We ran to the smashed car as the train slowed down to see if anyone was still alive. There was one person in the car. Melissa. She died. 9:30pm in South Florida January 30th 2024. Lord have mercy on her soul. We are playing this Akathist while we wait for the police. We are both new Orthodox Christians. We had 3 orthodox friends come to the site of the crash 5 minutes after. We all said a prayer for the reposed. Lord have mercy. Two men who were best friends with the woman, were all coming from a yoga meditation on the beach when she was hit. Life is so fragile. Cherish it. Lord have mercy on all of us. God bless.
Oh Lord of unutterable love save the soul of your handmaiden, Melissa, who has fallen asleep. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit both now and ever and unto the ages of ages amen. Grace, Melissa was given the blessed gift of someone to love her soul as she was called into eternity. Thank you for sharing this with us. We will add Melissa to our prayers as well. The Lord is merciful and loves mankind. Glory to God in all things. May Christ our God who is abundant in mercy bless and keep you all.
This video helped me greatly. The largest stumbling block to my faith is reconciling eternal hell with God's love. It doesn't make sense to me. This akethist, along with the Canon of St Varus, give comfort that, perhaps, God's mercy extends beyond what we may understand. Pray for me that God saves me from sin and heresy. May God be merciful. May the Lord have mercy on us sinners. May we know He is truly Good and Loving.
