Hi. The content was pretty interesting. Just started working for a building. My building has a boiler the use number 2 oil. I have a decent knowledge about the boiler but would like to watch a full maintenance video. Like what valves to drain, computer wise as well and how it works.
Hi! Thanks for the feedback, and congrats on the new job! A full maintenance video on boilers sounds like a great idea. We’ll definitely consider adding something like that, covering valve draining, system operations, and computer controls. Stay tuned, and let us know if you have any other topics in mind!
I work on boilers for a living, and while you generally have mechanics right (with the exception of the water tube boilers also having a mud drum and steam drum), fire tube boilers are also very common for high pressure steam systems (high pressure steam is 15psi and higher, and I’ve typically seen them run at about 100# of steam).
Lucas, thank you for your insights. It is always great to get feedback from those most experienced in the industry. Our lessons are intended for automation engineers getting started in the industry and in order to spark interest in those considering or curious about a career in automation. We focus on the critical aspects of understanding the concepts of automation without delving too deeply into the process or equipment. I think our subscribers will find the additional information that you provided very helpful. Keep watching!
I was more intrested in the steam boiler i found this video cuz im trying to learn about the boilers on the olympic class ships.. thanks for the amazing vid!
i used to work for a boiler company Jhon Thompson. the most common boilers that companies use are 10ton coal boilers because thay are the cheapest to run but needs a lot of maintenance unlike HFO (oil) and gass burners that are low to no maintenance. burners are more reliable and easy to use unlike coal boilers that need a operator and break down unexpectedly (a lot).
Just wonderful, I have been researching "industrial electronic repair winston salem" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Giyathan Bewildering Gratification - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to repair your electronic items like a wizard minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got great success with it.
These are great, thank you. I'm looking for techniques to use in personal/residential (non-commercial) applications. I know it's not really what you guys do, but if there's any interest I'd love to see a few examples of efficient homemade boiler/generators.
Thank you your comment and sharing your topic suggestion! I will happily forward this to our course developers, hopefully we could create some video courses on this topic in the future. Thank you again for sharing, and always feel free to share any future topic suggestions you have - we always take those into consideration.
thanks lot dear teacher...........................it is very clear and best understanding with your passion of teaching............"may triple gems bless you" i am qualified B.Sc Mechanical engineer best of luck you......................
Thanks so much, have learnt a lot. I'm from Nigeria, please how can I design one using firewoods. I want to use it to dry avocado past on a flat metal sheet. Thanks and God bless you for sharing this knowledge. Have subscribe immediately.
Good job, it's impressive. Can you provide video training on how boiler combustion/flue gas analysis is performed using handheld gas/combustion analyzer?
The simple answer is [BTU 's OUT / BTU's IN] x 100%. That may seem easy, but it will require flow, pressure and temperature sensors to measure the quantities that go into determining the energy into and out of the boiler. In more detail: efficiency = [(lbs/hr Steam out x Enthalpy of steam in BTU/lb steam at operating pressure and temperarture) / (natural gas flow in SCFH x BTU/SCF natural gas at flowing pressure)] x 100%.
Thanks for the information, very clear, it would be good if you did something regarding the various options of flue gas economizers in boilers and application parameters of the various methods

Hi Sarvesh, Thanks a lot for your kind compliment! Happy to hear that you are enjoying the aesthetics of our video courses. Unfortunately, I am not sure about which program is used as this is done by our graphic and animation department. My apologies!
Smoke stack should have some version of an alternator on it, converting the steam to electricity. The electricity generated should feed a battery that powers a motor to heat a ceramic in the furnace for heat. Obviously they found something wrong in the design but replacing parts over certain period probably better than processing carbon fuels near living spaces.
Excellent video...I wish you continued making these videos about thermodynamics and maybe explained the concept of exergy, with an exergetic analysis of a boiler or a turbine? It'll be so useful with your unique style of teaching Engineering things

@jeremynoor9680try asking on r/plc
If I can get ur WhatsApp number I will you to teach me how to operate a boiler, I have the video of the boiler
@jeremynoor9680what was your problem?
@jeremynoor9680based on what I saw on the video,boiler produces steam,not hot water out of the system.
Well explained in simple terms such that even a 10-year-old will clearly understand. Excellent job!!

I need to send this to my school
I like the explanation I am interested in knowing how to calculate boiler efficiency?
The simple answer is [BTU 's OUT / BTU's IN] x 100%. That may seem easy, but it will require flow, pressure and temperature sensors to measure the quantities that go into determining the energy into and out of the boiler. In more detail: efficiency = [(lbs/hr Steam out x Enthalpy of steam in BTU/lb steam at operating pressure and temperarture) / (natural gas flow in SCFH x BTU/SCF natural gas at flowing pressure)] x 100%.
Thank you , i really have learned from this video
Happy to hear that!

Hi Methuselah,

There are different types of pressure sensors. The mobrey switches are magnetic level switches are one of the types which satisfy boiler code requirements. If your drum water level gets too low and is allowed to remain that low the excess heat would cause a loss of containment and catastrophic failure, so instruments such as the redundant level switches are there to provide a signal that the burner management system can use to bring the boiler to a safe state.
