    I get it also 2 weeks ago. The preserving isn’t my way to go personally. I like to spin it and keep it in good shape.
    I don’t mind the value of it in the future but I know it gets expensive.
    People like you keep things like that clean for future generations and that’s a other good way to like music.

    what has better audio quality, the original black friday vinyl or the 2022 repress in this video? and why

    • @groovingyourway
      @groovingyourway  Рік тому +1

      Haven't heard for myself but people on frank ocean forums said the repress had better sound quality. Grain of salt of course 🧂🧂 lol

      Saw issues with both, defects exist for both. No matter what you get, it's best if the owner can fully playgrade the vinyl beforehand, even if it "looks" mint!

    Where did you get the sleeves to protect the whole gatefold and inner paper sleeves?

    Great video man! This made me so much more excited for my own pressing coming in soon. I don't plan to play it, I don't have a setup or anything, therefore, would the best thing be to keep it in the shrinkwrap to maintain quality over time?

    • @markimusfilms
      @markimusfilms Рік тому +2

      hey thanks man :D
      It's debateable, what to do. no shame at all for not having a setup! because not only did I NOT have one for my first years of collecting, but also Frank at 33RPM literally just did a video talking about "50% of record buyers in 2022 don't even own a setup"
      So I've heard reports of people (Mike from the In Groove) over long-term (decades) sometimes the records might get bounced around & therefore get scratched from the paper inners, or even paper inner glue doing weird things to the vinyl...
      all done in the name of keeping them "sealed"
      According to Goldmine, I think opening the shrink to confirm/check condition still makes them Mint (assuming they were Mint in shrink to begin with). Therefore I've always opened mine & put them into the protective inners/outers because that is what really affects condition, if you think about it that way.
      Near Mint is beyond acceptable with me when I'm buying newer used stuff, anyway. In fact opening it to be playtested is even better!
      Probably 30 records I've never played & put directly into new sleeves..... yet I can count on one hand the amount of records I kept 100% in shrink lol.

      @@markimusfilms :) thanks for such an in-depth response! Definitely a lot of interesting points to consider. When picking up a new hobby like this I always feel super excited seeing how much stuff is out there on the subject and how supportive the community can be! Keep up with these videos dude, I can feel how passionate you are not only about collecting great albums, but also about the music itself. I’m sure that there are many others like me that can sense that in you as well.
