Just purchased this set… So does the Skimmer stay in all the time? There's no explanation with the set what the skimmer is for and when to use… Forgive my ignorance.

You really have to upgrade pump and filter with a waste feature. Extremepump is what you need

since you have two outlet ports can you use two skimmer baskets or is it better to only use one and plug the other side?

I thought about this but I find it to work great if you plug one port so the skimmer has more suction.

Trouble getting the port apart? Or juts off the pool. There may be a little set screw to separate the port

This pump and filter only has an on/off setting. With other filters, you set it on filter mode.

For the skimmer, let it float 2-4 inches below the surface of the water… but why do you have to lower your pool water level (at very end of video)
