wont hold for long mig welding like that on thick dirty rebar and thin galvanized washers. i know it takes longer but either grind off the galv before you weld or else use an expsinvie mig wire with silicon and manganese coating. those weld galv without having to grind but super expensive wire. youd be better off stick welding with a 7014 or a 6010 or 6011 if using AC. old ac buzzboxs are cheap and perfect for home projects like this. nice vid anyway
What type of electrode are you using?
Just standard wire on my MIG Machine with Gas, (forget the correct jargon) it was rebar and washers used to hold logs in place...
