The orange hand, white dial on rubber strap Omega AT is such a beautiful sport watch 😮💨
I always feel like I'm learning so much when I'm watching your videos. Thank you for the great work!
Agreed. Personally own an Omega Aqua Terra and Nomos Tangente. Love them to death.
Sinn and Nomos are both best at what they do. Sinn are pure tools, if you wanna experience the legendary "german over-engineering" then buy some diver or flieger from Sinn, it's gonna stand up to much more than you do, guaranteed. Nomos on the other hand is on the exact oposit side of the scale, in house, delicate, bauhaus, pure german simplicity and elegance at the same time. And for the money? A lot of swiss brands are out of Nomos league.
And a little extra: both of these are pure enthusiasts choices, won't give you much appreciation in general public, but when recognized you'll notice a smile of a fellow watch-lover. :)
Hey Fed, I agree with the Omega, I have it and I always enjoy wearing it.
I love my Omega AquaTerra. Great watch and I agree it’s a high end watch in terms of quality!
Great comparison and review. Spot on with the Nomos! Love my Autobahn Neomatik! It looks amazing!
Thanks for being a dedicated UA-camr. Your videos always contain great content, and this one was especially informative. Glad you name names - very helpful!
Love these insights. I don't think the average watch fan would be dealing with all of these brands with high end to low end models. Very interesting listen. Would enjoy this series expanded on.
Love my NOMOS tangente. Can’t stop looking at it.
And I never knew that about Baume et mercier
Always a pleasure watching your videos, Fed. Excellent content for us the watch lovers.
I truly regret that I can only give this one “like. “ What a great freaking video and a great way to approach things. Thank you.
Thank you for your good comments toward Baume et Mercier. One of my favorite watches.. great for a mid-century inspired watch to wear to the office/dressed up.
Thank you for acknowledging Baume et Mercier, someone here knows their watches really well, unlike the majority. Keep up the great work.
Love the Clifton 10584. Great way to get into gold without breaking the bank.
Thoroughly enjoyed this topic. Great information and perspective.
I agree with the Omega Aqua-Terra. I have this model also and you do get a lot of quality and beauty for the $$
Great episode, love this type of thing 👍👍
Thanks for sharing your industry insights.
Omega Railmaster comes to mind for excellent entry level watch.
Good picks, Federico! Thank you. You have style man! I like your delivery.
Thank you Fed for sharing your “inside the industry” knowledge with us! I like the brands you suggested and will put them on my watch list. Thank you again.
Should that be watch, watch list? 🤔 😂🤣
@@chi1057 list of watches to watch 😂
That is some high end watch info. Now I see that it pays not to just focus on price poin. Thank you Federico 👍
Great stuff, Federico! Thanks for the info.
Be Blessed.
Very informative video.
Love that Baumatic. I have the same one you showed. Really nice watch.
I have a B&M Capeland Chrono. I love it. The Finishing is great and the 7750 is very reliable. You can get a used one for under a grand. It’s a buy!
Thanks for the great content. Love the Vach , same lugs as on Longines Chrono of the era.
Great video Fed!
I particularly love this video, fed. I own a Nomos Tangente and a B&M, and the next watch I want to buy is an Oris, which you named in your previous list. GMTA!
Great video! Who made your eyewear?
Hi Fed,
Always try to watch your vids. Love the diverse selection at DR Watch.
Wanted to add that I agree with your premise: there are some real gems within the lower cost ranges of certain brands. Unfortunately I am about at a 70% success rate. About 30% of the watches I buy just don't work for me after I wear them and test them out a while.
Thank you for such a revealing expose on entry level watches. I had no idea.
Super "Federico Talks watches" ... I liked your video bro... I learned with your amazing video !! thanks for bring us your knowledge
Brother: Your keen spirit and kind, direct and helpful nature for all things horology is greatly appreciated. That’s why I screen your content, subscribe to your channel and buy from your business. No BS, just the facts. Truth.
Omega's entry level watch is De Ville Prestige. Railmaster is also below AT.
Diver 300 starts lower than the regular AT as well.
Damn Fed... Looking great my man!!
I don't agree with some of your picks but I always enjoy your knowledge and expertise.
Solid info
Great video, interesting topic
I think that’s a really awesome message these companies send, “our brand name is synonymous with quality”
Love that Vacheron too, Fed. My favorite reference aside from maybe the 222
Had the Nomos Tangente, seriously considered the Baumatic Cosc, and still have the AT 41mm Metas. All fantastic watches.
Vintage gold Omega and IWC Mark series (I have the Mark 16 and it's amazing).... some of my favourite "affordable" watches.....
What do you mean by movement architecture?
Thanks for the education, Fed. Sinn and Nomos are brands I've admired, but not made the jump yet. I'd love to get an Orion for my dress watch, but a dress watch is not a priority right now. My father purchased the blue Aqua Terra earlier this year. It is definitely a very nice watch. While the bracelet may not be as top notch as a Rolex, I still feel overall it's a very high quality watch without the Rolex price. The best part was we just walked into an AD, looked at multiple watches and made a purchase. What a concept!
I'd jump on the Orion! It's very easy to wear casually; I wear mine on a single pass fabric strap and it blends in fine with a T-Shirt and jeans. Not just a dress watch imo
@@rileysmith4735 Thanks for that information.
Got the orion for my wedding watch. Great purchase!
Longines also has some great affordable watches like their Qonquest line.
And don't forget Formex, especially their Essence 39 - very nice quality and they're actually COSC certified chronometers!
I just bought a 39mm Conquest over the Essence. Formex had a few downsides. Cost was higher, it's a micro brand, and just didn't look any better IMHO. But Fed is spot on that there isn't much in the gap between Tissot and Omega (e.g. $1500 range).
Thx Fed, a while back you had given up on the future of Baume & Mercier. Did you change your view?
Can the Omega Co-Axial movement be service by local warchmaker only have to send back to Swatch Service center? Parts available to 3rd party watchmaker?
Hi Fed,
It seems your opinion about BM has changed a little since last year. Do you think they figured out their problems ( like “Baume” watches) ?
ohh yeah!! good video!
What do you guys think of Norqain new brand
Looking good Fed!
Any chance to have a short video specifically about that GP watch? 🤔
Second! I'd be very interested to see that complication in action.
Sinn 856 UTC case, movement, etc. A different sin. Thanks for your video
Anyone know what the reference for that specific aqua terra is?
I have a Nomos Lamba 39 in rose gold…..superb.
Opinions on Ulysse Nardin Marine?
I own a few entry level luxury watches and they are all amazing love my seamaster and my OP
talking about killer original design, that Piaget is stunning
Does anyone have the JLC basic “sector dial” version of the Master Control series. Looking to buy my husband one because it’s his dream watch. I can’t seem to find any online.
Thanks for the great video Fed. The Vacheron 1326 movement and the Piaget 1110P are based on the Cartier 1904-PS MC architecture by Valfleurier - the Baumatic seems to not really fit this heritage. Size, barrel, jewels, balance, power reserve, everything seems different …. You have any source where we can verify that these movements are indeed twins? Rather than distant cousins?
For me, in Switzerland, the Seamaster 300m is the entry level of Omega because all news Aqua Terra (41mm or 38mm) are pricey than 300m.
A Sinn 144 stsa Porche design might be my next watch or a Guinand.I always preferred the Railmaster to the Aqua terra but the older Railmasters. The only new Railmaster I like is the silver dial. I like the history of the Railmaster to. That the Aqua terra dosen't have since it's fairly new. I will not pay attention to Tag Heuer not until they start to reissue more of Jack Heuer's era of watches.
Very nice content! For me it's really a issue when a brand has a spread in quality, like for example Longines.. It makes me not like the brand.
Isn't a dial with stock exchange hours on it kind of silly? What if the hours change?
What's the Tudor Black Bay GMT worth these days?
Aqua terra gmt chronos are a steal right now. I got mine like new for 3k don’t sleep on these, even though they’re big chonks.
I don't know why but I like your intro music
A person who owns a Sinn and B&M, knows about value!
Got my eyes on a few Longines models, actually. Which models/lines of theirs do you consider “low-end”?
Baume & Mercier is definitely under appreciated . Solid movement and nicely finished watches
Nice one though I didn't follow the point about Longines' low-end having bad movements: the Conquest comes with the L888, which is a modified ETA 2892 with a longer power reserve... Anyway, made me want to check out that Baume et Mercier!
I have a Conquest and the movement is accurate, reliable and a workhorse!
Omega AT has higher retail price than SMP 300, so it's not really an entry level. Gorgeous watch
True
Federico's got a moustacho!
El Señor Barriga tiene toda la razón, excelentes relojes!
My first was an Omega Seamaster 120. It's a quartz with hidden digital that many jewelers in the US have tried to buy from me. Bought in Toulousse, France as my US Army retirement present in 2001.
The Aqua Terra is the entry level to the Seamaster program within Omega’s lineup. Omega’s entry watch is the DeVille Prestige.
Se ve bien el mostacho, déjeselo!
Nice!... Great video!... A Tudor 1926, would fit well in this category as well, I think...😃...the Aquaterra is a modern classic, and of course the price is high, but it can be called a bargain even so....😅... Horology is definetely not a fair game🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Baume & Mercier Clifton Baumatic is a heavy hitter totally under the radar. I’m not sure who else offers COSC movement, 120 hour power reserve, 28000 vph, thin and decently decorated movement. I own the blue version and it just shines. Loving it since I bought it almost a year ago.
Still loving it? :)
@@SacreDrototally ☺️
@@AlexMi77 Tissot Le Locle COCS is also a nice find.
People complaining that things aren't expensive enough are insane!
I'm first! Love your channel Fed!
love my AT. the model i own with bue. seconds doesnt seem very popular, Sometimes i need to sell to buy another one, you all know what i mean... so i check my watches one after the other, thinking that the AT has good chances to leave, then i take it, look at the dial, those crazy indexes who sees to float on this incredible dial...wooow.. and she stays on my wrist. shame the rubber is so crazy expensive.
i have thhe same wooow with my smp but with a bracelet like the sort of flat link of the at, all brushed, with adjustable class, then you have a great smp. i like the smp bracelet, but the design, it just doesnt work. Omega, you have tons of types of bracelets in your history, the flat link!!!! and the 1171, the 1450 (less fan) , beads of rice..
The Aqua Terra is far from being an entry level watch in the Omega catalogue. There are plenty of current production models that are far cheaper than the Aqua Terras...
Gah I live the Aqua Terra’s. As soon as I find away to hide this Seamaster Professional purchase from my wife i’ll begin plotting on how to obtain the AT.
Exactly, its very close to smp 300 price.. and no one will call smp 300 pricing an entry level omega
It's actually priced higher than the SMP 300
AT worldtimer is B E A U T I F U L
@@skduncan1974 the region i am in its a 20 usd diffrence (aqua terra is 20 usd pricey)
The AT is still something I would not call low end . The Formex Essence line vibes homage to the AT styling with a sub $3K price point.
I never hear you speak of Ball Watches. I would love to hear what you have to say and your opinion on them.
Add the OP to that list
Is low end longines that bad?
I don’t think I’d say the aqua terra is exactly cheap but that’s me
My phone tells the time. That’s good enough for me.
That mic really looks like something else ))
Love Sinn….wish they stopped using spring bars though as kinda makes the bracelet hex-screws pointless
Love Sinn too. However i wish they create a micro adjustment clasp
@@evh4611
I hope they don’t, unless they find a way to make it as thin and short as the ones they currently use.
A Sinn 144 Stas Porche design might be my next watch or a Guinand chronograph
Tudor Ranger pricing quiet so low regarding what you get in quality.
New visitor to your channel, i like it!🤘🏾🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I have a T-1, great watch and going UP in value, the dials are made for simplicity and easy to see, like most German things the quality hides behind its basic looks. Titanium is so much lighter
Sinn is cool but I prefer Damasko. You get the same things just cheaper and the VAST majority have the ice hardening (tegiment) at no extra cost. They also designed an in house movement. Take mine for example, the DS-30. Its their version of the Sinn 556 only its thinner, has standard case hardening and is far cheaper. Can't recommend Damasko enough.
if you do go with that in house movement add $450 -500 to the price. And if you want a bracelet add another 550-600.
Guinand watches are very close to Sinn and Demasko aswell
Baume who? Now I have a new brand to look into. Apparently I was living under a rock lol
‘The cheapest Tudor in the world, well in America’
Reinforces the USA stereotype 😂
🔥🔥🔥
imagine brands that charge thousands for watches and still try to cut corners
movement architecture?
hunh?
