This was great. Played in a draft last night and A LOT of these questions came up. They ruled correctly in most cases for me so I feel better. The Detective Mickey one not looking at the inked card is something that people have a hard time with.

What is the timing for Item cards? The specific scenario I was in was that my friend got Pawpsicle and kept using its ability to draw a card every turn, but I thought it only activates its effect on the turn that you play it and then you can use its discard effect whenever you choose on your turn.

So this is great and I don’t think you talked about it but do the shifted characters gain the lore gathering as well? I.E Jasmine disguised gets 2 lore when they quest and Jasmine queen of Agrabah gets 2 as well does that mean that Jasmine when shifted into queen Jasmine gains 4 lore when questing?
No. When you shift it counts as one character. You put the damage counter on the shifted character from underneath character. The character underneath goes where shifted player goes. So if shifted character gets bounced to hand, character underneath would go to hand too
No, the top Character inherits the status effects present, but otherwise overwrites/replaces the bottom character
@@glimmergangpod But in the companion app it specified that the shifted character gain the abilities of its previous form. Example you use wizard Mickey to evolve into the rogue, Mickey, the brooms ability carries over to the rogue, Mickey.
@@TheMonstro92 it does not. The companion app is poorly worded. It has all the rules of the character you just played. It does not keep the rules of the previous card.
Question about Elsa - Spirit of Winter: It says that I can exert two opposing characters which won’t be readied at the beginning of the opponent’s turn. What if the opponent’s characters are all exerted at the time when I play Elsa (because he exerted them during his turn)? Can I still pick them for Elsa’s ability, so that they won’t be readied at the beginning of my opponent’s next turn? Or can I only pick characters which are not exerted at the moment I play the Elsa card? (i.e. characters which my opponent did not exert during his last turn)
You can choose exerted Characters and they won't Ready next turn
@@glimmergangpod Thanks!
Great video, Great explanation. As friendly as possible, advice, I would recommend that if you're talking about a specific card to show that card on screen.
For sure! This was a quick and dirty video tbh, but as my editing skills get better, I'm looking to improve on that aspect
Appreciate the overview! Got a question: when a damaged character is returned to your hand, is damage erased from that character when you summon it again?
Yes. The board state will see that as a “different” card when you play it again.
Exactly this
The best way to heal your high cost/damage/quest character late game 😉 If it survives the initial attack of course 😅
I don't understand action. If you have ink available to play an action say return character to its owner's hand and you have the three ink to play it why wouldn't you be able to play it during your opponent's turn
Because you aren't allowed to play cards on your opponent's turn
The entire game is ( for a magic the gathering term ) at sorcery speed
Here I was, trying to learn more about this great game and you bring up the horror of pineapple on pizza? Sir, this is a family channel.
It is scary delicious, yes
@glimmergangpod Haha! Thank you for answering a lot of questions I had about the game!
Great vid! Thx
I think you just created some more questions for me..
Happy to help work through any questions you may have.
Dang! let it go/7drop hades a shifted character turning into 2 ink is wild, that makes the cost of using that removal on shifted characters hard to say its worth while 😅,
Like having a character that counts as 1 card in the field become two ink when it enters the ink well is a bit busted in my book 📚
This video would be so much better if I didn’t have to stare at your face the whole time😂
