    your review was spot on. I had the Roll Elite for a year and then switched to the Roll Sport which I've rode for 3 years now and ZERO problems. No maintenance at all other than oiling the chain and fixing a flat tire. I like the Roll Sport better because it's easier to pedal up hills, especially steep hills. Best damn bike I ever owned. I pump the tires up to about 60, makes it pretty zippy and no problems with the tires.

    Love how you show your riding position on the bike. That is one of the hardest thing to figure out with some many choices in the hybrid sector and limited supplies in stores.

    Finally someone gets the fact that no one needs 20-30 gears on a recreational bicycle

    I'm in love with the entry level bike. I bought vintage bikes before that one and I always have problems of postures, I could not ride up the streets etc. I am a woman 236pounds and I want to be fit, this bike has been very comfortable for my.

    yep! I picked up a 2021 Roll Elite in Flat Black in large...most comfortable bike to toot around on...hydraulic brakes are smmooooth...shifts with a small click..."micro shift" makes it super nice and easy to run through the 9 gears...I highly recommend this bike, although, good luck finding one...I had to drive 550 miles to pick mine up....so worth it!

    I really want to get the low entry version of this bike. I'm 55, short, and a guy and it would make getting on and off a bike so much easier for me. I rode one last February and liked it but was in shopping mode and wanted to try other models and brands too. Then COVID happened and all the bikes just disappeared. Now they're impossible to find. Go figure.

    I'm hoping to test ride one of these today. I missed out on that gorgeous blue though. Plus I'm going down a model to save a few bucks. I'll probably end up with a blast one.

    Nice channel, I almost bought the roll because it looked like a big bmx bike but once I rode it , it wasn't so nimble and would not wheelie. I ended up with a Giant Sedona dx which I love but they discontinued. A good bike is a comfortable bike. I put the wife on a Crossroads and she loves it. Specialized's are solid bikes.

    I just bought a Spec. Roll Elite in Satin Black XL and will pick it up next week. It is not the low entry; my question is, is there a difference between the 2020 and 2021 model years.. My price was $1000. Besides the price, how can I verify which model year I am buying?

    Love the review and your channel. Great stuff.
    Random question: In he $600 range, which do your prefer, Specialized or Cannondale. Are specialized faster? I rode a sirrus 1.0 and a cannondale quick 5. The sirrus I felt was a bit faster and nimble but the cannondale more comfortable.

    Concerning the step thru: tire size, I like the 700 cc. Also I'm 6' 1" what fram size does the step thru come in? I prefer a set up I'm 72 now. I've been riding since I was 6. I like your video, it's informative. Where is your shop located? Thanks for your time.

    We are in our 60’s. Hubby just retired. Been riding Schwinn classic cruisers for 20 years. (Replicas). Now we are riding daily and want something more. This bike looks great. Are there others in this category you like also? Seems e pensive, but maybe it’s not. another question, can you stand to climb on it? Never ha$ gears before. Thanks

    I’m looking to get a new bike and The Roll has really caught my eye! I love the upright position and comfort that it offers on rides. My only hesitation is it’s really marketed as a beginner bike or cruiser bike. On avg. my rides on 26 miles but on the weekends I try for 40-60+ mile rides - will this bike be able to withstand that? I’m not too worried about speed I just want to be comfortable and get exercise.

    I have a black Roll Elite, love it, its just a fun ride wherever it goes.. but I cant figure out how it warrants a legit $1100 price tag, especially when viewed alongside the components hung on a typical $1000-$1200 mtb.
    I dont get it, but I guess I dont care too much...

      Your right! I purchased one right when Covid came out. It was before they jacked the price up really high. When I got mine it was a lot less . Your right if you look at what you can buy in MTN bikes for the same money it does not add up.

    would you recommend this bike for a big guy as myself (350 lbs) to ride on, every bike shop I go to recommends a Mtb. So if anyone has any advice please reply.

    • @0509kj
      @0509kj 3 роки тому +1

      I'm just getting back in to riding after about 18 years not (among other things to start exercising and taking some weight off). Back then I was about 100 pounds lighter and had no problems but after sitting in storage that long my full suspension ride was no longer up to for it and they can't get suspension parts anymore. I'm about 6'3" about 390 now. My shop recommended a Large roll elite - I knew as soon as I tested it that's the one - I'm no longer riding down the sides of mountain trails these days so the full suspension is no longer needed. I mainly wanted something for bike paths and neighborhood rides with the kids but something burly enough for my size - I literally just got back from my first ride, did 6 miles with the kids and couldn't be happier with it. It's so much more comfortable in the upright riding position and the brakes are effortless even with my size. One big guy to another I think you'll be just fine on one of these. I bought the black which is matte finish with brown saddle, very understated. Good luck!

  • @maxoblivion
    @maxoblivion 2 роки тому +2

    Yeah, it's unfortunate people still call the low entry frame bike a "girl's bike". Like the man said, when you're older than you used to be you find you can't whip your leg over the seat to get on the bike like you could when you were 12. I'll bet many men won't buy a low entry bike and so end up not riding at all. Too bad.
