I flew on Nepal Airlines A330 from Dubai to Kathmandu as the beginning of my flying adventure in the Himalayas.
I met Captain Vijay Lama onboard, he is a local celebrity and UA-camr in Nepal. The flight time to Kathmandu was 4 hours across the Indian subcontinent. Shortly after takeoff, a beautiful sunrise appeared as we fly to the East. Nepal Airlines crew showed me their uniform and food offering on the flight.
The weather was good enroute. Before landing, many tall mountains appeared on the horizon. 8 of the world’s top 10 highest peaks are in Nepal. We can see Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Fishtail, Manaslu, and many tall mountain peaks. The landing into Kathmandu is very exciting with mountains and high terrain around. Watch the final approach from the cockpit.
Next week, I will share my experience flying to Mount Everest by helicopter. This is a once-a-lifetime experience.

I love Nepal i flown twice to Kathmandu once in day and once at night. In the day flight we saw Everest and the night flight on approach we could just see distant fires in the small villages on the hills outside of Kathmandu...amazing! Lovely people in Nepal!!

@@islandcactus1508 unlike any other countries, people follow more than 10 known religions, and nepal is composed of more than 125 ethnic groups and despite such diversities there has never been violence recorded in the name of religion or ethnicity. Crime rate is very low. Since maoist revolution there has never been terrorism activities in nepal. More than 320000 tourists has already visite nepal in past 8 months including popular vloggers too and the feedback is very positive. Dont point with just one incident. That was very unfortunate incident. No thing is perfect in the world. Everybody knows our hospitality and generosity. You wont know until you visit Nepal. You're welcome to Nepal. Indeed a safest country to visit.

I flew to Kathmandu from Delhi 30 years ago and it truly is one of the most spectacular flights I know of!!! We also did a Himalaya flight whilst we were there but I got so motion sick, I missed much of it!
It was a breathtaking hill view while landing at Kathmandu airport, the captain was so friendly in explaining the most dangerous approach of this airport.

Seeing himalays in the northern Nepal and big hills in the south before landing in Kathmandu is breath taking. Never forget when airlines decend between hills before landing that is another experience not sure sam chui noticed that

When you are flying along the Himalayas in a big commercial plane on the cruising altitude and peaks are at your height it is just mind blowing. Experienced that 4 times on the way in and out of Kathmandu, made some amazing photos, still can't believe I saw that with my own eyes 😍 Have to go back to Nepal some day, love the country and Himalaya

Sam a wonderful video as usual btw its a small world indeed ,Capt Vijay Lama & me were classmates in a boarding school in Darjeeling India apart from a pilot Hollywood /Nepal Actor singer also is a very good tennis player representing Nepal
Reminded me of the time when I was 13-14 years old and I used to go to this grass field right outside the fence of this particular airport in Kathmandu in the evenings and lie there on my back lining up straight with the runway and watch huge planes land and take off and fly right over me. I can’t explain how that felt. It was a little scary I’m not gonna lie 😅. I lived only 10 mins away from there.

You are such a positive guy Sam, you treat everyone with respect. The business class product on this airline is probably not on par with some that you have experienced before but you put people before product as you stated in your intro. There is so much mess on tv that for true relaxation I come to this channel ;-)
Fun fact: the management team decided to assign Cpt. Vijay Lama, who was actually bound to fly another flight, just because Sam Chui was boarding this aircraft!
Fun fact. The pilot has been suspended for allowing a random UA-camr in the cabin without a prior approval from higher authorities.

@@blacked2670 it's true though. Bijay Lama was suspended because of this incidence. I guess he's already back to work now which leaves me wondering if he (Lama) would've allowed an ordinary Nepalese vlogger flying in the economy class to come straight to the cockpit and film everything.

Please write a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and explain that you were no harm to the flight and other passengers. I can't imagine how many passports you have filled up!😉 But flying is more than just the aircraft it is the people who work on it everyday, the people you meet on the plane, then of course it is the service, comfort, for both economy and 1st class. I do like how you are branching out and showing that city or country more I love it. When you were Beruit I had to show a couple good friends from their that own a restaurant that iis my favorite and they both were so thrilled. I love planes and space, I love watch those planes take off and land, if I ever won the lottery I will pay Jeff bezos for a seat to take a ride up and down. Would you if you could?
