can I ask what kind of strings do u use on your guitar I love how it sounds and you have taught me a lot of songs thank you
+Adam Rodriguez Sure, D'Adarrio mediums, that's all I use on all my acoustic guitars. The guitar itself may have something to do with what you are hearing, It is a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe and has a really great sound. Good luck
i like the way you play you make it look so easdy
+art ascencio Thanx art, That's the goal - to make it easy, thanx for tuning in, good luck and take care
If you play along with the original it's pretty easy to hear that the order of chords is reversed from what Marty is doing which makes it much easier to match the melody. Instead of I-IV-V (G-C-D) it's V-IV-I (D-C-G). If you were doing it in the Key of G it would be D-D, C-C, G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G repeat. You hang on that I chord for a lot of that lyric. When I am coming off the last G I toggle the B and C note either on the open to first fret second string or the 5th string at the second and third fret. I also add an A chord on the last line of the verse where it gets to the lyric "love her" right before going back to D. Prince actually does it in D so it's more like A-A, G-G, D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D. If you do it in that key you would hit an E chord on the last line "love her" part on the way from d to G. I'll put up a video later but I am packing up for a gig right now. Still easy to play just different.
+doug lindsay Thanx for your input my man. To each his own I always say. I look forward to your take on the tune, take care and good luck at the gig
LOL !! Um.... no... your own take on the song is taking liberties with phrasing and such. Not ignoring the basic harmonic structure of the song. A song is NOT just melody and lyrics. Chords add the flavor. You just took a soulful song and made a boring generic country tune.
Fail....
He's wrong and you are too. Transposed or not there is no 1-4-5 chord structure. It's 1-4-7 come on. Use you ears fellas and look up the proper chords if you can't hear it.
@@chrisgambaro-vega9504 110% dead on.
could you do lyin eyes by the eagles
Thank you!!! I totally want to learn the guitar and i ONLY want to play prince songs!!! Can you please do an EASY version of COMPUTER BLUE?

First of all great video video! I'm new to the guitar and this has helped me out a ton, but could you please explain to me the strumming pattern and when I need to change chords? Thanks!
I saw something in the lower comments but could you please explain to me the strumming pattern and is it the same for all chords and and what's the metronome count? I will push everyone to your page.
While I encourage you to find a strum pattern of your own to answer you question here you go - D D/SLAP U D U D U D D/SLAP U D U D U D D/SLAP U D U D U - that is the pattern I use through the whole song. Hope this helps, good luck to you and thanx for tuning in
Thanx for your kind words, i'm glad you like the vid as well

Great Job, would you try to play the song Feels by calvin harris.😉😉
Thanx, That is a great tune, I will put it on the list of possible future projects to do, Thanx for tuning in, good luck
I really like your cover, even on acoustic guitar you make it a sexy song :-)
Thank you, I'm glad you think so, thanx for tuning in
Thanks for another great vid, Marty! I like how you make things easy for crappy players like myself! ; ) What I like to do though, is play this song like G, F, Em, F, G and then finally G, F, Em, D, G, for the 'I think I love her' part. Sounds less cheerful, obviously. But to me it sounds slightly more 'true' to the original. What do you think? Thanks and keep up the good work!
+MrFitguru I think you should play it however YOU want!! If it works for you than that's great. Thanx for tuning in and good luck
what about the bridge section
*☆☆☆☆*
rip... you will be missed

Would you consider "Drink a Beer" by Luke Bryan? It's an acoustic only song that has a great message.
+Michael Miller Hi there, I am trying to answer a bunch of requests right now and also put up a few of my faves, but I will keep your request in mind for a possible future project, thanx for tuning in and good luck to you

+Drunky Smurf Nah, I'm an acoustic guy myself, to each his own I say, thanx for tuning in
you left out the hook, or whatever they call it. where he says The Horses wonder who you are, and something about lightning. And Makes you feel like a movie star. I never could get that part right , even in my head. The lyrics are a little confusing on that part.
i thought this song was so complicated. i guess i was wrong
Not my way, easy guitar tunes is the name of the game, thanx for tuning in
You guys just learn the chords and not the extensions. This is a funk song.
This song was written by Warren Zevon. You're playing a cover of a cover
+Laura Walton Crazy eh, it's a great tune, thanx for tuning in
+Laura Walton Incorrect. Warren covered Prince's song. Prince wrote it.
Written by Prince* Warren covered it lol
This is not done right
Sorry mate absolutly not the the right chords...
