    Hey, I just want to thank you for this video. It has helped me so much, not only in learning this song, but also using this beat as a good separation practice tool. Thanks again!!

    This was surprisingly easier than I thought it was going to be, once I got the speed up on my bass foot.

    if you listen a little closer of the rack Tom and floor tom are distinct giving more of an accent build up around the drums on the chorus example boom boom ba ba blam blam

      @Danmuircroft 7 років тому +1

      Jammit has long gone. I was lucky to screen shot the notation on my iPad (just in case)when jammit was a good app. A lot of people lost there drum notations and money

    Just curious as to why you chose the tempo at 77 instead of 154 like most others?

  • @MCM686
    @MCM686 8 років тому

    I have a good question, I've taken the hi hat as my beat thinking ok is around 152 BPM, then I watch your video and you show 16th notes for the bass drum contrary to mine that came out as 8th notes. Is it mine not the accurate tempo?

      xbrakx I re-watched this before replying ... and yes it is, if you watch past 1 min 10 sec. :) I've got to shorten those intros! -Nate

      onlinedrummer yea i got to be more patient. I usually skip through and preview how the videos going to be, since most people think talking about the song the entire time is a lesson, im still new to drums so it seemed crazy fast paced for me. But it sounds accurate.

    • @patguitarcovers5215
      @patguitarcovers5215 10 років тому

      If you're serious about the mirror image, follow these 8 easy steps...
      1. Copy the vid url.
      2. Paste it on keepvid(.)com
      3. Download the vid.
      4. Play vid using VLC.
      5. Click 'Tools' then select 'Effects and Filters.'
      6. Go to 'Video Effects' tab then 'Geometry' tab.
      7. Tick the 'Transform' checkbox.
      8. Scroll to 'Flip horizontally.'
      HTH

    Ive been drumming for 2 years now. I can't play one song. I quit.

    • @joshcarmona4118
      @joshcarmona4118 9 років тому +4

      +Sriracha_ Eggs It took me a couple of months to know the groove alone bro. Its ok. Dont quit. Its difficult, not impossible. This is like everlong, you cant play the song as soon as possible unless youre a gifted drummer. You need to give yourself time. Me im just like everybody else, slow learner but I didnt gave up. Nate here said this groove is a nice workout, this is really a good workout for seperating your feet and hands. Just be patient with yourself. 'dug dug dug dug tak dug dug dug, dug dug dug tak dug dug dug dug dug dug tak tak'. I kept this groove in my head for months constantly thinking of it everyday. lol

    • @brennanbien9072
      @brennanbien9072 9 років тому +3

      Thanks im not quitting im still struggling but i can play the first few measures.

    • @salemetro
      @salemetro 8 років тому +1

      Don't ever quit! It's totally worth it. The biggest mistake most aspiring drummers make, is that they don't slow things down to learn the part. There are times that I've had to slow down a particular pattern that I'm learning as much as 1/20th of normal speed. That's perfectly normal, and will get you learning CORRECTLY much faster. There are many kinds of software that will slow down the music for you, while keeping the pitch near-perfect...so you don't get completely lost. I strongly suggest finding a program that you like, and then use it. Remember....don't be tempted to play too fast without first committing the parts that you're trying to learn to muscle memory. Start SLOW, then speed up as you become better.

    Very nice. This is a cover for the hard ones. unlike the other covers without the 16th base, kind a sounds gay. no offense to the others. :)

  • @ELIDOTORG
    @ELIDOTORG 5 років тому +2

    That's not even close to how its played

  • @thefilmlodge
    @thefilmlodge 10 років тому

    You're kidding about not being able to play the dominate notes from the other drum part over the main drum riff, right? I do it all the time...Just gotta play left-hand lead on the hi-hat, to incorporate it. You should know this, dude. Not a bad cover...Nice job.

    • @KillianDeaton
      @KillianDeaton 10 років тому +2

      You're very much correct, but since Dave originally wrote and played everything and then later taught his band members how to play the songs on the album this is on ( The Color and the Shape) it wasn't until Hawkins joined the band that they added in the highthat. The reason was because Dave wasn't a big fan of using his left hand (weak side, even though he is a beast) and Hawkins was perfectly cool with it so he added it in to make it sound better.
