I was born and raised in Augusta, my take is if you want to raise a family that would be fine, however, if you are single and want more out of life this is not the place for you.
I was born and raised in Augusta GA, I remember the Bell's and JC Penny's on Broad St. When all the department stores were downtown. The first JB Whites in Augusta GA. I have walked downtown so much with my friends.
When a person talks about how honest he/she is at the outset of a video, it's a sure sign of ill confidence. Don't say you're honest...just BE honest and let your audience decide.
Hello love your video, my father who passed away n 2012 was from Augusta Martinez area. My family owned a strip of land called “Freeman drive” I haven’t been there since I was a little kid an I wanna get back an show my kids.Found ur channel looking for info on Martinez.Any thing would be helpful
I was born and raised there. Still have family there. Visit every so often and would not move back from California. Southside is a dump and dangerous. Westside is full of wannabe hipsters.
Some of the most backhandedly toxic people that I've met in my life, I met in Augusta. Full of false "southern charm" and surreptitious contempt for newcomers that will turn into outright hostility the very moment folks there feel that they have something over on you that they can express without consequences.
My sister moved to this area years ago, because of her career. Everyone referred to her as the Yankee and she was told by a co-worker that everyone still calls Northerners that, but that if they move there, they're called Damn Yankees. She still gets called that.
Towards downtown yeah, farther uptown it's Georgia-Pacific paper mill. What are they using to produce paper over there radioactive sewage? That stuff smells so bad and it lingers in the air from miles. 🤮
I like this presentation. I am looking to move to Columbia SC but watched this and I think at this time, Augusta is a good place to visit. I was gonna choose it to live, but I decided to give Columbia a shot instead.
I’m originally from Augusta and went to USC for college in Columbia. I personally think Columbia is a better city especially for someone my age. It just feels like there is a lot more to do. I know most people find their hometown boring but for Augusta’s size it feels like there is a huge lack of activities in the city.
Why not show pics of Augusta? Traffic may be busy but it keeps moving. Not everywhere is closed on Sunday. It's a very popular place, low cost of living. One week of Masters isn't bad, just plan ahead. Lots of military families, good schools, it's a good place to live, don't believe everything she says.
Thank you for the video and hope you sell many homes in 2021! My wife and I are coming from CA and I am trying to figure it out in regards where to move. Would value any input on the other areas you and your husband considered before moving there? Considering NC such as Raleigh area, Richmond Suburbs and possibly Charleston area. Not sure About Augusta. Any helpful comparison's appreciated. Trying to avoid hurricanes and tornados if possible.
@@LiquidKarma80 Hey Ryan appreciate more info from you regarding area. I live in the east bay and am interested in Augusta. Could you share some more things about what you like and what has taken time to get used to other than the weather. Thanks!
If you want to avoid tornados and hurricanes then Augusta is perfect. We barley even get any rain! NC is perfect if you want 4 seasons, Augusta has 2... cold and hot. Good luck!
Augusta (zip 30906), Georgia gets 46 inches of rain, on average, per year. The US average is 38 inches of rain per year. Augusta (zip 30906) averages 1 inches of snow per year. The US average is 28 inches of snow per year. Looks like Augusta get's more rain than average but maybe they get many sunny days too. Not sure
My hair has definitely gotten curlier with the humidity, but I can’t use anything with glycerin in it. Otherwise it sucks in so much more moisture from the air I look like a Chia pet.
@@carisma.144 My favorite is Tres Luxe. I used to buy it online but then one day I saw it at Walgreens! Their leave in conditioner smells like Christmas in a bottle and their hair gel is the best one I’ve used, and I’ve tried them all.
You should add to the cons: BORING! If you’re a younger person, there is a huge lack of activities in Augusta Georgia which almost feels ridiculous for the cities size. I moved to Columbia for college and I enjoy the city so much more.
Moving back there soon, I liked it,cept if you don't have a car,yr screwed, bad traffic, hot single girls..lots of babies so you know they put out.great bar scene, surprisingly enough, good live music scene.hulk Hogan,Brutus beefcake, and Larry fishburne from Aug. 70s,80s in march
It depends on a lot of things, like price and location of course, but in general it’s pretty simple. The rental market all over Georgia is very hot right now.
I live in agusta...and I know of countless things here like abandoned buildings..drugs and homeless people...alot..I helped at a food shelter here mostly when I was in middle school...it is dangerous to go alone..I don't recommend here..
Closed on Sundays are always the thing my dad is a preacher and my oldest memory is in church (Worst and best but overall the best..the food is good too)
I was born in Augusta. Lived there until 7 when my family moved to North Augusta. I would say a con is trains but mainly because train tracks are in a lot of places I go to and when I lived there, behind my house was a train track. Not that it is every where though.
Oh wow, it might be the small cit factor, not a ton of rentals, not much of a metro to Augusta and something tells me its tied to Atlanta somewhat, just being distant too. It seems to be the place that is excluded from Columbias metro but is also a few hours to Atlanta so might not be too much there, even if it is nice and some people can live there. I decided to choose Columbia SC but I was looking at Augusta also.
Rent to own only means you have the option to buy it at the end of the lease term. If you have no intention of buying it maybe you can negotiate a lower deposit.
Ok, if you're giving out Truth about Augusta, why is the intro video/pic in this video showing Savannah's River Street? Lay some truth on people by showing people that spooky old Broad Street in Augusta.

I was at Ft. Gordon in July 1978 at age 17 for basic and AIT from Saskatchewan , Canada no less. Quite a change but I loved it.
I can imagine that's quite a change! You traded snow for heat.
How did you enlist from Canada?

Thats right. If you want fun. You need to go 3 hrs to atlanta or 3 hrs to savannah
hello, can you please let me know which part of the Augusta is safe to live with family? South Augusta or North Augusta, SC or Grovetown?
Thank you for that
I have a question: where and what taxes do you pay if you work in south Augusta and live in Northern Augusta SC???

Oh my gosh, Penny's is such a blast from the past now, isn't it? Makes me feel old!
Whats the race situation by percentage?
This is awesome information. Thank you.

Great video! Shout out to Krystals on Central Avenue!LOL!
Boom! Thank you!
I'm thinking of transferring and relocating with my job. Im shopping for a reasonable priced small apartment in the city close to my job.
I will contact you very soon regarding new construction home
Sounds great!
Be careful with the moving companies here in Augusta. Five Star Moving Company in particular. They stole over $4500 of my valuables…..
have you ever been to Augusta, GA
i live there
I lived there for two years originally from huntsville al.. not much difference
Was this question to me? Yes, I live and work in Augusta, GA. - Kimberly

Con: When the wind shifts and you can smell everything from the Shapiro building. 🥴

Moved here 2yrs ago. The first time I smelled it I was gagging. Smells like a crematorium.
No alcohol on Sunday unless they serve food. Hotel rates super high during masters . lots of places to go fishing. Not everyone has a golf cart.
That’s changed

I want to move there!
Thinking of moving to Augusta. Is it safe? A little nervous about it. Moving with my husband and kid.
Moving is stressful but it's a great place. If you need any help just email us at info@georgiacoasthomes.com. Good luck!

My husband (who is Mexican) and I are thinking of moving from Nevada to Georgia with our 3 kids....how are interracial couples received in Augusta?
She says : "we have traffic" Hawaii has terrible traffic, San Diego has traffic...but Ft Gordon? 30 min no traffic, 31 min during rush hr.....
Agreed! We've stayed at the Hale Koa a bunch of times on Oahu and good grief, THAT is some traffic!!!
The Sabath is Saturday not Sunday.
Funny how the Bible belt doesn't know this 🤦🏿♂️

Of course! Email me at karin@georgiacoasthomes.com and we’ll get started. 👍
