    Nice video. Only about 4 months into my lift truck mechanic career. I work on way more electric trucks than LP. Always loved your videos. You're what made me get in the business. Thank you!

    I got called out to a similar model at 11:30 pm in -20 celcius. It would run and then you would try and drive and then stahl. It was so fn cold and I just went through everything I could think starting with fuel... It seemed like fuel and it was used out side in the cold like a cheap mule so the system could have had lots of problems. I got it running finally, I can't remeber exactly how but I thought I'd fixed it and I was waiting for the owner to return with some much needed coffees. As so as the owner got back I went to show him that it was A-ok and as soon as I did it dies again, and this time I can't get it running again. I check fusues and wiring as best as I can given the circumstances but I couldnt figure it out and the cold wasn't helping, so I called it a night and promised to come back asap in the dawn. So I return the following morning and I asked a senior tech to come take a look cause he lived around the corner and I really wanted to get this guy up and running. Turns out there was a wiring harness under the left side foot step that was covered in a mix of everything +snow and ice. We chipped away at it and cleared it out. Sure enough almost the whole harness was shot. We tried to MacGyver him a quick fix to get it running for a big load he needed to handle that day but when we did we only kept discovering more and more hidden jems in the wiring so we just called it and told the customer it would need a new harness. Then I told my sales man that the customer was going to need something fast and he would probably move quick given a good choice, more for the customer then the salesman.
    I liked your trick, thanks for the videos.

      If i was not doing the video, probably 30 min. From doing the test with unplugging the mass air flow and replacing it.

    There's a fuel pressure test port on top of that LP regulator you should see 30 to 35 kpa or 4.5 to 5 psi at idle and under load. Quick test before replacing the lp reg.

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  3 роки тому +1

      That is what the other tech should have done if he was doubting lack of fuel.

      I had one today. Yale with a mazda engine. Hard start/no start condition. Another company replaced a $800 Lp reg and it didn't fix it. Customer said I'm calling someone else. We show up, did my Pinoy style testing. Checked if the spark plug spark can jump the 1 inch gap and it did so I knew the ignition was good. Next I sprayed brake clean down the carb and the unit ran so I knew it was a LP issue. So next was the bubble test. Lol. Pulled out the lp injector (looks like a cold start injector on a vw) with the hose and wire still attached to it and dipped it in a cup of water. Cranked it no bubbles. Checked the injector if it was getting signal and it was. Well all it could be is the injector itself. Popped my tester in and voila! Good as fix. Lol. (Toyotas use the same injector set up common on hard start no start symptoms) i always pretend I'm doing videos like you when I send it to my parts/service department but never have the balls to upload them on YT. 😆

    Nice video, well explained as always. If you don't mind a question, in your opinion, would a bad sensor stop a LPG side of a dual fuel to not supply fuel to start? Been wrestling with a Nissan K21 that'll run perfectly fine on gas but not LPG. Any help would be super, I usually deal with diesel engines and the LPG fuel systems are it's own beast.

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  3 роки тому

      Same sensors would be used in gas or lpg, so not likely. I would check the fuel select switch and would make sure that the lpg lock off valve is getting power when switched to lpg. Without power to the lock off, no lpg will enter the regulator.

    • @tyronebeauchamp8905
      @tyronebeauchamp8905 3 роки тому +1

      @@forkliftgeek10 Really appreciate the tips, Fuel select switch was intermittent continuity so I jumped the wires for the LPG side and the lock off valve still would not open, tried manual applying voltage to valve and would click and supply LPG, but would not fire. I'm assuming there is something either with the ECM controlling the LPG injector. Hoping in the next day or so to have a better look and check through wiring/relays etc.

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  3 роки тому +1

      If the signal from the fuel selector switch is not reaching the ecm it would not fire up the lpg injector.

    Got a TB45 engine in a CAT unit. Crank but won't start. MAF sensor has good supply voltage but won't send out a reading. It doesn't run when I disconnect it though, it should if the MAF was faulty.

    hi, ime having trouble with cat gp35n 2004 press acc hard and engine hesitant and bogs down, pretty sure its assist injector circuit fault [changed injector], opened up wiring to check for usual wiring issues with these cats, having a constant B+ to assist injector so assuming the return is going back to ecm and switched there [but not switching], no codes present also, tried trucktool software but cannot communicate to ecm, always just getting mismatch to ecm, assuming someone swapped out ecm from another truck would you know a way around this ecm missmatch issue? very greatful for any help

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  2 роки тому

      Sorry no. But your initial description sounds like a n ignition problem to me. If it was a fuel delivery problem it would not make a difference if the throttle was pressed hard or ramp up slowly, at a certain rpm it would start to bog down. A bog down during snap or hard acceleration is usually ignition. When the throttle is snapped, there is a big gulp of air that goes in the cylinder increasing the compression thereby increasing the resistance for the spark to jump.

    I have the exact fork lift, it's dumping to much fuel.. high pressure coming out air filter box. Would that be caused by the lpg. Vaporizer?

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  2 роки тому +1

      There is a relief valve in the injector holder that if stuck would dump all the lpg into the intake. A stuck open injector would also cause the same symptom. Plug the hose from the regulator to the holder, at key on it should only be max of 8 psi if more, regulator might need adjustment or replacement.

    • @mikesimpson1614

      Vaporizer has a test port on it. What should pressure reading be at that port? 🤔
