A series on this would be amazing! Seeing the fabric move while hearing the words you used to describe it was a lightbulb moment =) Fabric choice seems to be a very important but less recognized style point.
Please make a series out of this. I know how to sew and shop a lot of fabrics. I know my color season and essence combination. Don't know my Kibbe, just assuming. But I'd love a video where I can see how to combine those not on others, but in my imagination using general ideas.
I like this - house of colour advises picking prints that are 70% in your season, so what you said to do aligns. I'm a spring as well and am excited to see you embrace your color palette!
Ya I think all systems, including sci art which is what I’m trained in, does not expect you to find 100% perfect prints. Depending on how it works for your aesthetics and if it meets the majority of your color pillars, I think it’s good to explore 👍🏻
You are a style queen 👑 . This video is awesome. Seeing the palette against the fabric and the different silhouettes is soooo helpful! Request for a Soft Autumn,Soft Natural kibbe, Classic,Ingenue,Gamine Kitchner, combo. 😋❤
I would love a series on this! I realized fabric weight was a big thing for me roughly 6 months ago but it's moreso been a journey of pinpointing what I don't like in my existing clothes than knowing what to look for, so I'm sure I would learn a lot!
The momment you question about the fabric patterns being more romantic or ingenue I thought exatly what you showed !! The silhuete would dettermine if would either be ingenue or romantic bcs the fabric is yin with no size patterns into the extrems!! 🤩
Would love as a series.💞 Definitely learned alot. I hadn't realised until now that real world application is what's missing from a lot of videos out there. Great job!
I know this is unrelated, but I've been watching The Nanny lately and I can't believe how much you look like Fran Drescher (who was a SMOKE SHOW). Just thought I'd let you know!!!!! Thank you for your life-changing content!
Agree, a series would be great. This really breaks down all the elements of your style pillars, love it for deepening our understanding of how all the systems work together.
First off you look so beautiful in your new colors! And the effort and expertise in this video is just phenomenal! You are such a style fairy godmother- you get me inspired like nobody else. Would love to see this as a series!
This is wonderful, thank you! When shopping with fans it is way too easy to look at one tiny square of color and be unsure if it really blends with the whole season. Showing us what to look for as far as harmony and what to look for when it is off is out of this world helpful! Please, more! 🤣
I think this is one of the most helpful videos I have watched on your channel. I love how you broke it down in a way so easy to understand. Thank you! Would love ❤️ to see more. Kitchener also goes into what does the fabric convey or what mood does it project. That could be interesting. I love prints but always worry about looking dated with prints that don’t suit me.
I love how you are breaking these elements down. It is helping me develop my eye for details, especially in style lines. I also appreciate how you enforce that you can make almost anything work for our personal essences by tweaking it to suit us better.
This was super interesting and helpful! I'd love to see more of this :) I like to sew and the way you visualized the different possibilities one has with the same fabric is amazing, thank you :)
Great presentation…and inspiring ideas for choosing colors and fabrics! I have such a hard time making choices, so this helps! Yes to more videos like this! I also have a mountain of fabric from sewing projects gone by the wayside! Makes me want to check and see what I have been storing! Hehe!
This was so, so helpful! I love to sew but I struggle to find the right fabrics for my style rules so thanks for explaining things in this way. Would love a series!
See I saw the satin & thought draping & then instantly thought ethereal. Didn’t even take into account the pattern lol. Thanks for going over the details. Would love to see more fabric videos!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign yeah, the print doesn’t seem very ethereal. Fabrics weights have just been easier for me to understand than prints. So I hope you make this a series! Your videos & articles are so informative & helpful. They’ve been a huge help for me in figuring out my style.
1) AGREED with everyone about making this a series! ❤ 2) I know you don't type people, but do you offer remote style consulting? If not, is that something you might consider one day? 3) I just got typed as a Kibbe Soft Gamine with an Ethereal, Dramatic, Ingenue (in that order) essence blend, & I'm at a loss for how to combine those effectively. Ive also been professionally typed as a Winter (evenly across all 3 subcategories). I feel like you "see" things so clearly, so ill just continue to binge watch & learn how to combine all this. PS: I have been reviewing my daily outfit photos for nearly 2yrs, but I'm a dunce, & can only see what DOESN'T work. 😂
I've considered offering remote style consultations, but I haven't quite figured out how I would do it without discussing typings and if they are correct.. But I am trying to come up with a solution for this! I think knowing what doesn't work is great data. Have you tried the 4 style pillars series? that might help you hone it down. And my self-guided personal style workbook walks you through going through your daily outfit photos as well
Blew my mind with the romantic styling ❤❤❤ Series please!!! I'm definitely someone who likes boxes too much and it can become stifling. I'm loving your more wholistic approach to styling fabric.
I LOVE this!! Please do a series of fabrics for the body types!! As a Dramatic, I struggle so much with fabrics and incorporating enough "structure", especially in more day-to-day casual wear 😭.
Love this and how the colors and prints don’t need to be exact and go away from the boxes of style systems and what to generally look for. I do see a little gamine in the fabric pattern too. Maybe that’s just me. When can we see the light summer and/or light spring blog?
Yes, it could be used for a lot of different essences- these were just two I thought it fit easily in based on all the factors. I’m doing warm spring now, then light spring 👍🏻
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Hey... I was wondering if you could tell me what you use to create your sketches and designs at the end of the video (software/app, tablet/laptop, etc.). I sketch designs all the time, but I want to start doing them digitally, but don't know where to start.
More videos like this yess!! I never seen anyone do this its more in depth unique❤😊 I also agree with your decision umm can u make me a romantic dress outta that print its my colors lol jk I do like it though
I found this really helpful and I would like to see the same exercise with other fabrics for sure. I find it useful to even for essences and Kibbe that is not mine, as it is an exercise in recognising elements. It could be a fun and informative mini-series 🙂
This is a great idea. The first part relies on having the color swatches already. Realistically most people don't have that, so tips on how to identify the season(s) of a pattern in the store would be helpful.
I think most ppl will have received a fan during analysis, and you can purchase one either way. Having your own fan or a scarf with colors you know are in your palettes is really a great investment. It makes it so much easier and
I wouldn't wear that print. It's very pretty, but not my essences or my colors. The silk is nice, though. I have kibbe fn, so I can wear the soft drape. I like this video. More like this would be awesome. 😊👍👍
I'm definitely not trying to eliminate those aspects, just trying to put out some more frequent shorter videos like this one. It'll definitely be there for the longer/more in-depth videos!
Would love this as a series! So helpful and it's great to have a visual representation of what fits different aspects of a person deverse look. ❤️
I'm excited to hear this because I have soo many pieces of fabric that we could all explore
Agreed! I find it a really useful and informative exercise.
@@s.a.4358 I am working on the next video now 👍🏻
The sketches of different garments with the same print surronded with accessories for a certain type are so illustrative!
Thank you! Im a fashion designer originally so it’s fun to incorporate

Well the fact you can identify your own season is great! Maybe I"ll do some trickier prints next to help us train our eyes
