So the reason your colours aren’t exporting the way they look in Premiere is because Premiere operates in a different colour space to your computer (probably a mac). The best way to colour grade your footage is on a calibrated colour accurate monitor. But lots of us can’t afford second monitors so this is a great solution. Also, if you want to add your own compensation LUT, you don’t have to export the clip. You can just export the frame that your play head is at by hitting the little camera button under your preview window. It’ll export your frame with the same colour shift as a video export. Then you can put that frame side by side with your premiere project and adjust your compensation LUT accordingly. Great tips.
He's likely using Quicktime... so using that LUT is stupid. Anyone who knows anything about color grading knows you never open quicktime to watch anything EVER. Meanwhile, he's using a LUT to make footage in his timeline match how it will open in Quicktime (which it still won't match, he changed it by adding contrast and saturation). The bane of Colorists' existences is idiot clients opening their color grade in Quicktime to review it. You can have a calibrated $30,000 monitor using a I/O device and it won't matter if your moron of a client is using Quicktime.
I've been editing on Premiere for almost 5 years now and some of the things you taught in this video I didn't know about until today. This was an amazing video with top notch production quality. Good luck for your channel in the future dude because as far as I can see from this video, you're super underrated

Yes! The tip for correcting "flat" exports was spot-on. I had found the Adobe LUT, which helped but was still producing exports that were a little off. Changing the preference provided a 100% match. Thanks!
It took me sooo long to figure out that export problem .. I’ve hated premiere so much for that .. and their support team didn’t help at all! Very good video I think some people will be so grateful for the last one haha, I for sure would have been

The only con is that depending on your niche, 18:9 could lead to cropped off information/footage. In my case, I do gaming content and in order to get everything in screen I need to use 16:9. For quality of life videos such as vlogs and scenery it will definitely be good to use the widescreen for a more cinematic look!
I understood 10 % more of this than I did last week. This is so daunting. I started YT to make videos from gameplay. I've now fell in love with editing. BUT it's daunting and difficult.
I doubt this is true. The algorithm is based on machine learning techniques which is kind of a black box in terms of understanding how it ranks things. What seems to be important for the algorithm is click through rate and watch time, which kind of makes sense when you think about it lol

Thank you so much for the export recommendations. I have been fighting Premiere Pros color issues for over a year. I just always graded to compensate.
What's the difference between by having a 4k Sequence upscaled, compared to having a 1080 sequence export in 4k?
Do 1080p graphics / text upscale with a 4K export? Not sure, but that might be it.
