I do HVAC in Indiana and we don’t see many boilers. From what I have seen of UA-cam you and Steve lav do the best work by far. Keep up the good work.

I have same problem. Heat is not going up. How much does it cost for this service? I'm in Queens NY.

Quick question- I'm a service tech that's fairly new to hydronic systems, I've primarily have delt with forced air- my question is why are you running the system while you purge? 2nd question is the feeder alway enough pressure to purge? I was taught to use a transfere pump or even hook up to a near by water heater to provide extra pressure.

I need fuzzy bunny slippers for when I need to purge my boiler. :) I got to learn the hard way how to purge my system. Pipe broke in the middle of winter and all the water pumped out, luckily the boiler didn't burn up in the process. Fixed the broken pipe, and then had to purge three zones.

In my house, we have our thermostat off but the tstat/circ light is solid red. How did you bypass the thermostat? so I could hopefully reverse it if its the problem

Nice , quick diagnosis and repair and Yes, those Testo numbers look good! What causes the boiler water to turn black like that? I’ve seen brown water but not black like that! Lack of maintenance?

Umm Mike. This circulator is set up correctly. That is not the supply. Look at the arrow on the casting. It is returning to the lower end of the boiler. This is how I do my installs as well. I let the pump pull. It is on the cooler side instead of the Hotter side. Pump usually lasts longer this way.

Nice video as usual. Mikey Pipes, can I convert my aluminum baseboards back to cast iron radiators which some owner before me removed in a 1920s colonial. I hate this baseboard heating!!!! I'd actually appreciate anyone answering that question.

Seeing the “CP” serial on it, I figured it was a Weil made unit.
Grandparents had a Williamson oil fired Temp-O-Matic lowboy furnace installed by the local Ma and Pa oil company back in ‘89.
The oil company, and my grandparents are all gone, but that furnace is still going in what’s now my mothers house.

@@erikj.2066 I was looking the other day for pictures of my grandmothers old furnace. .as a kid I remember the thing being monster sized in her basement.. it was a natural gas unit with a single burner and a bonnett for the flame. the blower was belt drive. the A/C coil was flat and vertical.. sat right next to the Monster sized Electronic air cleaner.. everything was inside the cabinet of the furnace including the humidifier. grandma used a name for it.. some kind of complete comfort system. the floor register diffusers sat oin the baseboards and were 6-10 feet long.. supposedly it was designed to have the even style heating of hot water but in a gas system. she built the ranch house in 68 with the latest greatest of everything.. even tilt-to-wash "caradco" windows.. (tilt wash windows were unheard of then)..
