It might be interesting for future episodes if you interview Mykayla Skinner and her Husband since they are currently in the middle of closing an olympics cycle, with all that that entails regarding practice time, sacrifices, etc.

When they said hopefully they have baby boy by the time this comes out I RUSHED to Instagram to find nothing posted on their stories and then remember they were putting out a onesie when little man arrived and so again RUSHED to the website to see the onesie! I’m losing it right now!!!! Congrats y’all!!!
I never saw the onesie posted, but someone else who is a Fan of their UA-cam videos announced it.

First, congratulations on Little Man! I hope everyone is healthy and resting comfortably 💜I loved this video, thank you for sharing. I would be interested in hearing more about various aspects of Shawn's Olympic experience, including post-Olympic life, especially that first year or so and what it was like mentally/emotionally once the O's were over.

I have watched many of ya'lls episodes. This post has a authenticity or sweet spot dynamic. I don't know how to best explain it 🤷 but I would want more of this. Also, is there a blog with all the baby things from your episodes, I know comments were turned off and sometimes there are links but I'm not finding an easy hub for all the said references

You guys should try and do an episode with Esther Perel! She would be perfect for this podcast! Also I think doing an episode on the toll being a top athlete takes on your mental health would be another great one and help do many people who struggle! I love these episodes and they’ve helped me so much in my mindset and my relationship!

Pretty sure individuals (Jade and Mykayla) can still get two--per-country-ed out? I could be wrong though! I hope I'm wrong haha. Does anyone have any sources for that??

The individuals (Jade and MyKayla) are competing for the USA and their medals do count towards the US medal count. Unfortunately that also means they are part of the 2 per country rule :( So there is a good chance one or both of them may not get any medals at all and potentially not even make it to finals, meaning their Olympics would end after qualifications, especially since they're both strong in the same events. I'm hoping MyKayla qualifies to vault and Jade to floor so they both have a good chance to earn one medal.
Yes, absolutely. When the podcasters said that the individuals wouldn't have their medals count towards the US medal count, and that they wouldn't apply to the 2 per country rule, I was like um, wtf.

You and Nastia dominated that year though bringing home 9 medals between you, always lock step Gold/Silver or Silver/Bronze and getting more medals than anyone else. It was epic and a tremendous achievement. And our team still got the Gold and Silver in the All Around so you certainly delivered expectations anyway. You still got a Gold for Beam. I remember it well.

The four team members compete for the team medal. The two individuals compete for individual medals and potentially all-around. I believe you are wrong about additional spots in the finals. They are just competing for one of the individual apparatus finals and/or all-around final spots only if they are top two.
The individual spots can only make event finals if they place in the top 2 not 3/4. The 2 per country rule is still the same.
I think a part 2 should involve Mykayla Skinner and her husband for sure! 🙏🏻

I was at 2008 Trials and this isn't entirely accurate. They did not name a team at Trials. They named Nastia & Shawn, as the top two finishers. The rest were taken to the selection camp without being named as part of the team. They specifically only named two as part of the team, which Alicia Sacramone later commented on how she was hoping they'd name more at Trials but did not.

To be fair, laptops back then were VERY unreliable and crashing was not uncommon. So it’s both of their fault for losing the photos. Man that would suck, but I a very nostalgic person so that’s just me. 😁 At least the media captured some aspects!

I wish, oh how I wish, you’d start to leave Shawns olympics career alone. We’ve seen it all over and over again. One other thing, why can’t Andrew leave Shawn be when she’s being taped? Andrew always sticks his head in at any given moment. I believe Shawn is so intelligent, she can handle herself. One more thing Andrew is not funny…act your age. Sorry to vent Shawn..you love him….I don’t.
