This game combined with the combat of banner lord would be amazing
There has been the Life is Feudal MMO. It had a massive map, u were able to terraform (tunnels, removing mountains, building whole new islands etc) and build pretty much everywhere and the fighting system was/is the same as in mount and blade.
The problem with terraforming and players changing the environment is, that, thanks to the impact, the map will get uglier over time. Just for materials and pvp-reasons (no materials and no cover for enemies) the forest of whole regions might get destroyed.
The building system and general gameplay shown is really simliar to Conan Exiles/Rust etc. The idea of bringing such a building system into a MMO is also kinda old (Camelot Unchained etc).
Thats why Pax Dei might have to face simliar problems.... It will get interesting when the looting and pvp makes it into the game. Free building also means lots of ways to exploit. In conan exiles, pretty much the same system, players started building flying bases, bases under the map, pvp-bases that are harder to raid- but are not really realistic or good looking "buildings"
Btw. Life is Feudal had the same idea as Pax Dei regarding safe zones - so zones where players are able to build houses outside of player-territories/pvp-zones. Guess what happened ? people got several accounts- with one account they went into pvp zones and looted- while the second account was in the safe-zone. so perfect to bring the valuable loot there for storage.
It was also very much a thing to use (secondary) accounts to block areas for guilds/players- so I am curious how the Pax-Dei-gamedesigners will solve those problems

@@user-ry7rd2po7r Every game that does this has the same issue, the pvp is always cancer. They all become Rust sooner or later. In that sense I can't see anything this game does being novel over Life is Fuedal, which itself wasn't really that novel. A game like this would be better if it was PVE, but to do that requires... well, an actual game, not just a building sandbox, and devs don't seem to want to make mobs and AI.

When he looks down at the castle from a far i get goosebumps thinking about what could be, imagine a horde of riders on that mountain or a hilltop staring down at the impending doom about to unfold on their castle.

Something very primal inside us that screams to build on mountains, I have the same urge in Valheim..
If the combat is as great as the building and if there is some kind of balance between groups of players or pve castle attacks, this game is going to be amazing.
7000 steps to High Hrothgar might be built in the next beta. Alongside the High Hrothgar buildings. Looking forward it.
It would be nice if that added cobble stone or cut stone pathways, that way you can make roads..I could just see a road with a few homesteads along the way between both castles.
This game reminds me of a much prettier Wurm Online, which does have that.
Early days of a new server are weird, because you have basically no way of knowing where you are. Midlife server, you can literally tell someone "just follow the road until you hit the (doot doot), then take a right, head that way until you see (doot), then take a left and you'll find our village."

If they add the capacity of mining the mountains and removing some chunks of terrain away, It would be epic.
Im imagining this place getting invaded like in the cartoon Heavy Metal where everyone is getting brutally slaughtered and retreating up the hill each defense point

The good thing is that they are planning on having zones like this to not have pvp or raiding so people will actually be able to build good looking stuff instead of 50 door honeycomb bases
they looks very authentic and natural that it blend in to the aesthetics too, which is crazy. I'm looking forward for the release
Ngl if your clan main castle is on top of that mountain and that's the only way up what a battle would it be, its gonna be an actual siege XD

Being able to build roads would make this so much more epic
Really hoping they allow building outside of the safe zones. Building in PvE areas is cool and all, but going into all out war over land would be way cooler.

pax dei has the potential to be one of the biggest building/survival mmos made and im here for it
would be a lot cooler if the game let the players make some roads, like stone or dirt road instead of every house on a grassfield.
It is an early alpha. Roads will 100% be in the game at some point.
Unknowingly but totally zen... build a deluxe castle only to let it dissipate into the ether as soon as it's done.
this is probably the best advertisement for the game possible. this is pretty impressive. combine this with a solid skill progression system and much better combat and I am sold.

Seems weird to harp on Asmon not literally placing every single brick when just like prior to this no one had any idea that this even existed.
I honestly think resource gathering needs to be a little more difficult, opening tech tree potential. Being able to carry 15 random large rocks would be much cooler if there were like a wheelbarrow or a cart. I also think an interesting addition would be huts or cabins. Imagine a world buff using settlements: if you have a cabin, your stam max is 30% higher. Having a fire outside your cabin (upgradable to bonfire, fire pit) gives you a 50% stam regen rate, and allows for other things like forges etc. The idea being that players will naturally situate houses in groups around a central fire, and create the community around which a castle is built.
GG pax dei, asmon would probably comes back next year or at least 2 years from now
One of the smartest things the developers did was giving Asmon a bunch of keys. It's certainly a monumental effort that has gone in to this, and likely produced some nice stress testing on just how much "building" can occur in area. Will be interesting to see how this develops.
It has candles for interior lighting. That's ± historically accurate.
Should be able use wenches and pully systems for bridges and elevators. Game needs big draw bridges
with the music, this is basically 3rd person skyrim with the atmosphere and all
4:30 it's probably too tall in a lot of places. The wall size in comparison to the size of the city would make it much more realistic, but it wouldn't look like what was in the movie.
The magic in this game feels so scarce, that health buff is simultaneously the most tame/mild yet savage looking thing in this game from a distance especially.
Everything related to magic and combat will be completely changed in the next alpha

reminds me of a game that was in development some years ago that was somewhat pixel art style, and u explored around with a small crew with torches and whatnot.. i cant remember the name of it but it had potential. this looks like an updated version of that game with a more realistic graphic style
what these guys build is super fucking impressive and i think its gonna be even better when the game releases cuz everybody will have more experience in building... im super hyped for the games release. maybe we gonna see a new golden era of gaming
I don't care about the combat, more content, maps, biomes, dungeons, bosses, mounts and polish on existing systems (clan, implement real trade etc) is enough to make this perfect. You know this but with more progression. That dungeon/raid was so cool..really needed a big boss in the deepest depths.
Been watching and looking for good games these days. But pax dei is just something special I love this game. Hope they add so much and optimise it better. I can't wait!!
Hopefully there’s furnishing, little things and big things to make it look like a real lived in place and not some generic build like in Rust.

I've never once saw an upcoming game that created such a lot of hype through Beta test alone. I wonder if the devs will showcase every structure the players had made in the game before wiping everything out or ending the beta. That would be a very good showcase of this beta test and what the game is capable of. I'm so hyped for this game wtf.

This will be my future "back up" game just in case Ashes of Creation doesn't get its major endgame systems to work as planned.

i can see frames dropped a little. but with that said i'm beyond impresssed with how little lag there is for so many player based objects. that's really good to see.
and if this was done in the beta i can't wait to see what will happen in a few months after launch

i have to say for an alpha build this looks nice. I hope they push the release day as far as possible. With the right direction this could be a good low fantasy mmo.
This looks so fucking good. Had so much fun in the dark & light game when friends played, but it never had much of a userbase because so much of it was janky and unfinished. can't wait for this to come out.

Would be really interesting to see this game on release. So far hard for me to imagine the whole concept, but I'm definitely glad to have +1 mmorpg to be excited about.

suggestions... building system is the best one out of all mmo is existing atm, but I hope also to see an option of free build / with player created ready to use building blue print too.
1) for example i can put each block piece by piece, enable me to create some crazy shape of the buildings, but in the same same time there are some players created mod which is the whole ready to plug in building , just 1 click and place the blue print on the plot of lands, what i need to do is gather and fill in the mats.
2) different region different building style (idk how large the map is, or how are servers going to connect with each other, all all map(srv) look like the same , like MoE) , but if the regions in the big world were unique, I hope they can add "regional" features, where building style, fashions, culture, mats are slightly different
3) (again if the map is big enough), kingdom / flag system shold be applied, for example you have your main base control by a guild, but you can take control of another villages, cities, tribe of NPC and vasslise em, generate income and mats, also indicate on the world map that, those lands are within your "kingdom". also when you PVP and destroy enemy guild, you can also put the enemy base under your control (without consum more like monument) , serve like NPC , you can change the name of the base , etc ... to give rewards of the winner
4) ple don't create PVE connect with PVP server shits like MoE did... lol which is exploitable by PVP rats who put everything in the PVE zone, and PVE zone should be be slow progression, less mats gathering, and have to go out of PVE, into PVP zone for trade, or gather higher Q , special mats etc
5) set the tone of the game, is it PVE or PVP focus? even for both but dev must take a side what kind of custmer they want the most and please them, you can't ple everyone as far as my explerience of playing few famous title of MMO survivial, PVE always accuse PVP toxic player who destroy their claim in the PVP zone, and PVP can't do anything to against rat play in PVP but craft in PVE zone, don't make the mistake again lol , and don't split player base to different unconnectable server, server have to be in the one big world.
Pax Dei is a Social Crafting MMO. Combat is lack luster and content is minimal. So if you like grinding an in depth crafting system to build a giant city and then have nothing else to do, this games for you.
