Great lesson and playing style. Especially the G,F#, to A walk-down. Sounds just like the way Prince recorded it on the original track back in ‘82 (then later released on the 1985 album “Around the world in one day”). 🔥 #Prince4Ever #Prince
Hi Larry, thanks a bunch for that … and thanks for taking the time to comment also! Much appreciated 👍. My favorite Prince album might be Controversy … great album 💿!
Thanks a bunch! I’m glad you get the E string run thing 😃. I get some criticism for not playing studio correct versions … that’s awesome that you understand what I’m trying to convey! Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated 👍
Memo, you caress that guitar with the devotional Love you have for your family! Keep On Strumming to your heartbeat 💓! I love how you’re giving so much to the World! I Love YOU MUCHO 😊❤!
Fantastic. You've earned another subscriber here. I've been trying to find someone showing how to play the sort of muffled acoustic guitar part from this song that you only hear on the long version are the beginning of the music video. Can you upload a lesson on that part? You can hear it at the beginning of the music video and ending just after he coughs while Pat Smear is sitting in the background next to Lisa's piano.
Hey Eric, thanks for commenting, I’m glad you got something out of it! There’s a comment by Kennethdanielsmusic (probably right under your comment) that addresses some other chords too 👍. It’s worth checking out 🎸
Hey, thanks! That’s a 2002 Taylor 414 CE. I got it new over 20 years ago. It’s been everywhere man. Needs a fret job, but it’s really comfortable and has a beautiful sound 👍
Hey Eddie! I’ve never played that one, but it’s a great tune. I’m a couple videos behind … maybe once I catch up I’ll give it a whack! Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I don't hear the Dadd9. I hear just an F#m or more of a D7/F# - which is also F#m/A (and to me this looks like what Prince is playing in the original music video - look at his hand at 1:12). I can't hear it here either ua-cam.com/video/8_gP3DqFiBY/v-deo.html I love what you've done here with the intro though - I'm gonna borrow that :) Excellent video!
Hey KennethDaniels, thanks for chiming in man! I know exactly what you’re saying. Most sites show it as D/F#, and I tried a bunch of other things but I wasn’t feeling it. I’ll definitely go back to the original and check it out again. These tunes I do are always evolving. Glad you liked the video!
Best version I’ve seen on here.
Great video. You explained a song I had been struggling with in 5 or 6 minutes. Not bad!
Awesome, glad I could help! It’s a tough one, but it’s doable 👍. Thanks for watching 😀
Ive heard others on the net how to play this song Raspberry Beret ,your the only one with similar tune to prince that ive seen well done .

LOVE your energy!
Love it dude..Amazing work. Thanks.
Good job on this classic Prince number; completely get the E string run on the Horses section.

Awesome. Great breakdown! Great cover
@metalmouth7499, thanks! Great name BTW … I was in metal bands way back in the day, what a blast! Rock on man 🤘
Nice work ! Positive vibes to you !
Hi Robert, thanks a bunch man! Not an easy one to break down, but did what we could 👍
First class! Dadd9 is the way to go but others are doing F#m and it's just _wrong_ , at least for just a guitar.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback! It’s a bit of a tricky one, but such a great tune 👍
Great lesson brother! Well done!
Oh man, thanks! Glad you liked it 👍
This is amazing too! How have I just found you? Gonna check out your other videos and you gained a new subscriber. Thanks!!!
Awesome @pigseye2! Glad you’re digging it 👍. Lots more to come!
Great job!
Hey Scott, thanks for that!
Great job man, is that an older 710? Sounds awesome

@billvillamusic3625 beautiful guitar, I had a 2001 710 and I miss it dearly
Great guitars, … and they just get better with age!
