When I first heard this song, I assumed the drums were a drum machine. No one (that I was listening to) was doing kick drums like this. If people played fast kick drums, they were just playing 32nd notes for parts of the song. Later I found out about Raymond being a real person and was blown away a human was playing what I was hearing.
For real. This was the first song that I had ever heard by Fear Factory and that was back in 2000 when some friends and I were on our way to Ozzfest. I kept making my friend play it until he just put it on repeat. Bro, we listened to this song from Fairfield, CA all the way to the Shoreline in San Francisco/San Jose. I was so pumped. Bro, I don't know which side of the political aisle you are but I often tell this generation of kids that they are doing themselves a disservice by listening to all of the lies about how evil and racist America is. The constant policing and control we have. I don't know about you bro, but when I think about how things were for us over 20 plus years ago I get so irritated because our generation had an amazing time. I remember the concerts where nobody was worried about Covid, security wasn't making things overly difficult, nobody cared or even thought about race or hate. Nobody cared about someone's sexual lifestyle, gender, race, ethnicity, nothing. We didn't care. Just be you. Two guys together, disgusting. However, two girls together, FREAKING AWESOME. Our music was just plain amazing. I was born in 73 so I got to not only see the transition from the 80s hair bands to the Grunge, and then to this. To me, I think it was the most amazing time in all of music history. Bands who have put out 6 and 7 Albums now were just finding their way. Fear Factory, Static X, DEFTONES, Sevendust, etc. The bands who were opening are now the headliners. I'm sorry about talking your head off but this is something that I have always been passionate about. Especially being a Black dude who spent so much time in these venues to see these bands. Our generation was so freaking cool. We just didn't give a crap. We were our own people. We either liked you or we didn't. It had nothing to do with anything else. I like watching these kids out of this generation get a glimpse of our time and for the most part they all start changing their way of thinking that they can now see one another as just another person instead of this or that. I'm Black. So Freakin What? I love Metal. I love music period. I love God, I love this country, and I love my fellow Metalheads because all of us, regardless of where we are from and who we are has this song as one of their get pumped songs. Korn, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, etc. We would kick these kids today to sleep, LOL. Again bro, I'm sorry for writing a novel but this is just something that is very dear to me.
Demanufacture is the best Fear Factory album in my opinion. I've been listening since 1993 and this is the one I always come back to. Listen to the whole album. It's incredible.
Fear Factory was transformative to my musical experience. One of few bands that is in my daily listening. Do Powershifter or Recharger for grins and giggles
I'm with u on that, I've always loved their songs.🔥🔥 Even now if I have to walk anywhere I listen to their songs cuz I always get there in no time at all lol. Just ❤ it
If youve enjoyed your Fear Factory Journey thus far, check out Archetype and Supernova! Supernova is still one of my favorite songs to this day. I don't think you'll be disappointed. :) Edit: Linchpin is no slouch either! If industrial metal appeals to you, imo, Fear Factory were among the pioneers that the genre appealing to more than a relatively small niche. Edited edit: just saw your Linchpin reaction get suggested 😂

Transgression so early? There's a whole other discography that has higher praise than this album.
