- After working the phones for over 18 hours, Doug and Walker weren't able to trade the 6th overall pick in the Locked On Ultimate Mock Draft. It wasn't trading Duren... It's trading it for a worst future pick.

Duren is who I wanted the entire pre draft process we got him I was elated then almost immediately my party was over SMH
I’m skeptical of UCONN players myself and we don’t need another undersized guard. I’d rather go Knecht if we stay @ 6.

I don't trust the G-League Ignite system. Zero players drafted from that system have panned out in the NBA. Part of it is the player mentality, rather get a big paycheck than go to college where big NIL money is reserved for more established players. Getting $$$ at 18 makes them complacent, entitled and not try as hard to improve.
If Clingan goes #1, the Hornets need to try to trade up to #3 for Risacher if Houston is willing to listen to a trade. There is no way they trade up to 3 for Sheppard or Castle, especially if Risacher is there.
Or Risacher imo. Slight trade back or pick at 6. PLEASE!!!!
I think if clingan goes one or two, that makes 3 so much more interesting, as that forces sarr or Reshishe go 3
I don't think the guys at the top of the mock boards are going to move the needle any. Take a gamble and draft a guy with some upside like Jared McCain or Ja'Kobe Walter.

I'm good with either Reed Sheppard or Dalton Knecht. I'm not all that enamored with Castle like most people.

There isn't much that is certain in this draft. However, I think most people believe that both Sarr and Resarchie (sp) are gonna go in the top three. I also believe the hype that someone's gonna trade up to get Clingan in the top 3.
So, if you buy the likelihood of Sarr, Rishache (sp), and Clingan going 1,2,3,.then one of your prefered picks will be there at 6.

I won’t lie to y’all, the stuff we’ve heard about Castle’s work ethic at UConn makes it very hard for me to believe he won’t be atleast a miles bridges level shooter in 2-3 years
In all of these interviews he looks locked in and just wants to get better. I like him a lot.
So he's probably been working on a three ball for years and still can't shoot.

And, as always, nice show guys. I've seen a few, and LOH is easily the best Locked on Ive seen and the best Hornets content out there.
There is a great CBS article out right now about drafting gems in a bum draft and it is all about players who have flaws but the drive and ability to overcome them. I still think Holland is our guy.

Love listening to you guys, best analysis on the Hornets out there. If both Castle, Shepard, and Clingan go in top 5, that means one of Sarr, Risacher, or Buzelis are available. Any of those three preferred over Knecht?
If we are moving assets to go up to 3, I only want the pick to be Castle. Fits into the lineup easily. Slot him in at the 2 POA defender or 6th man to help run the bench.

I’m good with staying at 6. I believe we get someone that helps us move the needle. I would be happy if we could acquire more assets and move back if we could get a Cody Williams type player.
That would probably be my favorite move is trade back a little bit and get cody williams, Because I don't think he's too far away from being able to help this year at some point, And I think he has as much upside as anybody else in this damn draft.
If we take Castle, are we trading Mark Williams and Richards? Because you absolutely can't play Castle and the centers together. Having two players on the floor kills your team, and it doesn't matter what you do anywhere else
Personally if the franchise is in asset collection mode, then they need to trade back if they can. If they decide to pick, I would want Stephon Castle, Dalton Knecht, or someone else like Cody Williams.
If we trade to 3, we need to try and get Cam Whitmore somehow. He could be a Miles replacement if he bolts in free agency.
Against my better judgement I'm all in trading to 3 for Reed.

I've said Dalton Knecht from day 1. He's my favorite player in the draft. Don't want Reed Shepard at all! He gives up size. Don't want Castle! He may bog down the offense with his current scoring ability. So nobody will say the hornets know what they're doing for picking these two! Then trading up?! I would definitely feel like nothing has changed from old to current regime.
