I made some similar hooks for my garage, but used chrome acorn wheel nuts instead of the hex nuts you used. They don't snag what ever you hang on the hook. Used heavier re-bar threaded it, and just screwed on the nuts, nice and shiny!
It's the positive up beat cheery can do can be done straight down the line manner Gav :) makes us all want to go out and get a Mig Welder bench vice re bar and a piece of pipe. Never has there been so many jackets and coats wanting such a place to reside & rest ! Just fantastic :) tar man
Your work is very nice and beautiful quality. Your smile is very lovely. Very nice technical education. Wish for you n your family always be happy n be healthy. Love you brother.
Always look forward to these Gavin! You are a master of doing something with nothing, but yet you’ve raised the bar on magnetic clamps! Thanks for posting!
I've watched quite a few of your videos. I've just recently taught myself to weld and am gonna do one of your projects this weekend. Your vise is definitly a staple to the way you work...great job
I like your eye for detail, like the hidden weld thou the back of the plate, most people would weld it on the front. You have a new subscriber from Detroit Michigan.
Thank you very much, I wish you the best for your project. Just a note, see your comment has the "mig.love" in blue as if it is a link, youtube put it in a review folder as links are not allowed....anyway all good thank you for your comment.
I see you're using a very handy combination square. If you add the Amazon link to your description above, I'll buy it! One thing I've learned I'd like to share... I find it's easier to clean my steel before marking, cutting, and/or welding - especially if I'm making several pieces at one go. Thanks once more for a very useful video!
The one I am using is a "WOLF 400MM COMBINATION SQUARE WSC400" it has a nice solid ruler in it. Amazon do not sell that brand, I bought it at Total Tools here in Australia. If you google the name above it should come up with a few places that you can buy it, it is a good solid unit. Thank you for offering to buy through my link, very much appreciated. I do the same in cleaning before cutting, especially if the bits are going to be small, and it is far easier to clean most bits before welding and then touch them up after. Thank you for your comment.
Cool, I'm going to give that a try, they turn out to be nice coat hooks! I live in Pennsylvania in the US, been to Perth several times and Sydney once when I was in the Navy, was always enjoyable. Beautiful country!
Thank you very much, I wish you the best for your project. Greetings from Australia, I think it is a beautiful country too. Thank you for your comment.
Sorry for my English (translated by the translator). Great ideas. I will repeat some of them with pleasure. In this project, the nuts look interesting, but not very practical. If the hook is for clothes, then the loop on the clothes themselves is usually small and will not fit on the nut. I like the manufacturing process itself. Made with care and with a soul. 👍👍👍
Your translator works great! In Russia, I noticed everyone uses loops to hang coats. In America we typically do not use loops, and so the bolts help hold the clothing. Of course, the great thing about fabricating your own products: you may modify the designs to make you happiest!
Hi, Igor Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it. Robert has answered your question perfectly, I don't think I have ever used the loops on clothing to hang on a hook, I am in Australia. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you very much Robert, I love your answer to the question, I agree it is lovely to fabricate things so the do what you want and have the look you like. Thank you for your comment

Well done, take your time explaining everything you're doing, take your time....excellent. From Lancaster, PA USA. ( I did order/purchase the Magnetic V pads from Amazon)
Gavin greetings from Voronezh. I really liked this hook. And I made myself exactly the same. Only 5 pieces at once. One of these days I will shoot a video and upload it to UA-cam if there is a desire to watch it. I hope you enjoy my work. According to your pattern.
Thank you very much. Yes that would help it hold it's shape, and for this job it would have worked beautifully, but to do a tight bend the pipe needs to be thin so it can get in tight when it is bending. I do have quite a bit of this secondhand bending pipe so cutting a bit off is not a big issue for me. I do appreciate your comment Thank you.
Immer wieder faszinierend, wie sie mit metall umgehen. Das Endprodukt ist einfach der Hammer.
