Question 🙋🏾♂️ I own and love 💗 my BIG GREEN MACHINE for the past 4yrs It’s excellent in keeping my whole house carpet clean 🧽 Should I upgrade to this new carpet cleaner? Or keep using my big green machine ? ?
I bought it. It came in yesterday. It removed stains that my old cleaner could not. It works. My last one lasted 10 years. If this last the same, we are talking $35 a year (amortized) .
Is it easy to disassemble and clean? I have a 5 year old Bissell i bought at Sams club and i hate it because you cannot properly disassemble it to clean.
Definitely got to get one of these, I’m honestly surprised it took the industry this long to come up with a domestic machine that utilizes steam to clean the carpet, considering the professional carpet cleaners use industrial steam cleaners, and they work better than ANY domestic machine
Not gonna lie, the steam is a bit of a gimmick, as professionals don’t use steam. What they actually use large quantities quite hot water (over 150 degrees) which creates the illusion of steam. No residential machine can actually match this, and the steam gimmick that Bissell created just acts as a new selling point. To achieve professional results, you need to mimic what professionals do, pre-treatment and agitation, and use an extractor with lots of water and the power to suck it back out again.
@@AfterDark33Main reason you won’t ever see high temp, high volume residential carpet extractors is wattage limitations. Most commercial units need 20 amps for the heater, 20 amps for the suction motor. Simply not possible using only 15 amps.

My mother in law decided to splurge on her new house (which is about 80% carpet) and get this to replace her ancient Bissell ProHeat. She let me borrow it to see how I liked it. I currently have the 2X Revolution Pet Pro and while I really liked the Hydrosteam, I didn’t see too much of a difference between them. And I felt the Hydrosteam was just more fiddly to use. I do like it though. And for the money it’s probably the best consumer grade carpet cleaner out there. But if you have 2X Revolution, it’s probably not worth the upgrade unless your carpet gets immensely dirty.
@@jasmines6380all of these leave a lot of water behind. There's not enough weight on the front. I've always found Hoovers remove more water when the dirty tanks provide extra weight on the front.
I just purchased the new PetPro Revolution after my ProHeat quit spraying. I found a video how to fix it by taking it apart and cleaning the gunk out of the heater which was totally clogged. Quite involved getting it apart but I love a challenge. Turns out I was unable to remove two screws on cover, but cleaned it out as best I could. I always flushed it out after using it too! Got it back together, but because front panel that sucks up the solution broke with no parts available, I didn't bother even trying it. Decided to just get new one! I noticed they got rid of heater on new one and increased warranty to 5 years from 2 years! Probably had lots of claims due to heater clogs! Bissell has always done a great job, so I opted to not go with the more expensive one with steam. After watching your video and seeing how both perform, I think I made the right choice. This is my third Bissell as they seem to last about 10 years. They have always made my carpets look like new and have recommended them to many friends! Great video!!! Very helpful!
I might have to look more into this one. I have an older rug doctor I bought years ago and while it works pretty good, it's unwieldy and tends to leave a lot of water in the carpet. Plus the brush cover isn't removable unless you literally take the entire machine apart. So every few years of occasional scrubbing I gotta tear the whole thing apart to get stuck pet hair and carpet fibers that have gotten trapped in it.
Hello. I bought this model about a month ago and it works great. I found that by using the steam mode it does leave a bit of moisture in the carpet, however, I mitigated this by using the wand attachment and to my surprise, it picked up a substantial amount of water left behind by the steam mode, thus dramatically decreasing the drying time. In conclusion, its better to use the wand after the steam mode to pick up residual water and then go over the carpet with the vacuum in dry mode to produce the carpet vacuum lines for a clean finish. Just my opinion. Great video btw.
Actually, it's a hose attachment, not wand. I apologize for using the term wand. It's a hose attachment that you snap on the front of the vacuum machine and it sucks up additional water left on the carpet.
I had bought the Pet Pro based off of your reviews a couple of years ago and I have been delighted with it's performance. It managed to get out stains that the rented Rug Dr could not. Can this be used for hardfloor? I am debating between this and crosswave. I want this one because of the hose... but wonder if it works well in hardfloor.
I was on the fence and decided to skip on the hydrosteam because 1) I couldnt find any reviews that showed the steamer doing something the 2x proheat couldnt 2) the steamer looks like it basically dumps water onto the carpet (4:13) 3) its over $110 extra, +50% of the cost 4) If I really had a tough stain that needed to be spot cleaned then I would just dump some boiling water on it as a pre-treatment lol... homemade steam

@@lilibear62 If you do a bit of research you will find that a carpet which has been steam cleaned by any brand of steam cleaning machine can take anything from 6-12 hours to dry.
That sounds great for spot treatments, but how do you feel it would do as an overall carpet cleaner for an entire room in your house? I’ve been looking for something that can do it. I know the Rug Doctor, and similar machines, we’re made for that. But, I don’t feel like they do a great job, they’re bulky and a pain to clean after use.
Actually older bissell proheats and pro heats 2x ( the ones before the Revolution came out) actually had built in heaters in the machine usually you’d turn on the machine then flip a red switch to the heat. The actual game change is that it really can heat up the water that it's using, which is good because you don't have to worry about your water cooling down and needing to be warmed back up like you do for other models. It's proven that hotter water helps with removing stains and cleaning the fibers more effectively (just like in your washer for your clothes).
@@Dyanosis ackshually it's been proven that modern detergents work equally well with cold water, and hot water was needed in the past to make old soaps work well.
Finally one that actually heats and steams the water!! Edit: I had an old bissell spot cleaner from 20 years ago that did in fact have a heater, but I think they got rid of those features at some point.
@@ernestryles They keep spinning. That's why I use the "rinse and storage" tray whenever I'm using the hose attachment. Otherwise the brushes would get grunged up on my garage floor or parking lot. (Most of the time I use the hose attachment is for cleaning my car.)
It uses so much water. I was shocked it took me 3 gallons to do a small room and i followed the recommended hold the trigger for up and back and then no trigger up and back. It took forever to dry.
For CAT urine, I thought you DON'T want to use heat/steam as it sets in the stain and smell more. Is that only for hot water? Would steam help extract it better?
I usually just pour hot a$$ water in the water reservoir. I wonder what the temperature of this “steam” really is. You might think adding hot water is extra work, but you gotta add water anyway, and my water heater gives me scalding hot water
How easy is it to clean the machine though? My last bissell was a nightmare. I loved it but couldn't get machine itself clean from all the hair and dirt caked on.
I have the 2x revolution and three dogs. It’s not a great machine. There are two main problems. First, it sucks up such little water. The carpet is left very wet. If you apply downward force on the end of the head, it pulls up three times the water. Second, the spray nozzles in the head get packed with dirt. I have to pull the cover and blast the manifold with compressed air to clean them out. Very annoying to have to do this either before or after each use.
I agree with this. I push the 2X ProHeat cleaner away with my foot to get it to take up water. The carpet is always so wet after cleaning, I worry about mold. Saw this but I've been wondering about the Hoover with heat dry mode.
I don't have coyote urine stains though. I wonder how someone can end up with that in their carpet 🤣 Thanks for all the information, with your videos I was able to make a purchase decision quickly. I chose this one.
Would this be better than the Tineco iCarpet or Carpet One machines? I saw a couple less than stellar reviews of the Tineco machines. Even in the good reviews, it took a lot of passes before the Tineco machines were able to pickup a stain. Maybe this is because they were using automatic dispenser options, and the machines simply didn’t drop enough water into the carpet? Or maybe it’s because the reviewers used the Tineco-branded detergent? Based on what I’ve seen, Tineco appears to be one of those health-conscious companies, and maybe their cleaning fluid doesn’t stack up to Bissell? (Of course, Tineco says that you cannot use any other brand of carpet cleaning solution.)
Yeah, all of the Hydrosteams hit the market about 2 months after I got a Revolution and a month after I bought a refurb Crosswave. That said, the Rev was on clearance at Sams' Club and the Crosswave was a refurb, so $250 USD total vs $350 for the Rev Hydrosteam. The steam pretreat does give me ideas for my McCulloch as a steam pretreater.

We have the Bissell Pro Heat 2x and this recently to compare the 2 and return whichever wasnt worth the money. Unfortuately the Hydrosteam being 100+ more; for us did not show noticeable improvement over the Pro Heat 2x it cleaned stains about the same. For those who came here to see if its worht the upgrade, would vote no.
I recently bought one from Target, and I have to say I’m disappointed, the suction sucks on the Hydrosteam Pet. After running through normally with steam and dragging the machine around, you still have to use the hose attachment suck up the rest of the waterlogged carpet…the attachment literally looks like at 01:42 The machines you rent at stores are better, even my mothers old Bissell carpet cleaner doesn’t leave as much water behind. I don’t mind flooding the carpet, at least (carpet cleaner) clean up after yourself. Bissell HydroSteam Pet maybe going back to Target
I got the 2X Heat Pro (the prior best) based on your recomendation. It is very good, EXCEPT the wastewater tank registers as full and closes its valve when it is only about half full, and when the clean water tank is still about 40% full. As a result, I have to stop using the machine to empty that wastewater tank about twice as often as I should need to. If the machine is properly designed, then the wastewater tank should be able to handle the full capacity of the cleaning tank - especially because there wont be a warning that it's almost full, and so you'll need to empty it before you have finished your current pass of removing the water, and thus the water has a few minutes to sink into the carpet - which you probably dont want. I contacted Bissel and they sent a new wastewater tank - but it had the exact same problem. Have you encountered this?

Hi! can the Hydrosteam accept some type of barefloor microfiber rollers if so which part# or link in amazon? I am concerned if I were to use the stock brushes that they may scratch vinyl/wood/plank flooring. Thank you so much the info you are providing.
can we see the Crosswave version for hard floors? I’m still debating the hizero 🙄but I need something that just scrubs the dirty water marks etc. on my linoleum vinyl plank flooring.
How do the dirty water tanks compare capacity wise? I find I empty my Proheat 2x has to be emptied really often. This one looks a bit bigger but looks can be deceiving.
Steaming water deploy is used commonly in Europe... I'm a bit confused here... I guess the good old Vaporella sold in Italy or the Kärcher are kind of illegal in the US?
Shame that you did not try this on a hard surface. I need something to clean a concrete floor so I really wanted to know if this would be suitable for that.

Finally one that actually heats and steams the water!! Edit: I had an old bissell spot cleaner from 20 years ago that did in fact have a heater, but I think they got rid of those features at some point.
the proheat units that actually have waterheaters in my opinion are better
@@joshuaryanferguson3702 this one has a water heater, thats the whole point
Does this brushroll stop spinning in this one when in the upright position? That’s what I really hate about the 2X.
Are you saying the rolls on the 2x keep
Spinning or that they stop? Idk why you’d want them to keep spinning
Me too. I never use the hose because I don’t like the facts the brushes will just endlessly spin and possibly damage the carpet.
@@ernestryles They keep spinning. That's why I use the "rinse and storage" tray whenever I'm using the hose attachment. Otherwise the brushes would get grunged up on my garage floor or parking lot. (Most of the time I use the hose attachment is for cleaning my car.)
@@Entropy512 ah. That’s annoying. Seems like a pretty big design oversight tbh.
It uses so much water. I was shocked it took me 3 gallons to do a small room and i followed the recommended hold the trigger for up and back and then no trigger up and back. It took forever to dry.
Probably one of the the best household use carpet cleaner out of all of them
Nice. Can you find Parts,
When it Breaks Down?
Or can We just Dump it in
The Ocean 🐟? 🙂
For CAT urine, I thought you DON'T want to use heat/steam as it sets in the stain and smell more. Is that only for hot water? Would steam help extract it better?
I need to know this too 😅
I usually just pour hot a$$ water in the water reservoir.
I wonder what the temperature of this “steam” really is.
You might think adding hot water is extra work, but you gotta add water anyway, and my water heater gives me scalding hot water
thank you for the great review! would love to see a comparison of this product and the tineco icarpet, will you have that coming up soon?
Hey Chris, could you think the attachments could be used on bed mattresses? would it damage or be problematic on certain types of matresses?
Have you thought about reviewing the bosch unlimited cordless stick vacuums?
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!
This can be used as a normal vaccum? Not necesarily in a carpet? I bought one from an outlet and I thought it was a normal vaccum
Do you think it works better than the proheat x2 or just as well?
How easy is it to clean the machine though? My last bissell was a nightmare. I loved it but couldn't get machine itself clean from all the hair and dirt caked on.
Does steam come out of the hose attachment?
I understand this is a carpet cleaner, however on a barefloor can someone confirm if the brushes make contact with the floor? Thank you!
Does the steam help with odor from pet mess more?? Or is it just more for sanitation?
I love when I buy something and they come out with a new one a month later :(
Yeah, all of the Hydrosteams hit the market about 2 months after I got a Revolution and a month after I bought a refurb Crosswave.
That said, the Rev was on clearance at Sams' Club and the Crosswave was a refurb, so $250 USD total vs $350 for the Rev Hydrosteam. The steam pretreat does give me ideas for my McCulloch as a steam pretreater.
@@Entropy512 We buy this device in Turkey for 895 dollars.
bro. just found your channel. i highly appreciate the infra red... that is what i needed to see.
thx
Wow!!! 🤩 Now, doesn't it figure, I've been researching the best carpet cleaner for a while and finally got the Bissell Turboclean Dual Pro Pet based on @Vacuum Wars review. Then THIS one comes out! 🤦🏼♀️ 😂
That has happened to us before too!
You are AI.
Please share a shaggy long hair rug cleaner . Thanks. You always test on medium length shaggy
Always love to see your uploads! But just out of curiosity I thought steam further embedded the pet waste? Maybe that's for hard surfaces only. Thanks as always for the content!
not sure where your getting your info but steam is beneficial in cleaning hard and soft surfaces. the newer floor cordless mops use steam now to and are better for tough stains ,imo
Hello. Great channel. I'm not seeing the link for the comparison with the HydroSteam and the Pet Pro Revolution. Can you send that?
OMGGG I was literally just checking this out on Amazon and was like HOLD UP😮😮,I used to own the Bissell 2x pet pro revolution so this will be niceee😩. Didn't see too many reviews there so THANK YOU❤❤
Will the steam eventually clog or gunk up due to cleaning fluid instead of just water?
Woah that's a cool outro!
Thank you!
Would you get the hydro steam or your previous favorite the big green for a 6 pet household ?
Seriously that ending, is very PTSD inducing for us Vaccum Wars Veterans.
This or big green? Also what’s the difference between the old big green and big green pet pro
Which cleaner actually extracts all the liquid? Compare this to the new shark
You should review the bissell big green pet pro or bissell big green vs the hydro steam
Could you review the new Eufy Mach V1 Ultra hard floor vacuum/mop? I believe its better than the tineco floor one s5 and the shark hydrovac models. Thanks!
Isnt anyone going to ask how you get coyote urine???
Amazon
Nah. Chris got high and invited a load of coyote friends over and the rest is history. Or if you prefer, he stalked a pack of coyotes across the mid west for 7 days and 7 nights sliding a vacuum wars mug under his prey whenever they went no. 1.
Bought it on Amazon! It's sold as a pest deterrent.
Is the handheld wand spray heater water or steam? Or neither?
We have the Bissell Pro Heat 2x and this recently to compare the 2 and return whichever wasnt worth the money. Unfortuately the Hydrosteam being 100+ more; for us did not show noticeable improvement over the Pro Heat 2x it cleaned stains about the same. For those who came here to see if its worht the upgrade, would vote no.
I recently bought one from Target, and I have to say I’m disappointed, the suction sucks on the Hydrosteam Pet. After running through normally with steam and dragging the machine around, you still have to use the hose attachment suck up the rest of the waterlogged carpet…the attachment literally looks like at 01:42
The machines you rent at stores are better, even my mothers old Bissell carpet cleaner doesn’t leave as much water behind.
I don’t mind flooding the carpet, at least (carpet cleaner) clean up after yourself. Bissell HydroSteam Pet maybe going back to Target
Does the hand cleaner have steam too or is that just in the little hydrosteam?
Does steam come out when using the upholstery tool??
What would you recommend for really tightly woven really low pile carpet? The pro heat 2 isn’t cutting it for me.
This would been amazing if also mopped hardwood floors
It doesn't?
We haven't - but that sounds really frustrating!
This channel is deep into AI stuff now. the End tidal card is made with AI. So we have AI voice with new AI end tidal card. It's awesome thanks for the review !
So the voice totally is not AI. That is a real person who is going to be occasionally helping out. The graphic at the end card is some AI fun tho.
I just bought this one and used it today. So far so good.
We hope you enjoy it!
Does she also work with vinyl flooring?
How loud is it? I really want an upright carpet cleaner with a handheld attachment but my current one is waaaaaay too loud for an apartment
Hi! can the Hydrosteam accept some type of barefloor microfiber rollers if so which part# or link in amazon? I am concerned if I were to use the stock brushes that they may scratch vinyl/wood/plank flooring. Thank you so much the info you are providing.
Do you think Dyson will (should) ever make a carpet cleaner?
can we see the Crosswave version for hard floors? I’m still debating the hizero 🙄but I need something that just scrubs the dirty water marks etc. on my linoleum vinyl plank flooring.
can you advise if this can be used to scrub and steam hard floors. all the usual floor steamers don’t have proper scrub functions. thanks
this is designed for carpet only.
Can it be use on hard floor s
Wouldn’t that trip standard household 10 amp breaker/ rcd?
Can the CrossWave Hydrosteam Plus clean carpets like that?
How do the dirty water tanks compare capacity wise? I find I empty my Proheat 2x has to be emptied really often. This one looks a bit bigger but looks can be deceiving.
How does this machine rinse the carpet?
Can this be used on hard floors?
They are not designed for hard floors. We test on carpet only.
I heard that you have to give about 60 sec to heat up the water, am I right? So I cannot just bring cold water and start right away, am I right?
I will use demineralized water with it
Just wondering if you can use this one on wood/hard surfaces? Or is it only good for carpet?
These are designed for carpets.
But how does it compare to the big green carpet cleaner?
So is this better than Hoover scrub deluxe or elite??
How do you get the steam to go? My steam pretreat icon doesn't go solid... it's only flashing.
I just bought the 2x revolution and I find that even if I don't press the trigger it leaks the solution Is it suppose to do that?
Steaming water deploy is used commonly in Europe... I'm a bit confused here... I guess the good old Vaporella sold in Italy or the Kärcher are kind of illegal in the US?
how well would it work on carpet tile?
Shame that you did not try this on a hard surface. I need something to clean a concrete floor so I really wanted to know if this would be suitable for that.
It's a carpet cleaner. We have a best hard floor cleaner video right here: ua-cam.com/video/1mhpm_xB1ic/v-deo.html
