Hi! Thanks so much for uploading the preset. Unfortunately, my computer crashed after I downloaded it and I’m starting from scratch. I tried to re download it but the link expired. Can you reupload your custom preset from the intro of this video? Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Ok, here is my main issue. On the whole, I prefer duality 2 - but I don't write tight metal and am not into programmed, fast, clicky kicks. Is it possible to make them less compressed and more natural. I kind of like the processing chain on 1 but with the drums of 2.
Great! Thanks. One question, how meni overhead mixer channels did they include, are they any spot cymbal mics in the mixer section, like ride, china.. Sorry on my bad English.
There is 1 overhead, 3 ambiances and the ride, chinas, splashes and stacks have spot-mics in the Original Mix in EZDrummer. In Superior Drummer 3 you can acces those channels too for all presets.
Hi! What ezx/sdx are you using in the intro? Is this a custom preset you designed? If so, what libraries, and if so, is there any chance you could share the preset? It sounds outstanding!!!!!!!
Hi Mark, the basis of the setup is the Pilots presets but I changed the snare to the 8x14" Pearl MX Maple, got the 14" Zildjian K/K hats from Duality II and the ride is my favourite! It is the 21" Zildjian Mega Bell Ride from the Modern Metal EZX. I use that ride in nearly all my own presets.
Thanks for that question! It's actually the Korg M1 with the Dyna Strings preset. (for the pad) But what makes it special is the "Filtered LFO's Pitch" EZMix preset from the Soundscapes pack. The synth lead is something I programmed myself in Retrologue, 2 oscillators set to multi saw, an octave apart. Again, the trick comes from the Soundscapes EZMix pack, in this case the "Filter Reverb 2" preset. This EZMix pack can transform simple sounds into dynamic awesome sounds.
Thank you for this. I've been considering the Duality II for some of the snares, but I see now that some of the Tom settings are also nice. So I'm sure I will make a nice user preset from this kit - with maybe a Kick drum from another EZX and Cymbals from yet another. These presets don't really do it for me otherwise, but it's no deal breaker.
@@zeroeffortdrums Well I got a bunch of EZXs already and 3 User presets I really like, but now I keep coming back to the Toontrack website and this video and I really love even the presets on both Duality 1 & 2 > I'm fucked
Hey man, first of all huge thanks for making this video! Very very helpful and i hope toontrack will learn something from you on how to make proper product showcase :) Question: how on earth u're able to choke cymbals with EZD2?
Cheers Jakub! I need to make more, because they're fun to do! And I don't know! I have been able to choke cymbals from EZD1 and Superior Drummer 1 on... All Toontrack software take my cymbal chokes perfectly!
Stubs is a good one for prog like DT, Halo is great for, yeah, Steven Wilson kind prog and Troublemaker with the Ian Paice snare would be perfect for prog like Leprous. All Duality II.
@@vejichan Well, they're both pretty versatile, but I don't like all presets equally. If you own more EZX's it's a great pack to combine instruments from other ones with. My fav setting so far is Pilots from Duality I with another snare from Duality I, hihats from Duality II and ride from Modern Metal. But that's personal. (It's the kit I play in the intro)
@@vejichan Ok so the basis of the setup is the Pilots presets but I changed the snare to the 8x14" Pearl MX Maple, got the 14" Zildjian K/K hats from Duality II and the ride is my favourite! Great drumming dude. But that kit (the hardware) is starting to get old;) That 10" snare and toms....U need to go buy yourself a VAD-series kit from Roland:) Man, they`re so good. Keep up the good work!
Now I have to put up a Super Thanks button so people can sponsor me in buying a new kit! 😂 Those thing are expensive! But trust me, I've been eyeballing other kits for a while now, but this still does the trick. And remember, size doesn't matter, it's how you use it!
Now that is VERY helpful video, thanks a lot! I'm considering Duality I or the Dark matter for me as a new EZX this month. What would you choose for power, folk and thrash metal?
I you want to go for more thrash and power metal domains, I'd recommend Duality II, because of the presets and if you hear the Original Mix, it can work perfectly for Folk as well.
Nice! Duality II surely has the more "metal" sound, but I still like Duality I more beacuse the warmer sound. Could you share your hi-hat settings? I have the same hi-hat on my roland-kit but it mistriggers all the time while playing open hat. The hats sometimes clash while playing open hats so ez-drummer or my kit assumes I want to choke about 50% of the hits. Any ideas?
I'm still struggling with settings as well. I wish I could tell you more about my settings on the module, but the display is almost not visible anymore and (don't tell anyone) I play/record using Superior Drummer 3, because there are more setting options there, but that helped me a lot.
@@zeroeffortdrums Haha :p I have an idea, I might be my trigger sensitivity on my hat-pedal. If the threshold is really low that might be the problem. Will check it out 😊
Hello, thank you for making this. Two questions regarding Duality I please, does the "Original Mix" contain the raw tracks? And, how many audio tracks are there on the mixer for those please? Thank you!
Dude, you beat the drums really cool! And also many thanks to Toontrack for these wonderful libraries! Duality I & II are my favorite libraries! 🤘
nice composition at the beginning.
Thanks a lot!
Great video. I'm glad you like the kits!
I do! And I loved seeing the making of! Great studio you have there! And wonderful kits!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks!

Sounds really good. Is this still relevant, two years after?

What is the opening preset that you used with the instruments? I will look through the comments in case you answered this already?
I think it was an altered version of the Pilots preset from Duality I.
thanks for the video. Has anyone bought either of these? I like more of Duality 1 but my absolute favourite is on number 2. It's a dilema!
Wait for a sale and get both! 😂 Did you buy any of them in the past months?
