Did this job today on my 2006 325i (83,000 mi) and followed the steps in this video. The job was enjoyable and the car runs perfect again. For the last three years or so I’ve been out-of-state and rarely drive the car. Plus, when I do drive it, I average around 20 mph. Thus, gummed-up fuel, carbon, and dirt were the ruin of my fuel pump, and fuel injectors. The car literally was clogged to a standstill. Thank you very much for these great videos.
One note - you don't need to pop out every spring like they do here at @10:39. You can pull back the entire long black injector harness and it will pop out of the injectors. Start from the front and pop it off one injector at a time, with the springs still on. In fact it's easier to pull the injector harness off before taking out the fuel rail. It makes removing the fuel rail easier too.
my dad was a mechanic chief in a tugboat working in Mexico for a big company, he used to completely disassemble them and clean the injectors with diesel (obviously because they operate with diesel). no need to purchase new parts AT ALL, unless they completely wore out.

Here's a little trick when you are putting boats in little tight spaces like that if you take a little electrical tape and stick it to the top of the head then put it in the socket it will hold like a magnet
You guys are life savers. I bought 6 refurbished injectors, and one has failed on me just after a month, but after doing the replacement after watching your video, I feel like it'll be no big deal to replace it. I never pulled the fuse though, I just released pressure on the rail with that tester port, and I think if the other injectors fail any time soon, I'll just leave the engine cover off so I don't have to keep removing all those other covers
@@SpectralPack I first bought the GB remanufactured ones off FCP Euro. I never buy car parts of amazon anymore, I've had several experiences where repairs were put on hold because incorrect parts or eBay quality parts were sent, I only use FCP euro for the BMW

Hey bro I'm getting fuel in my oil when I changed it the oil smelled like fuel and had a goldfish color to it on my hand the oil had about 3k miles on it can this be caused by a bad injectors?
Can use the shreader valve in the rail. It just releases the high pressure anyway. Fuel will still come out. It just won't spray all over the car. Best to let car sit overnight before start this job. most of the pressure will be gone by then. Also best to disconnect the battery while doing this job because sometimes the car can switch on the fuel pump if someone unlocks the car or opens a door. Or remove the pump fuse as shown in video.
Hey Guys.Very helpful clear and concise videos.I have a 2009 328XI w/88K.Ever since I did the valve cover gasket,this car has had issues.From no start,which turned out to be a vac leak in the evap system,I replaced vc w/new one and it finally started.There after it never ran good.Miss fires all over the place.A scan showed #6 injector stuck open so I changed them all.Unfortunatley,I was sent wrong parts..Im waiting for correct ones.I have changed 1 n 2 bank 02 sensors.I c there are 4 in my car.It has new plugs and one ignition coil replaced as it was not fireing.I have owned many BMs.Never had issues like this w/any of them..These 2000s 3s seem to be problematic.Any tips to solve my rough missfireing ?Also sending white smoke at times on excellerating.I can see car is running rich.Fuel mix is not right.Thanks,P

I have cylinder 4,5,6 misfiring and I swapped ignition coil and spark plugs numbers 1,2,3 and the misfiring stays at 4,5,6 and I just changed the fuel injectors and the car still has a check engine and I got codes P0300,P0304,P0305,P0306 can you tell me what else it could be ? Please help

My bmw 320d msport wont start but cranks I have put on computer and nothing comes up or is abnormal the intake air temperature is -50 I changed my exhaust manifold gaskets to do this I had to take the air intake manifold off injectors out rocker cover off just to get the air box out put all back together and car will crank but no start but will start with abit of help from easy start but stops running straight away?

Hey! I have a BMW e90 3 series 320i. I just replaced the valve steam seals as it was smoking. Now the smoke has stopped but it is misfiring. What could be the problem? I need your help.
Valve stem seals = Head off? If so check you aligned you timing chain to the timing Mark's. Guessing you need a kit to set it correctly. So I'd guess a miss fire = Timing not set correctly
@@JonBoy1970 what makes me to wonder is that the Machanic says that its either the crankshaft sensor or the camshaft sensor which is not functioning but it never had that problem before. Just started after replacing the valve steam seals.
@@mukwatiproh8404 I understand what your saying. The crankshaft sensor can cause running issues. I had 1 go on my e36 2005 318i msport. Ball ache to change inlet manifold off. Scan it with inpa buddy.

Try swapping one injector with another and see if the error moves. If it moves you have a faulty injector, if it remains #4 you have to look at something else. - you say you have problems with the injector circuit, so changing coil/plug does not help. for numbering start from the grill #1 and #6 is the most difficult to reach - near the windshield.
Hey, I have a 2007 BMW 328xi coupe. My sunroof as well as my cigarette lighter does not work. Is there some way you can make a video on what the issue might be? My sun roof can operate; it just doesn’t fully open or move on it’s own when I press the button. I have to keep playing with it so it can do anything.
It does not run smooth - listen to your engine. Especially on low RPM. You need a OBD2 scanner, mine was ~$60 on amazon. Dealer in Tx charges $180 for this.

I guess there is a fuel pressure release valve in the rail isn't it? Do you really need to remove the fuse and run the car until it runs out of gas?

Swapped injectors 3 and 4. error moved with it, so I knew it was the injector - changed it and no more fault codes.

Rnemorin91 probably the button or its grounding out the cig lighter Is not on same circuit so it’s a seperate problem

I have that sunroof issue, with some research I think it has to do with the sunroof button. I would try to replace the button.

This is not the same as e93 325i they have direct injection and work on piezo injectors, this video won't help you
