I love the title for this video.lol I'm new to the world of rhinestones and flock has been one of my roadblocks. Thanks for reviewing some of the different options.
Thank you for watching! I am working on a video for the turkey shirt and will get it out soon. In the meantime, I did post a new video last week on a baby bling/faux rhinestone that I did within Design Space, using the Don Juan Dotted images in the library. I hope that you take a look at that one and try it! Thanks again for watching, and happy stoning!
Thank you!! I have not cut it on my Maker yet. I mostly use the Maker for sewing projects. I will try cutting a rhinestone template on it and let you know which setting I use. In the meantime, try one of the fabric settings and see how that works for you. Try it on a test cut, not a full rhinestone template. Thanks again for watching! Happy stoning!
What settings on the Cricut do you use to cut Magic Flock? Are multiple passes or special blade needed? Did you use the standard green mat or a different mat?
Hiya! I used my custom setting mentioned in my videos (210 w/a double cut) BUT....one viewer has told me that using her Explore Air 2, she successfully cut the Magic Flock using the fabric setting with a single cut. I've not tried it that way, but if I do, I will likely try it with a double cut because I don't particularly like change..haha. With regard to the mat, I usually use the standard green mat. Sometimes, if the mat is no longer sticky, I will remove the backing from my flock an stick it to the mat. I love doing it that way because weeding is a breeze for me that way. Happy Stoning!!!
Show Me Crafty thanks for your reply. I purchased the Magic Flock. It worked out great with the settings you said. I’m wondering though...what kind of transfer paper do you use for this? I used Oracle paper for vinyl and it seemed to melt too fast.
Uh oh! I'm surprised that worked at all. I've never mentioned using regular transfer tape for rhinestones in my videos. You are supposed to use Hotfix tape. Naughty, naughty. :)
Hi! What settings are you using for your explore air for the TRW? I used 181 pressure and 3 cuts. Is this excessive? I have been in a dilemma with making my first flock purchase. I ended up buying the TRW and my 17 year old son tried for the first time doing it. They brushed in like a dream!
Hiya!!!! The settings are in my videos on cutting the templates with the Cricut :) If the setting you are using however is cutting well for you, then I would continue to use that setting. Glad y'all like TRW's material. I love TRW, and Matt an the crew are the best! Happy stoning!!!
I'm new to this but did recently buy a maker. can you print templates in Design Space or does it require special software? what setting would you use to cut and what blade?
As mentioned in my videos on cutting rhinestone templates with a Cricut, I use outside programs to design or prepare purchased rhinestone templates for upload to Design Space. I have done videos using SCAL (inexpensive at least when I bought it) and Inkscape (free). Most of the time, I use the TRW Design Wizard, which is the most expensive one, but the one that I prefer.
Solid video. Thanks for testing out our stuff. :D
OMG!!!!! Thank you so much for commenting! You know I love you guys!!!!!

Show Me Crafty lol. Is there a specific type you recommend?
Nope. I just buy what I can find. the Rhinestone World won't lead you astray though. Happy stoning.
