I would also say this is a great starter bike for plus size people.. I weighed in at about 420 pounds when I first started using this exact bike. I'm down over 50 pounds in a year and a half.
Hey Bart, Hope you're still watching this post. I just bought a used Roll Sport that is supposed to be a 2020. I started looking at this bike because of your reviews, BTW. So far, I love it (in Maryland) I'm trying to get some detail on this bike. It has a 3 ring crankset and 7 ring rear set, trigger shifters that read "seven" speeds, mechanical disc brakes, and suspension seat. I haven't been able to find any specs or details on this gear set up and I've very curious about it?? Anything you can tell me about this particular set up? All the new Rolls are one ring up front. Thanks.
Yes I personally have had that set up on an older specialized Roll , It works great I believe it was called the roll EQ. The setup worked fantastic as long as you didn't cross chain by going into your ranges You really shouldn't go into anyway. Big big or small small. They simplified the Roll by going single chain ring up front. A lot of riders get confused with two shifters but if you know what you're doing it's not complicated and everything works as it should. I'm sure you will get many enjoyable miles out of your new bike. Thanks
Thanks. Yes, I'm very familiar with the shift set-up. At 60yo I've been riding for a long time. 😊 I have a Jamis Hybrid DXT that I've had about 2 years. I love it but I just can't get comfortable and comfort is getting more important to me these day's. It's cold here now but I think this bike is going to do it for me when I can get out there. 😊
I'm a bigger guy 6-2 240 and I wanted a sturdy road bike that wasn't too heavy and one with a little more meaty tires and rims. The Roll seemed to fit the bill and I bought one awhile back. I love this bike. Mine has the disc brakes. The tires call for like 40 lbs. of air but I run them at 65 or so and have not blown one up yet!
I bought this exact same bike (same color and everything) last year, and I am totally in love with it! I've done a 20+ mile ride on it. It is sooooo comfortable and fun to ride. I hate it when I have to stop and go home. LOL

Very good review. I’m 64 and I just bought this bicycle two days ago and absolutely love it. I hadn’t ridden a bicycle since 1975 and I couldn’t wait to hop on this and move! And, it’s amazing how easily the gears shift and just how fast the bike moves! I only ride up and down the Seawalk (about 10 miles) along Miami Beach and it’s like a whole new way of living everyday now. Love the battleship grey of the bike in this video? Can I get one for $749 like the one you showed with fenders?
I have a roll sport that I bought recently. I want to take out like you said kinda push the limits. Nothing intense but maybe change the tires for gravel roads, a few trail rides. Would you recommend anything I could switch out besides the tires to be switched or would you not recommend any of that?

Yes you can mount fenders and racks to your bike I suggest buying the specialized roll fender set and rack I have noticed with some models I still have to modify just a little bit to get them to fit but they are a good fender and rack and are made specifically for the roll so they cover the tire as well and they don't rattle and make noise when you start to have fun on this bike. They are hard models to find at the moment but looks like that is starting to change And you should be seeing these shortly. No I like my roll too much to sell it, Good luck finding one they're awesome bikes!

Thanks so much for review. I had a bad knee injury and my Dr told me that cycling is best way to help rehab by knee. Do the more expensive bikes like Sirrus 4.0 & 5.0 offer a more comfortable ride? I am a novice cyclist but plan on making cycling a lifestyle and do not know if spending the extra money to upgrade is truly worth it and gives me any for comfort. Thanks again
Don’t know if you ever got an answer, but there’s a whole spectrum of bikes out there. There are bikes like the Specialized Roll designed specifically for comfort.
Mine seems to. I just got it this year and there's one spot on a paved trail near me that not everybody can make it up. I could make it up on my previous bike, but if I get enough momentum on the Roll it almost coast to the top of the hill. Even on a flat grade it just seems like it coasts along so much easier.
Hi my name is Eric I'm from Klamath Falls Oregon and I to Love the role bike I had mine for 2 years and 2 days In over 6000 miles I found that my frame on my bike was cracked Over a month and a 1/2 ago I had to go to Ashlyn Oregon to a specialized bike shop to see if my bike is still under warranty and it is I am hoping to have my new bike at the end of August and when I do I'm going to do a bicycle tour on my a new bike 8 months ago I decided that I was not going to drive a vehicle for 5 years to live My life on a bicycle When I get my new bike I'm planning on doing a 350 mile bike tour How would you set up your role to go on a bike tour I look forward to seeing your next video on the roll 21 speed
You can, theyre kinda cheap plastic fenders though. Im trying to see if i can find a better brand that works with mine ill let you guys know if i find any.

Great review! I’m a bit surprised this one doesn’t have disc brakes at this price point.
I got one few weeks ago, which is a regular sport (not EQ) and at $650, has also disc brakes.
What about the back and adding a toddlers seat? Just got into biking and I have been using my wife’s Trek.

I have a 2019 Roll Sport. My rig didn't come with reflective stripes around the tires. Thank God. I hate those reflective stripes.
