I recorded in hd and now is terrible. I’m considering to redo the video.

Thanks so much for this video finally got rid of my crappy fob... didn’t even have a panic button just a void hole lol so I got used to not having that luxury.

I don’t think so. Go to the local pharmacy or dollar store and get you one.
Thanks!! I did the following different for my Octavia Mk2 keys (Same as your gen)
1. I didn't have to grind my old key. I just tapped it in!
2. I didn't have to shave any plastic off for the mother board. It just fit no problem!
3. I used a 50/50 mix of IPA and water to dissolve the glue around the immobilizer. It just came right out! I let it soak while I was doing the other steps.
Excellent man. Maybe we have to grind it because our keys are not made for Europe style. Or maybe cheap Chinese and maybe in you country don’t use as stronger glue like us. So there can be a lot of difference.

oh boy i did it barely, but it works :)
took me a little longer. I used sandpaper (p220) and little by little sanded the key. It opens and closes perfectly. And good news for someone with Audi a3 8p 2004/5 if you have the old key like me you can retrofit this no problem

The film is good, but the sound is underground. What kind of instrument sits behind the steering wheel?
Donnervogel 01 I noticed that sound to. But at first when I uploaded it wasn’t there.
It looks like UA-cam does something to the videos because , I know that noise wasn’t there before.
And that instrument is a boost gauge to read the turbo pressure,I don’t recommend it check one of my previous video is what I got now. Way better .

Ive followed every step but the case is so tight it holds the buttons down and constantly flashes
Yeah you can’t spect to be perfect on who knows how many copy’s china produce with the same molds. ITS NOT MY FAULT.
When that happens i trim the rubber buttons at the bottom of the button a little bit at the time until i get it perfect. Is the clear rubber if happens the you cut to much and now is hard to pressed well get a piece of tape and add until is clicking again .
Hi, thank you for the video, it was very helpful. I did all the steps aside from the grinding as I didn't have anything to do it with. I'm just going to have the key cut. The key is working however the case isn't closing completely, theres a slight gap where the key folds in and just doesn't feel very secure. I'm worried that it will come apart In use and I'll lose the back. Any ideas? Thanks.
Is not closing because you don’t grind it like i did.
@@taco8v wow very late reply lol, that was 10 months ago haha. My issue was just that it was clipped down enough had to put a flat head in the gap where the key goes and twist to clip them together

Hi, can it be done with older mk4 key with 2 buttons?
I don’t think so because you where miss one button to click man , but if you don’t care about the remote electronics and just wanted the key flip in the mk7 well then yes you can. But why don’t you get at 3 button remote and just get the benefit from 3 button ? It can be reprogrammed to your car 🤷♂️. I think lol
@@taco8v Yes, I will get 3 button key and program it to my car and then replace case with mk7 key. I just don't know if it's possible to program 3 button key to my car because I have 2 button key... I will try!
Anyone had issues with the motherboard part? It isn’t clicking into place nor lighting up :(
Did you grind down the inside to make it fit?
Didn’t get that in process. I just put it on top of the battery. Tested the buttons and no light flashed. It annoyed me to much in the end so just put an hammer through it lol
Why do you need to grind the blade ??? That’s garbage
The blade needs to grind it to shave it down so it can fit in the none original hole , Do to a Chinese piece and we need to shave it down so it fits inside the Chinese case.
Not need to do it all the time if key fits at first
I did this and I cant get my unlock to work in the mk7 keyfob! it works for a day and then stops working. it clicks and everything... unlock only works in my mk4 keyfob. The battery is new, Any ideas?

Hey the key fob logos are 14mm on these that you order. I think on the actual VW newer ones they are 12 but these keep the 14mm. Hope this helps
can this be done with the older style 2 button mk4 keyfob?
Shatteristiic it will work but your trunk key won't have any functions. Just lock and unlock according to VW vortex people say that it works... I'm doing this very soon but I have the 3 button mine is 03 model. Make sure yours has led light in middle of old fob and not top right or it stated it will not work. Heads up

Alex Dahl i still have it since this video and still working fine. Only thing is gone is the paint from emblem but that also happens to the originals 🤷♂️
My key is hard to open some times

Also you meant reprogram a new chip not a key. Wich is pretty easy if you have the 4 digits number from instrument cluster and vagtacho and vcds.
@@taco8v if it is only 4 number, can it be bruteforced? on vcds?
No you need vagtacho to pull this number out of you cluster than you have the code now to reprogram a new innmo sensor for you key. The remote part is another process way easier

Fucking piece of shit chip, o just broke it, tried everything, gas, acetone, tons of acetone, WD-40, nothing worked, and I broke it.
Question now is... what do I do ? Buy a new chip or what ?

Awhh man really? Need to let it seat for a long time with acetone till it dissolve the glue. I just literally seen your comment. Yes need to buy a new chip and reprogram it. But for that you need the instrument cluster pin number or take it to a dealer. Sorry mate but this procedure needs to be very very carefully doing it. This is not for you if you don’t have a tons of patience and let the acetone do his job on dissolving the glue. Sorry. :(
