... my apologies with the footage around 12 mins into the tutorial.... I should have added the correction to my own mistake on the paint pulling back... only reason I did not add the correction footage... as it was my mistake not letting the base coat completely dry... I made sure to write that in my written box to wait till completely dry ... I did not use my own own step lol.
If this happens ... it’s one of two reasons... 1st the paint of the base coat was not completely dry ( what you saw here in the tutorial) or two ... the piece may not have been clean enough from the TSP varnish remover... I have had that happen in previous projects... my advice to very old worn pieces that you bring home is to clean it the best you can (TSP and tablespoon of bleach) and you may want to add a quick primer coat before you start your paint project. This just saves you time and labor as an alternative 😉...
I do try my hardest to make the tutorials, detailed and condensed from hours of footage ranging from 6-8 hours into 15-20 mins so your able to get the detail without the lengthy process.... so I did not add my correction but in the future I will add a comment in the project... what to do and alternative corrections to help you... thanks so much for watching 🙏😉😉

Nikki Lloyd ... this piece had many negative 👎 comments and some pretty rude feedback because I change the vanity into end tables 🤔
The problem is ... in today’s world we live in smaller homes and square footage so vanity pieces like this were great 👍🏻 when at the 1940’s when we lived in larger homes and had more people per household. But the objective I wanted to create was to recycle ♻️ beautiful pieces into something we still can use! As an interior designer you may note that smaller spaces generally look better with lighter colours and tones... anyhow the project is all subjective in opinion I guess!
Anyhow the people that now own this end tables absolutely love them ❤️ so I guess I did something right! 😉🎨

      You are absolutely right!
As a creator on UA-cam it is one thing I didn’t realize until I got into making videos that I would come across?
I love the fact that we have all this amazing information and videos at our fingertips... I would never in a million years think 🤔... to hop onto a creators channel and express my negative 👎 opinion on what I dislike about how they painted or created something?
      Especially for a “free” tutorial!
The simple rule I was taught as a 5 year old is to keep your negative opinions to yourself...
but constructive feedback is absolutely appreciated... I guess I am trying to say , some folks need to have a visit from the “manners fairy 🧚‍♀️ “ or take a class at charm school lol 😂
It’s really important to me that this channel is a positive place for anyone to feel safe and respected even in the comments .

Carla Haight .... thank you 🙏 Carla for your kind feedback... this are truly beautiful Art Deco pieces from many generations ago but sadly we don’t have the space for this pieces anymore... so up cycling them to bring them back to use. This technique is super easy and you don’t have to blend different colours like I did as your base... you can simply paint one colour then do the Frottage technique... I recommend picking a lighter colour tone for your base and a dark tone for the Frottage technique ... I have tried the other way and looks more washed with less definition... just a suggestion 😉

At 12:00 minutes in when you peeled off the news paper, and it took every layer of paint off that you put on the piece. You should have shown the patch work to blend it back in instead of pausing the camera. As a painter, it happens more often than not.

      Sammy Davis
Hi Sammy... I could have shown the clip of that but the fact that I explain to wait for your layers to dry and that end table was not completely dry ... so I didn’t feel it was appropriate to show ... I thought it was the first end table but I started with the second and if the underlying coat is not completely dry ... that can easily happen. It’s best not to make instructions and not follow through yourself... in the tutorial it describes to wait until completely dry... so it was probably best not to show why I mentioned that step lol ... but thanks for making comment ...

      Tatiana Marinaki
Hi Tatiana, thanks for reaching out much appreciated! Glad you liked the end table transformation! I am thinking about premium live voice video master class tutorials in the future, which will be more detailed step by step but, I am still thinking about the format. The difficulty I have is one paint project could be up to 12 hours for me to complete and what I currently do is film the entire set and compress that into a approximately 15 min video for everyone to view. The good thing in my videos all the information is in the text boxes so the volume can be muted on your UA-cam player without missing out on any of my tips. It’s definitely a work in process! Thanks for watching! I am working on another video today which I hope to publish this weekend! 🎨

On your UA-cam Player, see the the Speaker button, press it to mute volume. This will work for any UA-cam Video that you are watching. I hope this helps.
