I love it 🥰 The technique is truly amazing and so much faster than with a hand brush 😉🎨 Don’t get me wrong ... there is a wonderful feeling about holding a painters brush and getting creative 😉💙 But with larger pieces of furniture and for those that might find the colour meshing technique easier to get the results they are looking for ... The Reclaimed Heirloom Oh I’m so excited to try this technique and plan on using your link to order the meshing tool! And I think this is part of what sets you apart from so many others...you could have easily kept this amazing and creative technique all to yourself, and yet without thinking twice, you chose to share with us. Now I wouldn’t blame you one bit if one day you choose to do things differently because like soooo many others, you could easily be charging a pretty penny for these tutorials. And if you ever do decide to pursue that road, I just want you to know that wouldn’t make you any less of the kind hearted person you are now, and without hesitation, I would continue to follow and gladly pay for a teacher as great as you! 🥰 ♥️Sarah

Luv2 Cre8 ... I am taken by your kindness Sarah, and just beyond tickled that you take the time to write such kind words and truly appreciate every word! There are so many people with the love to create and want to learn how. I honestly make more when I see people growing and succeeding so I don’t mind sharing via UA-cam. When people have shared their projects... it means a lot more than payed tutorials... it feels like a real energy that comes to UA-cam access ... when people can freely watch and create without worrying about $ .... I feel like people don’t have any pressure but to truly explore their creativity... so again that value can’t be bought! Thank you again for your support 🤗💕

You have inspired me to do some painting on my own at my house revamping my existing furniture (so much cheaper than buying new!).... love the exit music who is it?
Very, very beautiful and glamorous. Your technique opened my mind...first of all, it is effective. Can you tell me what water glaze is basically, so I can look for it in my country. Is it an Annie Sloan product? Is it some kind of water based polish? Thanks a lot!
Hi Its a product that you can find in paint shops like benjamin moore. I have a few more videos on my channel that go into more details about glaze. I have a video list called Glaze you may like! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy today's new video! ❤️🎨🙏
I love this technique!! So does the application itself leave lines at all from the tool you use? And if so, do they level out so you can’t see them? I would assume they do because it’s chalk paint, but I wasn’t sure if the glaze made a difference with that. Thanks!
Hi Christina. I am having trouble in finding a water based clear glaze to order online where I live,, Liverpool in England. Could I use a water based clear lacquer t get the same effect? Many thanks, Nicky x P.S Your tutorials are amazing!
Hi Nicky!! Can you find Acrylic based glaze? I used this mainly for my glazing projects. If you can go to a home improvement store or a Arts/Craft store and ask them for a acrylic glaze they may have it. If you go to my amazon store, (link is in my video description) you can see the glazes listed and maybe you can show these brands to your local store to help you find an equivalent. I hope this helps!! ❤️🎨🙏
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Hi Christina. Ah, I wasn't sure whether you could use an acrylic glaze on top of chalk paint, but if you can, then yes, I can get acrylic glaze. Many thanks, Nicky x
Staci Hartman ... that is fantastic 👏👏👏 The meshing tool is light to hold and easy cleaning!! You will love 💕 this technique! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 😉🎨💙💙
Hi Christina! I love this technique as well! It totally looks like a grade school chalkboard eraser! Im sure you have heard that before! I will get my hands on one of those next to add to my "miracle repertoire " of goodies! I do have a question about not priming your piece first. Especially an old piece. Other artists don't do it either and I wonder about tannins. Thanks for a great tutorial. Also do you sell a majority of your work or use in your own home?
Christina, I absolutely love your videos. They are very informative and your work is just gorgeous. Just wondering, do you prefer the Wooster Pro meshing tool or the one you used in this video? I can't wait to try this technique using either tool. Thanks for all the helful videos you make.
Sara Wallace ... thank you so much for your kind comment 🙏🎨 and feedback. The Wooster pro is probably best because it’s lighter both work the same and the larger one is great for larger surface areas. The Wooster does have a proper handle which of course is nice 👍🏻 Both wash up really easy and you don’t need to replace the pad. Thank you so much for watching and your kind words 💙💙
I love the colors you chose for this...gonna steal it for my next project. That sponge brush brings in such a smooth sweet blend. Nice invention Christina. I'm working on a wicker side table...never chalked wicker before, still going for it, I'm sure I'll have to use a brush for blending tho, but it'll be fun seeing how that goes. Have you worked on wicker? Love to hear your advice.
kim jensen LOL you made my day!!! There is always one thumbs down when I post. It’s nice that when I see there are so many awesome positive comments and thumbs up from you all that counters the negative, It’s so greatly appreciated and I want to thank each one of you!!!Thanks!!!! 💕🙏🎨
kim jensen Hi Kim! Glad you liked it!!! Too funny you read my mind!!! I just picked up a wicker piece of furniture this past weekend!!!! I have not done one yet and I am planning to paint it this weekend. That video should available in two weeks time I am currently working on another piece this week which that video will be out next week. 🙏🎨
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Oh wow! Right on! I have only spray painted wicker, which makes total sense with all its grooves...I am looking forward to seeing how you chalk yours!!!
If your glaze starts to dry while you’re blending, do you add water or more glaze? (I haven’t tried using glaze yet, but your videos are so inspiring, I think I’m going to!)
Hi Shannon, just add more glaze, you can also use glaze extender which will help the glaze not from drying out so fast. I have a new video out today, I hope you like it! ❤️🎨🙏
Hola Cristina, se puede dar ese efecto de difuminado y mezclar los colores perfectamente sin usar el glaze? . Espero tu respuesta Cristina ya que estoy por pintar un mueble . Gracias , saludos y bendiciones 😘✌🏻🙏🏻✌🏻🇲🇽
Hi Shanwa, if you go to main channel and look at my video lists look for chalk paint meshing and you will see the videos listed there. For this one, I believe there was only one part. For my first meshing video (pink coloured piece) it was a 2 part video. I gave a lot of details on that video for meshing. ❤️🙏🎨
Lisa Avery ... thank you so much Lisa for your kind comment 🙏💙 You can find the meshing tool I was using in the description box just below the the tutorial... there is a black arrow pointing down just click that and it shows you all the products used and when you click the product it directs you automatically to amazon. Hope this helps 😉💙💙
Hi Christina, it seems to me that maybe one can by pass the base different coats of placing the paints where you want them to go before doing the clear glaze. How would painting the entire piece in the mixed color of Aubusson Blue and Olive, letting it dry, then adding the clear glaze with the coordinating colors on top for the meshing? Would it work this way?
Maria Alvarez ... absolutely!! There is no way of doing base to glaze then add meshing technique, I generally like to see where I want the colours to be place before hand for my personal visual but you can definitely by pass and place the base and glaze which works for you too! Definitely place the colours down that work best your vision! I actually think some people would find it much easier to place a full base coat first then mesh from there! That is totally fine 🎨😉🤗
You paint beautifully & you’re amazing! Can this be done with regular latex paint & not chalk paint without priming first? Your videos rock! Thank you! AAA+++
Amy Broudy ... thank you so much Amy for your thoughtful comment and feedback 🙏💙💙 As for latex paint 🎨 I am not sure 🤔 only because I have never done a furniture project with latex before. With latex being an oil base I would probably recommend a primer first. I would ask a local paint shop in your area based on the brand of paint you have and any steps to prep for , they will give better advice then I could for latex 😉. I really appreciate your kind words 🎨💙💙
So. The mesh brush just sits on a towel or paper waiting to be used . inbetween adding the Glaze and paint.colors.. Meaning its dry ??? Gosh i hope u get what im asking.. This is SO BEAUTIFUL
dora lee ... thank you so much for your comment and question! 🙏🎨 The paper towel or clean cloth is only for off loading paint and glaze as you work! So you have a build up on the meshing applicator as you are working! Just give it a wipe as you are working to remove build up of paint and glaze! Hope with helps 💙💙🤗
Hi As usual lovely finish. I have a question please: which is better for blending colors, blend colors when they are both dry and activate them with water, or, blend them when colors is still wet? Also, when you blend do you blend with a third clean brush, I am asking because if I use the light color brush to blend with the darker color, i can not use it to go back to my white color as an example? My question is a general one and not only about chalk paint? Is there another method for blending? I know that the question with the brush sounds stupid, sounds like a stupid person who did not see tens of videos about blending, but I really did lot of blendings but it coasted me so much paint and hours to achieve it, I thought maybe you can advice me what is the best method to blend. I really love your work and your finishes are special compared with others to me. Thank you in advance for your help and understanding, sorry for the long massage. Best wishes always.
Maha Zappa ... thank you so much 🙏💙 for your kind comment and feedback . As for your questions... there is no better than another way to blend chalk paint, it is really about what works best for you!! 😉 In my UA-cam channel there are some short demos on ombré blending that might be very helpful for you to take a watch when you have a moment 👍🏻🎨 The key with any blending is water to paint ratio ... so it is important to make sure your brush is moist first ( not saturated) just moist and as you apply your paint and add any colours ... add small amounts of water 💦, if you feel the paint is not moving smoothly add more water not to much but add as you go! The colour meshing technique is really nice because the the thickness of the tool does most of the blending but based on your comment... I would advise you to try the clear glaze ... with clear glaze added to your chalk paint you don’t need to add water which might make it easier for to get better with your blending technique! 😉🎨 Just work in small sections at a time and remember... have fun!! 😉💙💙 Hope this helps 💕
I have never seen this technique, and it’s BEAUTIFUL, looks like so much fun!! I have a question, hope it’s not a silly one! Lol the item you are using to do the blending, I know you said it was for floors. It seriously looks like a sponge mop head. Would any kind of sponge mop head and even sponge roller heads work? Or dies it have to be the ones you have listed and if so, why? I just like knowing “why” I am using a specific product, technique etc. I live your work and really love your step by step instructions!!
Hi Kim, Based on what you are describing I understand your comment! I have used only these types of meshing tools to get the desired effects. The meshing tools either has a synthetic material or its natural wool. I have tried using a sponge (similar to what is on a traditional mop) and I did not get the same blending effects like I get with the ones I have described in my video. I hope this helps!! Thanks for subscribing to my channel!! :)
Just curious~Are you waiting for the Country Grey & Honfleur to dry before applying the Graphite? Or just getting the paint on there? And also You're using a "Clear Glaze" what exactly did you use here? a gel medium, or glazing medium?
Jena LeBlanc-Webb ... thanks so much for watching 🙏💙 I applied the clear glaze ( clear glaze effects water base by general finishes) before the paint, you want to do all your paint blending while the glaze is moist. I don’t wait for anything to dry first , the clear glaze is giving you the working time and the balance of working with clear glaze is for the blending to have more control with your blending process. You can use any clear glaze products I recommend that it is water base 😉🎨 Hope this helps 💗 Thanks for watching 🙏
What kind of brushes do you use? And as you put paint on over wet paint of a different color do you still re-dip in the full can of paint? Do you worry about contaminating your colors in their cans?
Kr Wilson ... So in the video I mentions I used chippy bushes for this project... I use a different brush for each colour when I work from the can so I don’t contaminate the colours. You can pour out your paint separately and use the same brush if that is easier as well .... if you view my previous view on “Colour Meshing” it is a Scandinavian Pink Armoire... I made a longer very detailed video and you exactly what I do with my paint ... this tutorial is a refresher and showing another example of colour meshing with more contrast colour palate. You can use any brush you wish ... it’s the meshing tool that does the final results in the end. Hope this helps and thanks so much for watching 🙏💙
Gwen Buller ... so the original tool to use the meshing technique was the “water wiz” which is a synthetic applicator and it is longer and great for larger furniture pieces. The “Wooster wool pro” is a real wool meshing applicator again same technique just a different tool but is great for smaller pieces. Both work the same and are easy to use. Also both wash up very well with soap and water and repeat use. Hope this helps 😉🎨💙
This is beautiful! I LOVE that you really explain the process.👏👏👏👏💜

It was well worth the wait and I must say, you have outdone yourself with this beauty!😍 I swear, every new piece you paint becomes my new favorite but oh my goodness, I have extra love for this one.🥰
Luv2 Cre8 ... thank you so much for your absolutely sweet comment you made my day just reading it!
I am so happy you like this tutorial and the final results! I love it 🥰
The technique is truly amazing and so much faster than with a hand brush 😉🎨
Don’t get me wrong ... there is a wonderful feeling about holding a painters brush and getting creative 😉💙
But with larger pieces of furniture and for those that might find the colour meshing technique easier to get the results they are looking for ... I am so happy to share these techniques and show the concept up close to providing examples!
Thank you so much again for your kind words and support it truly means the world to read this 🤗❤️
The Reclaimed Heirloom
Oh I’m so excited to try this technique and plan on using your link to order the meshing tool! 🥰
♥️Sarah
Luv2 Cre8
She is so creative that she doesn’t need to hide any technics.
As she will create another “crazy “ good one. Fun to learn, to try and to watch.

Espero hacer más técnicas en el futuro para que todos puedan aprender de ellas. gracias por suscribirte significa mucho! ¡Es muy agradable saber de los fanáticos de todo el mundo! 💕🙏🎨
You have inspired me to do some painting on my own at my house revamping my existing furniture (so much cheaper than buying new!).... love the exit music who is it?
Thank you so much!!! I am not sure its stock music ❤️🙏🎨
Thanks!
Hi there, gorgeous work. Can I ask what your using for the messing effect?
I bought the meshing tool and the glaze. Now I need to decide what colors I want to play with. 😁
Staci Hartman ... that is fantastic 👏👏👏
The meshing tool is light to hold and easy cleaning!! You will love 💕 this technique!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 😉🎨💙💙
Staci Hartman ...ps... please send a photo of your completed project design... I would absolutely love to see your beautiful work 💙
I missed whether u let paint dry before glaze...love this
absolutely amazing!!!!! I want to ask you what is the "spong" you use it.
Beautiful, just beautiful! Which meshing tool are you using? The synthetic or wool one?
Wow!
New sub.

Hello thqnk you very much for sharing this, where exactly is part 2 because I can't find it anywhere, thanks again its lovely
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy today's new video! ❤️🙏🎨
The Wooster does have a proper handle which of course is nice 👍🏻
Both wash up really easy and you don’t need to replace the pad.
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words 💙💙
Don't forget about that corduroy tool 😜❤
Amber Young ... I already ordered 😉🤗
I am super excited to try this tool!
Thanks so much for mentioning this to me 💙...
Hi Christina, would it look cool to mesh then do a verdigris? Just curious... I am devouring your videos.!
Great idea! ❤️🎨🙏
Love your work ❤
Where do I get a meshing Tool Please
I love the colors you chose for this...gonna steal it for my next project. That sponge brush brings in such a smooth sweet blend. Nice invention Christina. I'm working on a wicker side table...never chalked wicker before, still going for it, I'm sure I'll have to use a brush for blending tho, but it'll be fun seeing how that goes. Have you worked on wicker? Love to hear your advice.
(there is 1 dislike on this vid...proof that there really are As**oles for hire on YT!)

LOL you made my day!!! There is always one thumbs down when I post. It’s nice that when I see there are so many awesome positive comments and thumbs up from you all that counters the negative, It’s so greatly appreciated and I want to thank each one of you!!!Thanks!!!! 💕🙏🎨

Hi Kim!
Right on! I have only spray painted wicker, which makes total sense with all its grooves...I am looking forward to seeing how you chalk yours!!!
kim jensen indeed!
Beautiful. Where can 1 get the nest tool?
Hola Cristina, se puede dar ese efecto de difuminado y mezclar los colores perfectamente sin usar el glaze? . Espero tu respuesta Cristina ya que estoy por pintar un mueble . Gracias , saludos y bendiciones 😘✌🏻🙏🏻✌🏻🇲🇽
THANK YOU! Can you give me link for video 2? I couldn't find it on the list.
Hi Shanwa, if you go to main channel and look at my video lists look for chalk paint meshing and you will see the videos listed there. For this one, I believe there was only one part. For my first meshing video (pink coloured piece) it was a 2 part video. I gave a lot of details on that video for meshing. ❤️🙏🎨
Where can I purchase the sponge. Can’t wait to try this. I love your work.
Lisa Avery ... thank you so much Lisa for your kind comment 🙏💙
You can find the meshing tool I was using in the description box just below the the tutorial... there is a black arrow pointing down just click that and it shows you all the products used and when you click the product it directs you automatically to amazon.
Thank you! AAA+++
Amy Broudy ... thank you so much Amy for your thoughtful comment and feedback 🙏💙💙
As for latex paint 🎨 I am not sure 🤔 only because I have never done a furniture project with latex before.
The paper towel or clean cloth is only for off loading paint and glaze as you work!
So you have a build up on the meshing applicator as you are working!
Just give it a wipe as you are working to remove build up of paint and glaze! Hope with helps 💙💙🤗
Hi
As usual lovely finish.
In my UA-cam channel there are some short demos on ombré blending that might be very helpful for you to take a watch when you have a moment 👍🏻🎨
The key with any blending is water to paint ratio ... so it is important to make sure your brush is moist first ( not saturated) just moist and as you apply your paint and add any colours ... add small amounts of water 💦, if you feel the paint is not moving smoothly add more water not to much but add as you go!
The colour meshing technique is really nice because the the thickness of the tool does most of the blending but based on your comment... I would advise you to try the clear glaze ... with clear glaze added to your chalk paint you don’t need to add water which might make it easier for to get better with your blending technique! 😉🎨
Just work in small sections at a time and remember... have fun!! 😉💙💙
Hope this helps 💕
Will this paint stand up to outdoor weather year round with extreme heat, humidity and cold weather?
So could you use this technique over saltwash / texture?
Just curious~Are you waiting for the Country Grey & Honfleur to dry before applying the Graphite? Or just getting the paint on there? And also You're using a "Clear Glaze" what exactly did you use here? a gel medium, or glazing medium?
Jena LeBlanc-Webb ... thanks so much for watching 🙏💙
I applied the clear glaze ( clear glaze effects water base by general finishes) before the paint, you want to do all your paint blending while the glaze is moist. I don’t wait for anything to dry first , the clear glaze is giving you the working time and the balance of working with clear glaze is for the blending to have more control with your blending process.
You can use any clear glaze products I recommend that it is water base 😉🎨
Hope this helps 💗
Thanks for watching 🙏
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom OMG yes, very helpful! Thank u soo much for clearing that up for me! Your projects come out so beautifully, I
What kind of brushes do you use?
The Reclaimed Heirloom thank you so much for your response! very helpful, I will look for your other video as well.
Kr Wilson ... if you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 😉🎨💙
Was it wooster that makes the blending tool that you used in a previous video? And who makes the meshing tool?
Gwen Buller ... so the original tool to use the meshing technique was the “water wiz” which is a synthetic applicator and it is longer and great for larger furniture pieces. The “Wooster wool pro” is a real wool meshing applicator again same technique just a different tool but is great for smaller pieces. Both work the same and are easy to use. Also both wash up very well with soap and water and repeat use.
Hope this helps 😉🎨💙
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Thank you so much! Your videos have been so helpful for this newbie.
What tool are you using for the mesh technique
