Oh, the never ending hunt for tools ! I can relate. Years back I had 2 project cars on the go at once, but due to space constraints I ended up renting a friends garage to work on one of them. My place and his were only about a 10 minute drive apart, but I did that trip SOOOOOOO many times because I unexpectedly found that a special tool I needed at garage (A) was in garage (B). A couple times I even ended up scouring one garage, deciding that the tools I needed must be at the other, so drove over there, almost dismantled that garage looking, then going back. Retraced where I'd been when I used them last, realised that used them when I'd gone to a friends house to do some work on their car, then remembered that I'd put them back in my daily drive and forgot to put them back into (A) or (B)......... Never again. I spent more time looking for stuff than doing anything productive. It also didn't help that I'd routinely take bit's of my car in his garage to work on in mine, so it wasn't just tools that ended up in the wrong location when I needed it. If I ever "Accidentally" end up with two projects once, I'm renting a big enough space for both of them, and ALL my tools. :D
Well that's a welcome surprise to see you back! Yeah barely-edited long video is fine. We can watch it while doing other things, or just scrub around. If you want to make it nicer, you can chapterise it via timestamps in description but if it's too much to think about, then it's fine without that as well.
I think I'd prefer to drill out one of those rivets in the housing mount, and replace it with a bolt enabling a mounting point for the earth inside the housing and thus much more robust against water ingress. As a Series Land Rover owner the number one issue with electrics is always a bad earth and you kind of have to be creative in regards to finding good earthing solutions.
Good looking solution, seems like the original builder had the brackets on the wrong side from the start.
this was fun. nice to see you again. hope you can keep the videos coming.
