won't turn on her. Black Spider in Assault on Arkham, Bronze tiger in Hell to Pay, Rick in the last film Flagg, and now Peackeeper. The Wall's always got an ace in the hole.

Kinda like how she got Deadshot to be backup to Flagg if shit got crazy and oh look he stepped up when it counted.
