I actually find Froslass’s Shield entry quite creepy: “After a woman met her end on a snowy mountain, her regrets lingered on. From them, this Pokémon was born. Its favorite food is frozen souls.”
It's basically a condensed version of the legend of the yuki-onna, a yokai born from the spirit of a woman who freezes to death in the mountain snow.

Ultra Sun entry for Aerodactyl
Restored from DNA found in amber, this Pokémon exhibited ferocity that was greater than expected. Some casualties resulted.
Thats some Jurassic Park stuff right there.
The item Old Amber has been used to revive Aerodactyl from the very beginning of the series, so it's been a giant Jurassic Park reference. This entry just takes it a step above that.
speaking of in gen7 there was this guy trying to make a pokemon version of Jurassic park , sucha misopprutnity to bring him back as the reason for all the roaming fossil pokemon in crown tundra
I know there is another theory suggest calyrex stopped the meteorite (according to the dex) and saved multiple pokemon ,hence people assume that is why fossil mons are in the wild
but then again they are all still part rock type kinda felt like they should have different type combo now that they are no longer trapped in fossil form

Scientists actually believe that archopterchs had to do that but the speed and distance were more appropriate to the real size of the creature
the gabite one isnt too big a surprise, super pokemon mystery dungeon on the 3ds had one as an early boss who attacked for that reason.

that reminds me of a fun comment thread I read once about an animal enthusiast being exasperated in Jurassic Park that the dinos had little to no enrichment and their enclosures were too small for their size. then someone pointed out the T rex tearing up that jeep and was like "look at her! she's having so much fun chasing it! she's been so deprived!" which is a kinda funny take but yeah. if hammond spared the expense to get the equivalent of giant cat toys, maybe the whole dinos attacking people thing could have been avoided lol :P

you know, looking back at these entries made me realize why pokemon would rather be enslaved by humanity rather than staying in the wilderness.
No clue honestly, maybe they look for challenges or new places to call home.
An interesting one is Miltank's Shield entry.
"This Pokémon needs to be milked every day, or else it will fall ill. The flavor of Miltank milk changes with the seasons"
That first part is what I find interesting. What if it's in the wild? What if it's trainer ya'know, doesn't know how to milk a cow?
Miltank is shown to be very chill and willing to share. I'm sure its trainer could have one of their other pokemon drink it. Or Miltank could shown them how.
Just like normal cows, but ok Miltank could have two options they are a domestic pokemon so they don't survive in the wild for too long or they share their milk with other pokémons

That could apply too most pokemon, I don't even know how the humans managed to train them, they could eliminate humankind if they wanted to... But I guess there's the power of friendship or something like that
Check out the page "Sinnoh Region's Mythology" for why pokemon even bother to help people. People and Pokemon helped each other out in the past and have been since we know Pokemon are sentient. Sinnoh had a lot of hidden lore when checking bookshelves. It even states that people in the Pokemon world might have even been pokemon in the past. My headcanon basically takes this and expands it upon it. A pokemon will follow you if you defeat it in battle as by then you have earned its respect.
In the olden times I think it started with, lets beat this pidgey with a stick and hope you don't die from their tackles to get a "starter" pokemon. Nowadays with advent of breeding and such, you can have a young impressionable pokemon given to trainers to do that pidgey beating for them.
@@DemonVermin yeah, I know about the lore and how humans used to marry Pokemon (I'm joking, I know is a bad translation) and I was exaggerating a bit before, but still, it's kind of amazing how the humans in the Pokemon world are still alive living alongside creatures that can destroy the world in a tantrum

You saw how Arceus can smack around the creation trio effortlessly when two of them having a minor hissy fit is enough to destabilize time and space in an area... and yet a human was able to design a trap for Arceus that brought it to its knees (well, before Ash went back in time to fix all that). Considering Pokemon that stick around trainers get stronger than wild ones and Pokemon are sapient enough to recognize and desire this, they kinda actively want to keep people around. Plus that way the legendries won't come smack them around for getting out of line (which, again, roll over wild Pokemon all day but have issues against co-ordinated efforts from trained Pokemon)

I wonder if we'll ever get a second Regigigas, like a regional form that's Ghost Type. The normal regigigas could be responsible for giving the other Regi's their bodies, while this new Ghost Regigigas would be responsible for forging the other regi's souls.

Yveltal does it on a grand scale which I think gets down played too much. When it's close to death, Yveltal will take the life force of everything on earth and go into a cocoon restoring it's life force.

The Choice Scarf means it can't change direction. So, um... Have fun watching your Archeops crash into everything.
So there's two interesting things about Regirock: First, it pretty much says that there are enough in the world that scientists were willing to just have one as dissect it.
Second, by them being surprised that it's made of only rock, from that we can assume that A. Other rock pokemon like Geodude have been dissected and B. That they have actual organs

The real question is about the dragon-type Regi, because dragons are living things unlike ice or rocks.
@@renookami4651 It is said that it’s created out of crystallize dragon energy, and funny enough it stated that Regigigas try to make a full dragon out of these crystals but it ran out of crystals, which is actually hilarious to me . Although another entry said it’s arms were actually pieces of that was from Maine of an ancient dragon, of course the Pokédex and treat itself states that this is unproving

Here is a fun fact about Gabites entry here! Its actually a reference to Super Mystery Dungeon, where he acts as the first boss after you accidentally wonder into its territory as it thinks your after its treasure.
I think it's more likely that its role in SMD is based on its Pokedex entry, since its Pokedex entry has talked about it hoarding gems and being targeted by thieves since Diamond and Pearl (long before SMD existed).

i just thought of something, has anyone translated the Japanese dex entries? I'm really curios to know if there any different.
Good idea. Unfortunately I don't do Japanese and only have a slight understanding of German so I don't feel sure on doing those ones, but there's definitely somebody out there that could.
I took a quick look and (with the help of google translate) it looks like the entries are effectively the same.
In fact, there's even a page on foreign pokedex entries on Bulbapedia and the entries all say the same thing.
I.E., "When Pikachus gather they create thunderstorms" repeated with slight variation for all the languages available.
As a japanese speaker, they are basically the same :/

When I caught regirock, I read that pokedex entry in a completely scientific fashion. I didn't find it creepy or scary that it didn't have a brain or a heart. For me, it was more like "Huh! Okay. That's interesting." It's not that scary when you think about the fact that he and his siblings were chunks of elements made animate. They were brought to life, and that doesn't ensure that they were brought to organic life. They just have sentience now, I guess xD lol!
Absolutely genius! From the animated intro to the reading of the Dex entries to coming back to Archeops, it was all well done--a la Magmar.

I didn’t mention this last time, but the entry from IoA that I remember the most is skrelp’s sword entry.
“It drifts in the ocean, blending in with floating seaweed. When other Pokémon come to feast on the seaweed, Skrelp feasts on them instead.”
Oh yeah, it's evolved form's poison is powerful enough to melt ships and send them to the bottom of the ocean. Probably so it can eat everyone aboard! >:3

I find Magmar's Sword dex entry interesting because Magmortar's Ultra Moon dex entry states that it avoids using its fire to hunt prey because it burns them to a crisp. So Magmortar basically learned something from experience...

anyone else thinking of...I think it was super mystery dungeon where you had to go to a cave to get a jewel and a gabite got mad and you had to fight it? it was either super mystery dungeon or gates to infinity
I can only imagine what madness will occur when Legends Arceus comes out. Heck, the Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark are already on the creepy end on the dex at this point.
Yeah Hisuian Zoroark’s Dex Entry says that it brings strong curses to its opponents by lacerating its own body.
