Amazing craftsmanship and QUITE a sound. You are great at guitar, too! I have been wanting to make a floor monitor usinf Kenwood speakers and a few speakers that I had laying around.
Hi , what do you think about the mounting type ? I mean is it better mounting the speakers from the front ? like ENGL , or mounting from the back like Mesa and bugera ? I think about the foam in front of the speaker and the resonance results ... thanks bye
Nicely done! i'm looking at modding my cabs to have removable front grill cloths and came up with this video. thanks! and great playing, recording, writing!
Curious if you'd make a more detailed video of the build process. Details about why you did certain things, parts used etc. I've watched quite a few videos on the internet and there are things you've done that I haven't see in others. Did you design everything yourself or did you borrow some ideas from plans.
Tyler Newstead I mentioned tube-town in this video, where I got the tolex and the corners etc. I gutted and old ENGL cab for the speakers, which were my only reference for the measurements. It's just a wooden box in the end haha
Impressive end result. Nice piece of work. The wall thickness on the front is spot on in relation to the overall size, not too thick, not too thin, just right.
Are those stock Carvin pickups? I have been looking for other options to put in my Jackson B7. The cab turned out great! Is there a reason you decided to butt joint the sides together versus finger or dovetail joints?
Yep stock Lithium pickups! I did this noob joint because I've almost never done woodwork before and this was way easier for me and faster. I built this thing in 5 days from scratch.
That cab turned out great with the amount of woodworking experience you claim to have. Great job on that! I think I am going to look into the Lithium pickups. Thanks for replying!
Good work! How are the measurements? Have you tried it without the insulation? Have you build any stabilisation middle piece in it? I built a 2x12 with 18mm birch plywood. Specs are like the closed back orange. Sounds nice but cost 550€ including the speakers, which is a used 4x12 Marshall... :/
If you pause the video at around 0:28 you can see the sketch with the measurements on the right. Top and bottom: 35x75, sides: 35x 71,5, back and front: 71x71 (Everything in centimeters) and 18mm thickness overall. I know, I didn't have to buy the speakers and even used some hardware from the old cab so I spent around 200€ for woods and tolex etc. Speakers are really expensive but also the most important part of the speaker. I haven't tried it without isolation on the back. I think it just can be better with it (but I could be wrong). You're right for that price you get an decent used cab but is the Marshall as good as your own built cab? Plus yours is unique AND you just crafted this thing with your own hands. My next project will be a 2x12!
What kind of file was that you used to put the curves on the edges of the cab, they came out pretty professional? Nicely done! I’ve just been peeling, sanding and staining already constructed cabs myself. I did a Line 6 with Celestion V30s and am about to start on a Krank Krankenstein one soon.
Jake Lavery: I had some discomfort with the luthier because of quality issues. I sold the guitar 3 weeks after getting it and took down the video because I did not want to lead attention to a brand I wasn't satisfied with. I didn't want to be dick and bitch around though.
It's not really fixed in place 😂 I made it barely fit, so it's stays in place by itself. Since the cab is only for home use I'm okay with this. It weighs approximately 2 metric tons, so it'll stay at home.
where did you buy the plywood(multiplex platten, wait...is that one word??)? I live in germany as well(Ami) but have not found any place to buy plywood... also, is there a link to a diagram for the speaker wiring? also, also, what speakers did you use? celestions or what??? I clearly want to make my own cab, had to leave my 4 x 12 in america when I moved here..
justin barrett look at Bauhaus or Hornbach! I don't have a diagram since I re-used the speakers and wiring of an old ENGL cab that I gutted. It has Vintage 30 Speakers by Celestion.
i need help i want to use my hd500 in amp for upcoming concert. i get the hd500 into poweramp loop thing but i want to know about the setting we have to do in Hd500 for that (output setting, 1/4" out ) and other thing.
thank you.. and what about the amp/line switch which should i choose, i don't think i would have much time there in stage for sound check so i want to sound best as possible.
Hi, nice job ! Difficult to make a choice of grill cloth by the pictures on Tube Town, but I really love this one. It’s « Grillcloth Tube-Town Modern Black » right ? Thanks ;)
Andrzej Kossuth I've never built anything like this before. I got minor experience with how to handle some woodwork tools but not much. I basically learnt by doing step by step. In fact it's just a box in vinyl with speakers in it. I think if you use some brains and don't have two left hands it should be possible for anyone :)
garrettgodc It's better to just learn proper muting. I see a lot of guys use for sweeps, but muting with the picking hand isn't that hard once you get the hang of it.
I love how you make things and review cool stuff. I also love the music you make to do these videos. Do you have any Bandcamp/Spotify/ReverbNation or whatever thing to listen to your music?
Well the old ENGL cab was 350€ (totally beaten up and abused). This is less what 4 V30s would cost new. I think wood, glue, tolex and smaller stuff like the corners added up to around 160€ maybe, I can't quite remember. I have a lot of tools at home because of my dad, otherwise you'd have to lend tools from friend's like I did for the saw for instance. I'd calculate around 500€ (speakers are the most expensive component) and A LOT of time.
@@MilianMalivukMusic Thats the pro blem with all tons of these , we at home usually dont have 40,000 dolarts worth of gear running thru pro tools , I get sick of the same thing FLUFF does it on everyone of his videos and every guitar or amp he uses sound exactly the same BORING
@Milian Malivuk Music You should try removing the back of the cab, and put in the corner of the room 1 meter away from the corner. You can also do it in front of a flat wall. You'll have to play with the EQ a little. My 4x12 sounds terrible with the back on it compared to open. Thats for all genres especially metal. The bass is way tighter and deeper, and the sound fills the room. At least TRY it. Im sure its different for different cabs.
Dude the color for the cab is so sick!
Bro, that's a gorgeous cab.
Chuck H Thanks!
How much did it cost to make?
Amazing craftsmanship and QUITE a sound.
You are great at guitar, too!
I have been wanting to make a floor monitor usinf Kenwood speakers and a few speakers that I had laying around.
Awesome build man, any tips on how you got the measurement for it ?
yes that's kind of important detail for recreating the sound,
Impressive tone good work
You did a really high quality job! I loved the build pics as much as I love your music!
Hi , what do you think about the mounting type ? I mean is it better mounting the speakers from the front ? like ENGL , or mounting from the back like Mesa and bugera ? I think about the foam in front of the speaker and the resonance results ... thanks bye

That looks unreal!

Nice build i like the tolex choice bigger cab more bass..been wanting to build one and order the tolex i want an grill cloth just been lazy
damn.. that looks freaking cool cab.
Another killer video man!
gret woırk man. Whats the name of the material you used for the colored exterior at 07:24?
Tolex
Hi nice cab! But is there a,way to get detailed specs of all the glues and materials you used? I really need help to make some.
Impressive end result. Nice piece of work. The wall thickness on the front is spot on in relation to the overall size, not too thick, not too thin, just right.
Oh my gosh how cool you have the exact same amp that I do!
and unable to be heard because of that line 6 crap in front
Very nice mix, the bass guitar sounds very nice to me
I love these videos on building guitars
What is the benefit of the sound insulation?
isolating the back panel reduces sound reflection inside the cabinet and make it sound tighter
Are those stock Carvin pickups? I have been looking for other options to put in my Jackson B7. The cab turned out great! Is there a reason you decided to butt joint the sides together versus finger or dovetail joints?
Yep stock Lithium pickups!

I need make my proper cabinet !!!!
So guitar>pod pedal>laney poweramp(not the front inst input) > cabinet? So do you model the distortion with vsts then in your daw?
Love the tolex color.
how much did everything cost excluding the speakers
mees kenter Wood and parts around 200€. And many many hours of work ;)
Whats the name of the song that starts att 5.00
Nice Work Job Well Done , Cab sounds awesome !
what speakers did you use?
He said Celestion Vintage, probably V30.
I put a V30 and Greenback in mine. The V30 is just soooo good
Great vid! What is the song at the end?
It's a demo song that I wrote a good while ago.
Ivan Loaces It was a pretty heavy rasp, then I sanded it to make it smooth :)
Awesome, thanks for the info. I’m getting one tomorrow.
That tolex is beautiful!
Nice cab. How did you wire up the electronics?
James Sealy I had a donor cab and I rewired everything how it was ;) That's all I can tell you.
Great work.
Nicely done !!! 🦾👽
Damn! Great work bro!
wwwwooooowwwww! amazing work! thats so hi end! congrats men!
Why did you take down the video for that 8 string you did recently?
Jake Lavery: I had some discomfort with the luthier because of quality issues. I sold the guitar 3 weeks after getting it and took down the video because I did not want to lead attention to a brand I wasn't satisfied with. I didn't want to be dick and bitch around though.
Soulhenge Fair enough man that's understandable, I hope you have better luck with future purchases.
how did you install the grill frame? Just glue it to the baffle or screws through the baffle from the inside of the cabinet?
It's not really fixed in place 😂 I made it barely fit, so it's stays in place by itself. Since the cab is only for home use I'm okay with this. It weighs approximately 2 metric tons, so it'll stay at home.

i want to know about the setting we have to do in Hd500 for that (output setting, 1/4" out ) and other thing.
1/4 inch out goes into the return of your fx loop of the amp! There's no need for other settings I think. Just disable your cab on the POD.
thank you..
and what about the amp/line switch which should i choose, i don't think i would have much time there in stage for sound check so i want to sound best as possible.
What do you mean exactly? Amp settings?
In hd500 near the expression pedal there is a small switch with amp and line option ( i thing you get it ).
what should i choose.
I have it on "Line"
Bro! Is the Pod x3 pro good? And how dies it compare to the HD Pro X?
Wilmer Lebron It is still nice today I think. Maybe I'll do a little comparison video some time.
What's the name of the song that starts at 5:00
It's an original composition by myself.
Soulhenge well it's a damn good one..
Burr b burr b burr bee burr b burr
Hi, nice job ! Difficult to make a choice of grill cloth by the pictures on Tube Town, but I really love this one. It’s « Grillcloth Tube-Town Modern Black » right ? Thanks ;)
This was a while ago, but yes, I think it was that particular cloth! I love the customizability with their tolex'es and cloths!
How much experience do you have with stuff like this? It looks almost unreal to do for a guy with no experience at all o.O
Andrzej Kossuth I've never built anything like this before. I got minor experience with how to handle some woodwork tools but not much. I basically learnt by doing step by step. Awesome bro, from 5:30 was mic'ed with this cab too?
That’s amazing!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
man this is so cool :3
Thank you for the video! Cheers from Croatia!
What's that around the nut?
It's called a fretwrap and is made by Gruv Gear. It's to prevent the strings behind the nut from ringing out.
it can also be brought in front of the nut so when you do tapping solos the open strings don't ring out.
i just tie a sock on the first fret
Soulhenge, huh! Never heard of that, I need somethin like that!

Yes check my band Soulhenge and my project No Ostriches on bandcamp :)
yeah i'm checking them!! :D
y poplar not birch ?
There was no birch available at my store, only poplar ;)
How much did this cost entirely?
Well the old ENGL cab was 350€ (totally beaten up and abused). This is less what 4 V30s would cost new. pretty nice man.
Has a Laney Ironheart....refers to recording with it as 'parent friendly' volumes....
it can go to 1 watt
What calculator did you use to tune and create your enclosure volume F3?
I didn't calculate anything.
What size this cabinet
4x12
What tuning are you using please
Outstanding, brother! SKÅL!!!
I'll take two, please!
Nice song!
nice dude
Why not just use the damn Laney?
theqrokz check my last video on the channel

Yesss! ;)
Lack of high end. maybe it's the recording but I feel your tone would benefit a little extra brightness (especially for clean leads)
5 minutes of you showing off, then a few pics. What is that all about?
It says in the title, John.
