As a Writer who just published my first action/thriller I would say force Idris to be rescued by Tyler & Nik that way you replace the brother but can also do the thing where Idris doesn't want to listen to Tyler naturally creating a Riggs & Murtaugh in ExtractIIIon. That way with both of them starring Netflix should do a theatrical release, even if it's only for a month then on streaming like with Glass Onion 2. Oh, have it so that Tyler gets contacted by a grizzled suit wearing Oscar Isaac who needs him to extract Idris so that their boss doesn't get caught up in a government assassination plot. That would be the first 30 minutes then they're on the run but being chased by the captures and for some reason another group. Almost making it seem like Oscar is with one of the governments ultra secret agencies, so Tyler has no choice but to finish the mission, so he and Nik don't die between 2 groups trying to kill Idris. And as a little sprinkle Tyler & Nik now have a hacker on the team and it's Rosa Salazar. That way you got 2 action guys & 2 action girls going up against two enemies on different fronts.
Barely blinked.. was sooo satisfying. I found myself standing in the middle of the room whispering "WTF is happening" or "How did they shoot that..". The crew definitely had fun shooting this.. really really well done.
The one shot is probably one of the best shots I've ever seen in film history. I don't want anyone to ever say anything bad about Chris Hemsworth, ever. The man is incredible.Golshifteh Farahani was also really amazing, I need more of her!
Agree. Hemsworth is forever in the pantheon of iconic action stars, and Farahani is a queen. Her train scene was SICK. Cannot wait to see more of these two in action.
As a Georgian I'm so happy that Hollywood finely recognized our country 😂😂, Georgian actors gave their best performance and i hope Georgia will appear on big screens again
@@joker73213 was about to say so as well. Xd. Im russian and Levan is very popular in Russia as well. Shame if he really didn't know him. Saginashvili tho*, not Laginshavali xd. I know, Georgian names are hard to spell in English) but u gotta say right

This movie was an absolute blast. Better than the first for me, and Hemsworth proves that he deserves a full Hollywood-funded John Wick style film series. What a fantastic actor. He was made for action films like this.
I just loved how they one upped themselves with the one shot. They went from 12-13mins in the first movie, and now a 21min one shot. That's just mind blowing.
Georgian here. Man, I wish we were represented in a lighthearted movie for once. Those actors are pretty famous here. Chris speaking Georgian is so surreal. Those actors names are pronounced Tor-ni-ke not Tornik. "Nagazi" means shepherd. There's a lot of them here.
The one take action sequence just blew my mind away. Also, I found this one to be more emotional with rich character depths compared to the first film. The action sequences were phenomenal. Can't wait for the third to release...
Man I'm a luckiest person when the time Chris Hemsworth visits the Philippines to promote his movie Extraction 2 in Manila for meet and greet both Hemsworth and Hargrave and to watch the premiere. It made more special because those are my first time to have a close interaction with a Hollywood Actor and to watch a special advance screening. What a lifetime moment for me 💓
Sam Hargrave second Unit director from Infinity War and Endgame is the go to guy for capturing one take character moment action sequences just like Chad Stahleski for his Extraction films. Those oner transition sequences are so impressive in Extraction film(s).
For me the extraction movies are now surpassing john wick. The choreography in the both movies is on another level. The first one for me is still the best but this was so enjoyable to watch. Chris Hemsworth is perfect for this role, looks powerful, looks good and looks like he took his military training deadly serious. Top top movies and cant wait for the 3rd one.
I just saw the second Extraction movie. So freaking good!!! So much better than the first one! As Austrian I am also pleasantly surprised that Austria was such a huge part of the movie and that they filmed A LOT in Vienna! The only Issue I have is that the Prison fight was during the night and suddenly when the jumped into the car it was daylight
33:54 the “gotta gut him first” is actually a really common close quarters gun drill called the “Mozambique.” Two to the chest, one to the head. That’s also the standard take down you see John Wick use.
@@rileymorrisroe6743 it’s the same thing. “Mozambique drill,” “failure drill,” “failure to stop drill,” all the same thing. It’s just a technique for efficiently putting an advancing target down. Just give them a nice lil dirt nap.
Hemsworth using the military “shield” then his arm getting caught on “fire” after only made me think of Evans lol. Russos little subtle Cap and Human Torch easter egg for me. 😂
Netflix took an entire 2nd unit and said do your thing lets see what you got. my god the Director of photography and stunt co ordinator deserves Oscars for this OMG
Sam’s prior experiences of being a stunt double, stunt choreographer puts him in a very unique position for cinematography as he know where and when and what the best possible angle to place a camera so he’s shaping up to be one of the best action choreographers and cameramen of our generation
I don't know what has better action john wick 4 or extraction 2. John wick has style finesse and beautiful visuals. Extraction has a visceral gritty intense tone and pace throughout. Chris does better acting by a small amount. Both have long ass oners. Im edging on extraction because in general I prefer grittiness and tone in execution. Tough choice. Its criminal that this movie isn't getting the theatrical experience and attention it so clearly deserves.
Yeh i think Chris's acting is definitely steps above Keanu and the character is has more depth. JW seems to be more fun and stylized whereas this more brutal and realistic, and the characters feel more human.
I was surprised to see Levan in the movie. As a big fan of arm wrestling getting to se an absolute beast of an arm wrestler playing a small villain role felt surprising and amazing👌💯
I saw some behind the scenes clips on the extended action sequence, and yes, they actually do hand the camera off to someone else for some shots. Specifically when going from in and around the cars. It's pretty insane to watch the camera crew do these things. They almost have to be stuntmen themselves.
After seeing Tom Cruise's latest MI movies, and then John Wick IV, I thought I'd seen it all. But I was wrong. Mindblowing action movie. The whole cast, led by the unbelievably talented Mr. Hemsworth (if Australia were a monarch he'd be "Sir Chris" by now), and every department brought their A+++ game. I love action movies, and this is now in my all time Top 3.
You got the Cabin In The Woods callback, but did you not also catch the reference to his stint on Dancing With the Stars? Yes, Chris Hemsworth DID compete on that program for real. And he was very good, especially in the Latin dances - good hip action.
😂 "I have so much adrenaline!" Same here my dude. I had to pause and take a break during this scene and a few others since I felt overwhelmed with energy.
I won’t lie. The 21 minute oner is so good I’ve tried to watch this movie twice and can’t finish it because of how exhausted I am after. Glad to see I wasn’t alone.
The big guy is Levan Saginashvili the world champion arm wrestler, I was shocked and so happy to see him in the film. Called the Georgian Hulk so appropriate first film haha.
🤣🤣🤣 Cuts are used to tell a story that spans days/months/years in a few hrs. If they make a movie without a cut scene that will have a sh*t story line.
Such a cool action flick and takes everything to the next level. The One Shot Prison Scene is the best one since Daredevil Season 3. Hemsworth is so good and hope they make a third one and it's in theaters. Hope Tom Hiddleston is the villain in the third one.
Man this one shot sequence and the one from John wick are close rn. I think the John wick one was better for me simply for the uniqueness of it but I still loved both oner action sequences.
I swear, those cam action, prison fight, scratching the wrist to the broken window glass, stuck in a tall Building situation, really reminded me of The Raid.
I can't believe we've gotten John Wick and Extraction 2 in the same year. Both with kickass one shot scenes that completely break the mold. Get more stuntmen involved with movie direction!
The thing with the oners in the series is that they give me the desired effect. I am so engrossed in those sequences, that i realise a bit later into the scene that it is supposed to look like one shot.
The "big guy" in the enemy forces is actually the number 1 arm wrestler in the world right now. He is actually Georgian and his name is levan saginashvili
Plot twist cameo at the end, Sylvester Stalone as Rambo just chilling, and Arnold just strolls by with Keanu as a officer boom the shooting shit avengers
Ahhh, there’s a shot during “his recovery” where he’s watching TV, and I’m pretty sure “Dancing with the Stars” is on screen. C.H. was on the Aussie version back in the day…
Just finished the movie this morning. Fantastic, just like the first. My only complaint is that with his first rifle in the prison he never flips the magnifier down. For the type of CQB he’s doing, you wouldn’t want that magnifier cuz it would just make it harder to see. But all the other gun work is great. Reloads are spot on (and actually exist), they’re fire in semi auto instead of unrealistic full auto, his use of the LPVO on the rifle later, clearing and checking weapons, and bad guys actually using accurate AK pattern weapons instead of everyone just having old Soviet AK47’s they’re actually using AKM’s AK103’s I think Zurab has a zenitco AK105 in 545x39. As an AK appreciator, I loved all of that.
That roof scene was bananas, to still have the strength to hold on to your love while getting shot in the hand, good job 👏🏾 & he should've jumped down there & finished him off, you already took out his younger bro, just finish it, or maybe don't knock him out when he falls, he just stands there looking at each other.

Ok, imagine this: Sam Hargrave, Chad Stahelski, Tim Miller, David Leitch and Gareth Evans teams up to create a next-gen action era for movies and series. Just imagine...what a Heaven :DDD
This was probably the longest AND most intense one shot I’ve EVER seen🔥. From the prison break to the motorcycle and hummer chase and then the helicopter chasing the train. Christ Hemsworth taking down the helicopter from the train looked like a scene out of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. I hope Sam Hargrave directs more, bigger budget action movies.
