You are so right Carlos! It's what makes living dowtown so pricey. People who love Georgia football usually desire to be within walking distance of the stadium. When were you in Athens last?
Great video. I have a friend who lived in Athens for several years and she said she loved this about it: the strong sense of community, the music scene, steeped in academia, it's intellectual, it's progressive (!), it's hilly (nice for hiking), always tons of interesting things to do. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for your the great review but... you (as most realtors do, sorry to say) did not mention enough about RENTALS and PUBLIC transportation. I am a retiree (not ready for a senior 'community' yet) checking out different small cities in the US. No offense but you left out information which is relevant and needs to be considered as well.
I like your video. I live in Athens. Been here 30 years. I don’t know about “gang problems” (as others suggest) you probably won’t run into those circles. I don’t. But the rental prices are extremely high for a small town. It’s on the level of Atlanta when it comes to rental prices. That’s my biggest peeve right now. Outside of that it’s a good place to live.
Hello and greetings from Texas. I discovered your channel searching for affordable rentals in Athens. If I may ask you a few questions; I'm a senior...where is the safest, most affordable area (can be outside Athens) for apartment rentals. How bad is the traffic? What areas would you recommend. I understand you sell homes, just thought I'd reach out. Mahalo....
Maholo @Nancy Salmon ! I am so glad you reached out to me. For assistance, about crime rates in certain areas of Athens, this website should be helpful for you. accpd-public-transparency-site-athensclarke.hub.arcgis.com/pages/crime. As far as apartment rentals in Athens, I would be happy to send you several connections of options for inside of the city that I believe would fit your needs AND right outside of the city, like Hull, Colbert, Watkinsville, Bogart, Royston, Lake Hartwell, etc. Since the word affordable is relative, let's chit chat about what that number would be for you, so it gives me an idea when I send you some options. Let's set up a time to chat! bit.ly/SellingBeeHomeToursCall 📱 Call or Text: 706-436-9434 📨 Email: sellingbeeinfo@gmail.com Either one of these forms of communication would work for me. I look forward to speaking with you Nancy! ✨🐝
I have very well-known family members who have lived in Athens-Clarke County and the surrounding Counties for over 100 years. I have visited the area all my life and it has changed so much. The best place to live is on the outskirts of the city. Because I see the city becoming a Atlanta in the next 5 to 20 years. Due to people from up north moving and taking people land. Just my opinion.
I don't understand how you can know so much about Athens and not understand it is a major historic town more so than Atlanta. Avoid certain area's mainly the west side of Athens. The lighting is poor and it just looks kind of sketchy. During the day it's fine though and the UGA police force patrols. Be careful who you hang out with and for the love do not run on the street I.E street runners people who run in the bike lane.
Your information is good, not Great. As a born "here", currently lives"here," moved & lived in many other States Individual.. "I am Lorax and speak for the trees" .A lot of of people fail to do the one thing, that is needed to obtain information about the neighborhoods and life style of long time residents that make this the Community, that everyone talks about in their blogs, channels and other media. Unless there is a connection from the grass root folk to those of you that advocate for Athens, the main point of living here, visiting here and moving here will be overlooked. There are good & bad people & places everywhere, so those people that experienced either in Athens, "keep living". Life will bring each, regardless of what city you reside. However; if you sit and talk to a Life long Athenian, A transitioned person and a UGA student, each of their stories will be a different reason as to why we stayed, (as locals) what brought others here, (to live) and the final one, Why do people not leave Athens?.. Because you point out a lot of great reasons, but there is a Story in the folds of this Great City, talk to a long time local resident and let the Trees speak every now & then. But THANKS for representing Athens and you are doing a FABULOUS job!
If you are over 40 years old, don’t move to Athens. The community is overwhelmed by UGA students. Everything revolves around the students. Crime is high. The only safe places are in the surrounding counties. It’s a great place for students, but that’s it. BTW, I lived in Athens and the Athens area for 30 years.
No wonder that you haven't had much views, with all that drama to start with, people don't trust your judgment. The most boring and sad haunted place in Georgia
Traffic is bad during game days.
That's one thing I remember from my visit. It's a very beautiful city.
Might end up there one day.

You just saved me. Looking for a safe place
DON'T COME! Homeless and Pill epidemic is HUGE PROBLEM!
I live in Athens, the crackheads, drug dealers and homeless people are a grossly serious problem here!
That is a problem everywhere
