    Very good video. I've watched a ton of UA-cam videos and you are the first one that explained how to identify the major and minor finger patterns up and down the fret board. You just got another subscriber.

    I remember when I was shown this scale and how it could be moved around to play any key, I was blown away... You have a really clear and concise way of teaching, thank you for the lessons and keep up the great work, what you're teaching in some of these lessons has taken me years by myself to work out and even with a teacher it hasn't been so clear as how you teach it 🙂

    What a fantastic lesson plan! I majored in elementary education and wrote many lesson plans. I have a feeling you may have some teaching skills under your belt. I've been playing for a while but seeing the relative major minor from your perspective opened a lot of doors and gave me ideas to explore. Thanks

    I am new to your channel, and I have so many guitar channels and to be honest your channel has explained techniques and how to figure out chords and what chord you are playing better than all the other guitar channels🤘🏻 Thank you for taking the time to explain the guitar neck and open up the neck for me..

    Really helpful - I think the penny has finally dropped thanks to this video! One thing threw me slightly at first though - I would have found it easier to follow if the fretboard diagram was facing the same way as the guitar - but that's probably just me😉 Thanks again 👍

    Nice work. Thanks. What is the difference between a sentence and a phrase in musical terms?

    • @MusicMatchr
      @MusicMatchr  Рік тому +1

      Nothing really! Those are just two different terms you can use to describe the same idea. The big takeaway is to use the notes of the scale and combine them in a way that sounds like you're speaking a musical phrase (AKA a sentence).

    • @guarddog318
      @guarddog318 8 місяців тому

      It's the first position of the pentatonic scale.
      There are 5 positions total that link together.

    I think your diagram is wrong…🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @MusicMatchr
      @MusicMatchr  Рік тому +2

      Make sure your kind of flip it upside in your head. It’s meant to be from the perspective of you looking down at the strings while holding your guitar, where the bottom of the diagram is the low e string and the top of the diagram is the high e string 👍🏻

    • @georgemajor9589
      @georgemajor9589 Рік тому +1

      Aaaaaahhhh now it makes sense 👍🏻👍🏻silly me 😂

    • @clayslusher9088
      @clayslusher9088 Рік тому +1

      That is why so many new players get confused. Why not just flip the diagram around and invert the strings to match what is being played. Love your style of teaching otherwise. Thanks

    • @humbull
      @humbull Рік тому

      @@georgemajor9589It's weird right? The way Taylor explained it, looking down, helped my brain put it all together and lock it in to my memory.

    • @MusicMatchr
      @MusicMatchr  8 місяців тому

      All scale diagrams are written this way

    • @hansenmarc
      @hansenmarc 8 місяців тому +1

      The most common way that the fretboard is notated is from the player’s point of view, with the nut to the left and the high e string at the top. That way you don’t have to flip it both horizontally and vertically to use while playing it yourself.
