DrBrown you used your time effectively. I got a bit upset around 51:00 because the Rabbi started complaining about the destruction of the temple and using it as an argument. I think the destruction of the temple was a clear punishment lesson from God, but instead of acknowledging their sin, Jewish leaders looked for a way to turn a profit by playing the victim at every opportunity. Even to this day. It's nausiating and I applaud your patience in dealing with this properly with scripture. You're ministry is creating God's high value people!

How does a messenger tell the truth of Israel’s repeated turning from God and repeated punishment under the law and not come across as anti-Semitic? I’m sincerely asking. The good news of the blood of the Lamb of God saving the world is foolishness to the perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the very power of God. Like Passover, those who did not believe Moses’ message from God, and did not cover their home in the blood thought believers were fools. For the believers, the blood saved them from death. Please hear the message of Jesus with the spirit of love that it is intended. A Christian that does not bless Israel is no true Christian. Exodus 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh: Thus saith the LORD: Israel is My son, My first-born. And I have said unto thee: Let My son go, that he may serve Me Israel is God’s first born son and the suffering servant. NOT the man you call Jesus.
@@jamesmartin2740 It's understood that sometimes in the Scriptures God speaks of Israel as His son. It also talks about David being appointed as firstborn (Ps 89:27) But the text of Isaiah 53 refutes the idea that it's speaking of Israel in this case, as it says that the Servant was stricken for the sins of the people of Israel. It's talking about an individual. It's talking about an innocent individual whom the people reject and think of as smitten and afflicted. He suffers and dies for the people, and is raised again. As for interpretations, some famous rabbis in centuries past saw Isaiah 53 as talking about Messiah. Besides, you didn't answer my Zechariah verse, in which God Himself says that they pierced Him, and they'll mourn for this Pierced Person "as for an only son."
@@sketchbook1 Isaiah 53 doesn't refute anything I said; it affirms it. Isaiah 44:21 Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I formed you; you are my servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by me. Isaiah 45:4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I called you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me. Isaiah 48:20 Go out from Babylon, flee from Chaldea, declare this with a shout of joy, proclaim it, send it out to the end of the earth; say, “The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!” Isaiah 49:3 And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” The suffering servant is Israel (Jewish people) of which whom will be subjugated by various gentile nations, but redeemed by God in the messianic age. This prophecy turns out to be true as proven through history. Most of the subjugation brought by Christian nations. Jesus? Um, Jesus was never subjugated by the gentile nations. He was killed by the Romans and rejected by the Jews. In fact, Christianity has thrived as one of the most dominant and conquering movements of the last millennium. Goes completely against the biblical prophecy. Furthermore, Paul had THE MOST success with the gentiles and very little success with Jews. The suffering servant was not Christianity and certainly NOT Jesus. I recently had a long discussion with another Christian on here talking Zechariah. So I'm not going to repeat it again. All I will say is you should read Zechariah in its complete form carefully with a Rabbinical source that understands Hebrew. Otherwise, it can be greatly taken out of context.
Dr. Brown, I just want to say thank you for standing while we believe in the Messiah. I do appreciate it my brother you are truly soldier for Christ. I’ve been listening to you for almost 2 months. From Texas.
Funny that shmuley preached about personal accountability at the beginning, then towards the end had issue with the idea that the jews were punished for their sins, I actually think he was being deceptive like the way many muslims act, he obviously knows about the flood and how God punished people for their sins, shmuley didn't treat it like a debate, he treated it like a church service, trying to pull on people's heart strings.
Exactly. It’s typical antichrist stuff to talk with a forked tongue. One minute everyone’s accountable, the next minute it’s “how could you possibly blame the Jews?” I guess he doesn’t think God ever punished the Jews for disobedience. He multiple times calls Israel a “whore” but this man wants to paint them as a blameless suffering servant. May God have mercy on him.
You're continuing the incredibly antisemitic notion that not only are the Jews during Christ's time are responsible for His death (despite all of His followers being Jewish) but the heretical belief in an inherited sin and punishment, sin falling from father to son. Shame on you for continuing this Jew hating rhetoric, pushed onto them for 2,000 years when Christian teaching clearly states Jesus died in effect of all of us. Our sins together caused Christ to die, not just one people. Believe in your religion better and be less racist towards your God's people.

Yes, I’ve also confused anti-missionaries, though eloquent, and great debaters, as being atheistic scholars. This I think is what happens when you spend most of your time in extra biblical books (full of debates and opinion) and not spending your time in the Tanakh and Brit Hadasha! You hear this anti-missionary speaking of himself as part of the righteous… and it’s a no wonder why a Jewish author wrote in the New Testament that there is none who are righteous. I’ve seen arrogance among Protestants and Catholics and I’ve seen it among Orthodox Judaism. All have stumbled.
Rabbi shmuley says Jesus never taught that he had to die for the people's sins, But Matthew 16 says "he explained to his disciples that he must suffer at the hands of the elders and religious teachers and would die and on the third day be raised to life."
He also very clearly talked about the good Shepard giving His life for His sheep. In Mark, He talks about the Son of Man giving His life as ranson for the many..
@@rockytopbritt Eh, beg your pardon, but ransom to who? Also, on a not necessarily related note, why is Satan owed anything? And I'm including the Job story in this, regardless. And for him, also, what does count, as - 'spiritually dead'? Lastly, Romans 8:30 and Matthew 7:14, define many, as - how many?
@@chrissonofpear1384 I am not aware of Satan being owed anything. As for who is the ransom to, I would say that in this context the term ransom can be understood as a debt. He paid the debt we all have due to sin. "Many" is of course a very relative term, but here I would say it means everyone as it seems to in Daniel 12:2. My understanding is that the price of the first death has been paid for everyone hence they will be resurrected and then judged(Revelation 20: 12). Hence the "many" here is not the same as the "few" in Mathew 7:14. If you were genuinely curious I hope this was helpful.
@@rockytopbritt Well, the book of Job, kind of hints, that he was owed something. Also, sin began in heaven, too, technically. And what is the 'few' also? Also, if that path is narrow, how wide, was Satan's? I mean, onto this world. If such he set foot upon. And technically, we never all consciously chose to sin, or to be born 'natural men', too.
@@chrissonofpear1384 I don't know to what you refer to in Job. To be honest I don't understand most of your questions. It is easier to live in sin then to live in righteousness. Hence most people do the former and hence that gate is wide. As I understand it that is the point that passage is trying to convey. I suppose it is true that we don't choose to be born in a fallen world, but thankfully we are not required to be perfect just penitent. I don't agree that we don't consciously chose to sin. Unless you can tell me you have never lied or said something hurtful despite knowing it was wrong. If you are going to then ask me why did God do this or that, I am just going to tell you now I don't have an answer. I don't understand His mind and I have made my peace with that. Thank you Dr Brown 👏🏼👏🏼 praise our Father through our Lord and Savior, our perfect Lamb, our Alpha and Omega, Jesus Christ. Praying for pharisee Shmuley 🙏🏼
Rabbi Shmuley spoke about two things I consider important that Dr Brown didn't have time to make direct response to. The first was, that of Jonah and Nineveh. Interesting that Yeshua specifically referred to those who would not believe in him and who were asking him for a sign so that they might believe. He said that only a wicked generation sought a sign, but no sign would be given them, except the sign of Jonah. How was this a sign of what he had come to do? Well, Jonah was sent to the godless Ninevites (just as Yeshua was sent to his Jewish brothers), but he was surely more concerned with his own people and wanted them to repent. So too, Yeshua laments the rebellion of the Jews by remarking how often he had wanted to gather them to him, like a hen does her chickens, but they murder all the prophets he sends. Then Jonah freely gives his life to save those in the boat when he flees from God and is thrown in the water. There he is in the belly of the fish for three days. This is exactly what Yeshua does too. And just like Jonah, he is raised back to life and those who believe in his word and repent are saved. The second is the words of Yeshua on the cross, "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Far from being words of despair, Yeshua references psalm 22 which is a most graphic description of the events on the cross. So, he displays clarity of mind and understanding of what is happening by referring to this psalm. After all the events told in that psalm are done, he echoes the closing thereof in his last words (the psalm concludes with, "he has done it", and Yeshua says, "it is finished" because he is the one who has done it). This understanding is reflected by each gospel writer in their relation of the crucifiction. It is shameful how rabbi Shmuley twists Dr Brown's words to imply that he was being anti-Semitic in his comment. Irrespective of who you are, and even if you repent and accept Yeshua as saviour, what you sow in the flesh is what you shall reap. If you are obese and accept Yeshua today, you will not wake up tomorrow being fit and in shape. You still have to change your habits and lifestyle to reap a healthy body. I hope this comment is helpful.
Jonah did not give his life for the people cause he was initially the cause of the storm that was about to take their lives. But JESUS was not the cause of Israel's nor the world's problems.
@@chellyik1603 In that you are right, but I did not take the parallel that far, did I? The voluntary nature of their sacrifice to save others is however a common factor. No lived prophecy can ever be an exact and full replication of the fulfilment, but there are enough such common factors to point to the fulfilment. Nor was it me who made the comparison at first. It was Yeshua himself who said that this was a sign for them.
He did address it. He mentioned that during the time of Nineveh there were sacrifices going on in Israel at the temple that would have also atoned for the surrounding nations.

Rabbi Elazar said: These seventy bulls that are sacrificed as additional offerings over the course of the seven days of Sukkot, to what do they correspond? They correspond to the seventy nations of the world, and are brought to atone for their sins and to hasten world peace. Why is a single bull sacrificed on the Eighth Day of Assembly? The rabbi isn’t saying anything new to how the Jewish people have always viewed Isaiah 53. It’s not that Israel or a singular person died “for” the sins of the world/nations as people seem to think, that would constitute vicarious atonement which is forbidden and spoken against by the prophets. It’s Israel dying BECAUSE of the sins of the nations as its indicated in the following sequence of events. Isaiah is narrating what the kings of nations have come to realize and will say before the messianic era: We, (the kings of nations are speaking), thought him, (Israel) stricken of God but it was because of our sins, (the nations sins) he, (Israel) suffered. This acknowledgment of the nations is what causes their atonement. It parallels David’s story where, just as G-d forgave David his sin with Batsheva and Uriah, in that same manner, it triggers Gods forgiveness to the nations. King David realized his error when he plotted and killed Uriah. David realizes that he sinned and his recognition of that was all that was needed for God to forgive him. As Nathan said when David uttered the words “I have sinned before the L-rd”. Nathan said; God has already forgiven you. Dr Brown may have a phd and may quote from the top of his head but they are all misquotes and meanings taken out of context. Micheal Brown’s final discourse wasn’t an appeal to knowledge but emotion. The fact is that his prayer will go unanswered because God already tells us in his Torah that a man cannot die on anyone’s behalf, that the just cannot die for the unjust nor there’s anything stating that the “messiah” is to die and rise again on the 3rd day. So all you that follow Browns message, study the Torah because Gods answer to you is already there, NO need to make the prayer Brown stated because it will be in vain. @@polynesia8733 Ok, instead of going thru that citation with you one by one because it would take to long, how do you read the last phrase “ and he will BEAR their iniquities”? This is NOT him dying FOR their sins but BECAUSE of their sins. It can’t be FOR their sins because that would constitute vicarious suffering for another person which is forbidden and spoken of against by the prophets of Israel. Keep in mind, that if you break just 1 link in a chain everything falls apart. The Torah is just this way. There is not 1 extra letter, not 1 extra word in the Hebrew Scriptures by saying vicarious atonement is permitted, you’d then be in conflict with our prophets. If you think that human sacrifice is permitted, you’d be in conflict with G-d and our prophets who spoke against it. Ezekiel 18:20-24 Psalms 49:7 and Deuteronomy 24:16 well, you know what it means because you opened your dialogue with the theme: “Let’s just say that you’re correct that the just cannot die for the unjust” I am not straw manning your beliefs. Christianity believes that a man died FOR their sins which does not only constitutes vicarious suffering for others but human sacrifice, which is detestable by G-d and our people. So, when you read Isaiah, it doesn’t read like regular reading. He’s using poetic language. The suffering servant is Israel. How do we know this? We know this because Isaiah himself highlights it throughout his previous chapters 41, 44, 45, 48, 49 etc. Of course, if you land like a helicopter on anyone chapter or book for that matter and you don’t read the entire book you won’t know what the story is about. That’s true with any book.
When the rabbi gives his closing statement about Lubavitcher Rebbe, I find it very interesting that he says "If he was more than a man, how could he possibly touch my life? He wouldn't know what I struggle with, he wouldn't know what I wrestle with, he wouldn't know my challenges. And I could dismiss him because he's superhuman. But because he was a man, he could touch my life. Because he was there with me in the trenches and he emerged victorious, he lived a godly life, and beckons me, today he haunts me to follow suit and lead a godly life. And because he was a man, I have no excuse." In this statement, he's admitting that God the Father in heaven does not inspire him to lead a godly life, because "He wouldn't know what I struggle with, he wouldn't know what I wrestle with, he wouldn't know my challenges." I think God knew that people would struggle to feel understood by a God who didn't walk among us experiencing the things we do as humans, and it's why He became a man and got into the trenches with us, being tempted in all ways as we are and yet resisted sin.
Be holy as I am holy. God sets the standard and we all fall short. But instead of accepting the true way and believing Jesus achieved it for us, the solution is to lower the standard and live up to the example of men, not God. This is certainly not biblical and Godly.
The kindness and peace I perceive in Dr. Brown's words and gestures vs the pride and anger I perceive in Shmuely's words and gestures I think testify who knows YHWH better by having a closer relationship with Him. I love and admire Rabbi Shmuely, but it amazed me how little he seemed to understand his own Torah/Tanakh, and didn’t approach the questions with answers directly from the Bible, but used stories that pull on heartstrings to manipulate feelings. That’s gotta be the most important reason I give the win, hands down, to Dr. Brown. He wasn’t trying to make a hard sale by mustering up so much emotionally charged responses, but by pointing to Scripture, in true context, which is written in plain sight, and trusted as G-d’s Word. In closing, if you deny that which you can read for yourself, your argument is with HaShem, who because of His Love, came Himself, as a “Man”, to witness and experience the human day-to-day life, with it’s trials, discomforts, suffering and temptations-in order to have empathy for each of us-yet remaining sinless, in order to NOT ONLY be the Perfect Sacrificial Atonement for mankind, but to CRUSH the head of HaSatan, and RESTORE EDEN, as promised. Scripture is clear that in the end the vast majority of Jews rejected and despised Jesus. It should also be pointed out that Isaiah 53 does not specifically state that he is despised only while here in the flesh. The fact that most Jews, like rabbi Shmuley, will reject so much of their own scripture and tradition in an attempt to delegitimize Jesus is, in and of itself, fulfillment of Isaiah 53.

@@sonoftheking1977 The fact that Isaiah 53 is talking about a messiah or a single individual is not supported. Though it is a messianic text, the word messiah is not even found in Isaiah 53 or that it is implying to an individual as a servant but according to our Talmud it can mean that if you pick a single individual from the righteous remnant of Israel, that single individual is a servant of God because he’s a part of the righteous remnant. So yes, the messiah is a servant. However, 53 is not referring solely to the messianic figure but all Israel as Gods servant. The reason we know it’s the righteous “remnants” of Israel is because of the context throughout Isaiah leading up to Isaiah 53, Israel as a whole is constantly mentioned as the servant of God. Isaiah assumed you would read the prior chapters of his book to know what Isaiah 53 was talking about like any other book or novel would. The suffering servant is Israel. People like yourself will quote Mathew or maybe it’s the gospel of John I’m not sure but Christian’s will quote these words that Jews supposedly said “his blood be upon us and our children forever”. So the world thinks we are smitten of God but it was because of the nations sins we suffered. Just look at today’s news isn’t Israel evil in the eyes of the world? You think that’s not a suffering we are enduring? So what’s the problem in you understanding this? More precisely, Isaiah 65 narrates what’s happening and what G-d is doing to the nations. He’s rebuking them because he sent Israel to them to be a light unto them but all they did was shun, persecute and kill his “servants” this time he’s clear about it. He’s clear in Isaiah 65 because 53 was the fourth of four servant songs written in a poetic language.
@avrahamisaacs2593 That's not what I read in the prophets. Israel suffers because yal love sin more than ha shem not because of the sins of the nations. That's why Israel has one if the largest pride parades. And also because you kill ur own prophets the same way your fore fathers did Yeshua. Plus Israel's suffering as Dr brown mentioned hasn't really brought anyone to know the God of Israel. Many people worship YOUR GOD BECAUSE OF YESHUA NOT BECAUSE OF ISRAEL AS A NATION ITSELF. MANY PEOLLE READ YOUR TORAH BECAUSE OF JESUS. NOT BECAUSE OF YOU OR ANY OTHER JEW. Jesus is the messiah repent or perish in ur sins

Schmuley has the temerity to quote the gospels about the triumphal entry, but then Isaiah 53, claiming Jesus didn't keep silent like a sheep before its shearers. THE SAME GOSPELS which a few chapters later talk of Jesus offering no reply in his defense at all the false accusations.
@tatie7604 What does a virgin born have to do with anything? Plus, nothing in the Old Testament even has anything close to a virgin bearing children. Even if a virgin had children, what does that have to do with transgressions and / or mankind sins and Messiah criterias
@@jbunstoppable5074The virgin birth was necessary in order that Messiah would not be linked with Adam's transgression. And therefore inherit the sinful nature which we all pocess because of that transgression.
@@springtown24 So the criteria of a messiah coming is based on an order to not link the messiah to Adam? Is this a criteria for the messiah to come mentioned in the Bible? What is the criteria for the coming messiah? I ask sincerely as I’m trying to follow the logic.
It is the acceptance and trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We all deserve death, He took it for us and gave us His righteousness...evil will end.
Dr. Brown, you are so patient and loving in delivering the truth. The Rabbi asked about Jews being punished for their sins...it was not for any sin, but the sin that the scriptures several times recorded...the Jews turning away from their God...the only real and true God in the world...through which the world would be saved. God also punished those in the early church who could have spoiled His bride (i.e. Ananias and Sapphira). Lord open their eyes. Jesus said if you really believed Moses, you would have believed in me, because Moses spoke about me.
Hmm, but then maybe He should have more clearly, fulfilled all the attested Mossiach requirements, and for the suffering servant, specific physical description, and accomplishments in lifetime, however? Also, are you including the Inquisition in these 'punishments'?

27:00 "without repentance"? Is that not the message of Jesus? "Repent!" Jesus calls us to repentance and in Him we find life, eternal life. We're not called to accept Jesus and just live how we want. Jesus calls us to live in Him and walk according to the Spirit. Paul said that if we walk according to the flesh we will fulfill the desires of the flesh, but if we walk according to the Spirit, the will of God, then we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
The oldest Jewish commentary on Isaiah, the Targum Jonathan written in the 2nd century CE teaches that the suffering servant of Israel is the Messiah, so this view of Isaiah 53 was the most famous jewish view until the middle ages. FULL COMMENTARY: Targum Y´honatan 52:13 Behold, My servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.52:13. Behold my servant Messiah shall prosper; he shall be high, and increase, and be exceeding strong: 52:14 According as many were appalled at thee-so marred was his visage unlike that of a man, and his form unlike that of the sons of men-52:14. as the house of Israel looked to him during many days, because their countenance was darkened among the peoples, and their complexion beyond the sons of men, 52:15 So shall he startle many nations, kings shall shut their mouths because of him; for that which had not been told them shall they see, and that which they had not heard shall they perceive.52:15. so will he scatter many peoples; at him kings shall be silent, and put their hands upon their mouth, because that which was not told them have they seen, and that which they had not heard they have observed. 53:1 ‘Who would have believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the LORD been revealed?53:1. Who hath believed this our glad tidings? and the strength of the mighty arm of the Lord, upon whom as thus hath it been revealed? 53:2 For he shot up right forth as a sapling, and as a root out of a dry ground; he had no form nor comeliness, that we should look upon him, nor beauty that we should delight in him.53:2. The righteous will grow up before him, yeah, like blooming shoots, and like a tree which sends forth its roots to streams of water will they increase - a holy generation in the land that was in need of him; his countenance no profane countenance, and the terror at him not the terror at an ordinary man; his complexion shall be a holy complexion, and all who see him will look wistfully upon him. 53:3 He was despised, and forsaken of men, a man of pains, and acquainted with disease, and as one from whom men hide their face: he was despised, and we esteemed him not.53:3. Then he will become despised, and will cut off the glory of all the kingdoms; they will be prostrate and mourning, like a man of pains and like one destined for sicknesses; and as though the presence of the Shekhinah had been withdrawn from us, they will be despised, and esteemed not. 53:4 Surely our diseases he did bear, and our pains he carried; whereas we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.53:4. Then for our sins he will pray, and our iniquities will for his sake be forgiven, although we were accounted stricken, smitten from before the Lord, and afflicted. 53:5 But he was wounded because of our transgressions, he was crushed because of our iniquities: the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his stripes we were healed.53:5. But he will build up the Holy Place, which has been polluted for our sins, and delivered to the enemy for our iniquities; and by his instruction peace shall be increased upon us, and by devotion to his words, our sins will be forgiven us. 53:6 All we like sheep did go astray, we turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath made to light on him the iniquity of us all.53:6. All we like sheep had been scattered, we had each wandered off on his own way; but it was the Lord's good pleasure to forgive the sins of all of us for his sake. 53:7 He was oppressed, though he humbled himself and opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before her shearers is dumb; yea, he opened not his mouth.53:7. He prayed, and he was answered, and ere even he had opened his mouth he was accepted; the mighty of the peoples he will deliver up like a sheep to the slaughter and like a lamb dumb before her shearers; there shall be none before him opening his mouth or saying a word 53:8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away, and with his generation who did reason? for he was cut off out of the land of the living, for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due.53:8. Out of chastisements and punishment he will bring our captives near; the wondrous things done to us in his days who shall be able to tell? For he will cause the dominion of the Gentiles to pass away from the land of Israel and transfer to them the sins which my people have committed. 53:9 And they made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich his tomb; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.’53:9. He will deliver the wicked into Gehinnom, and those that are rich in possessions into the death of utter destruction, in order that those who commit sin may not be established, nor speak deceits with their mouth. 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to crush him by disease; to see if his soul would offer itself in restitution, that he might see his seed, prolong his days, and that the purpose of the LORD might prosper by his hand:53:10. But it is the Lord's good pleasure to try and to purify the remnant of his people, so as to cleanse their souls from sin; these shall look on the Kingdom of their Messiah, their sons and their daughters shall be multiplied, they shall prolong their days, and those who perform the Law of the Lord shall prosper in his good pleasure. 53:11 Of the travail of his soul he shall see to the full, even My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, and their iniquities he did bear.53:11. From the subjection of the nations he will deliver their souls, they shall look upon the punishment of those that hate them, and be satisfied with the spoil of their kings; by his wisdom he will hold the guiltless free from guilt, in order to bring many into subjection to the law; and for their sins he will intercede. 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion among the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the mighty; because he bared his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.53:12. Then will I divide for him the spoil of many peoples, and the possessions of strong cities shall he divide as prey, because he delivered up his soul to death, and made the rebellious subject to the Law: he shall intercede for many sins, and the rebellious for his sake shall be forgiven

Rabbi did not but use scripture to debate his point of view, he uses emotionalism and victimhood of the Jews to manipulate the emotions of his audience and it doesn’t even take a great biblical scholar like Dr Brown to counter and correct all of rabbis objections and emotions to Jesus as the suffering servant. Irrational and unreasonable arguments from the rabbi.
I liked this debate, while the Rabbi makes emotional appeals I do not think he has proper rebuttals to the points raised by Dr. Michael. I was inspired by the passion of the Rabbi but in my perspective Dr. Michael argued accurately from scripture to the question at hand. Thank you for sharing this debate.
The rabbi forgot Ezekiel 18:23 -"Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord GOD, “rather than that he would turn from his ways and live?"
36:24 “the lamb going to slaughter” can not and does not apply to Abraham Lincoln or Martin Luther King junior or anyone else, other than Jesus, because the lamb is and must be unblemished (innocent of sin) but Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. and every other person on the planet is not innocent. Yes, people (including the Jewish people) suffer but they are not innocent (unblemished) against a holy God, major difference. Dr brown responds 44:20 can’t be the nation of Israel because it would break the covenant of Leviticus and Deuteronomy and the suffering servant must be sinless.
In reference to the rabbi’s response to the siege and destruction of the temple and killing of over 1 million. This was prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24 and is the basis upon the judgement narrative in Revelation. It was His judgement for their rejection and murdering of the Son who came to demand fruit of the vinekeepers (Israel), just as all the murdered prophets before Him. Yet they refused, rejected, and had him murdered in cooperation with the Romans. God judged them and destroyed the temple by means of the Roman army, just as he did during their judgement and exile by the Babylonians and Assyrians.
John 19 Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His head, and dressed Him in a purple robe. 3And they went up to Him again and again, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapping Him in the face. 4Once again Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing Him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.” 5When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” 6As soon as the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” “You take Him and crucify Him,” Pilate replied, “for I find no basis for a charge against Him.” 7“We have a law,” answered the Jews, “and according to that law He must die, because He declared Himself to be the Son of God.” 8When Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid, 9and he went back into the Praetorium. “Where are You from?” he asked. But Jesus gave no answer. 10So Pilate said to Him, “Do You refuse to speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You and authority to crucify You?” 11Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed Me over to you is guilty of greater sin.” 12From then on, Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jews kept shouting, “If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who declares himself a king is defying Caesar.” 13When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, which in Hebrewa is Gabbatha. 14It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour.b And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!” 15At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” “Shall I crucify your King?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” replied the chief priests.
Being told that you are filthy rags and that you have no righteousness or ability to sanctify yourself through works strikes an animalistic response in those who believe they can somehow make right their sins without the sacrifice of innocent blood. Also, the statements from Yeshua concerning His divinity were blasphemous to the sensibilities of those under the sway of the religious leaders of the day. But, you can’t help but notice that Nicodemus discerned who Yeshua was and he did not consider Yeshua blasphemous but rather believed that He was indeed who He claimed to be. So, they had “reason” to hate Him but it certainly wasn’t justified since Yeshua was indeed who He said He was. And He was performing exactly what He was instructed to perform as given by God.
He gave his reasoning for why he won't believe in Jesus at the messiah. Not because he can't but because he won't. He can not fathom that the sins of those who killed the Jews in the holocaust can be forgiven. Jesus changes a heart of evil to a heart of good, the born again experience is evidence in itself
After hearing Rabbi Shmuley Boteach's presentation on Isaiah 53, I kind of understood why Jewish learners missed their messiah when He came to them two thousand years ago and have been missing Him ever since. What a pity!
When it says that Jesus was led to the slaughter and he didn't open his mouth, that's talking about Jesus not opening his mouth and trying to make a case or trying to make an argument to try to get himself out of what he just got himself into so yes he kept his mouth shut from trying to avoid the crucifixion
Great observation 👍 but you are confounding what the Rabbi is saying when he said isreal suffers and Jews die for a cause. Let's break it down In Orthodox Judaism, the belief that "no one dies for someone else's sin" is upheld. This principle is rooted in the concept of individual responsibility for one's own actions and consequences. Additionally, the idea that Israel died and suffered for the sins of the world does not align with Orthodox Jewish theology. So we can assume that the Rabbi doesn't mean this according to orthodox judasim since Premise 1: In Orthodox Judaism, each individual is responsible for their own actions and the consequences that result from them. Premise 2: The belief in personal accountability is central to Orthodox Jewish teachings. Premise 3: According to Orthodox Jewish beliefs, no one can bear the burden of another person's sins. Conclusion: Therefore, in Orthodox Judaism, it is not accepted that someone else, including Israel, can die or suffer for the sins of the world. Each individual is responsible for their own sins and has the opportunity for personal repentance and growth. So what can the Rabbi then mean-should be the reasonable intellectual question to ask not jump for assumptions lol. It's OK. the average person misses the point lol so don't feel bad. Let me elaborate to help you understand As referring to the Jewish people who die, just as many people die and suffer is what the Rabbi meant. Your understanding seems skewed. Please refer to chabad.org to better understand the Rabbi. Think of it this way... Did not Dr. King die and suffer in America for a cause? Doesn't mean he atoned for the sins of the world just like a Jewish person dying for a cause doesn't mean he atoned for the world. In Isaiah, the Jewish people are the suffering servant. So therfore the Rabbi must mean that Jewish people die for causes, not to Atone.
It’s not that Israel died “for” the sins of the nations as you mentioned. It’s Israel dying BECAUSE of the sins of the nations. as its indicated in the following sequence of events as Isaiah is narrating what the kings of nations will say before the messianic era: We, (the kings of nations are speaking), thought him, (Israel) stricken of God but it was because of our sins, (the nations sins) he, (Israel) suffered.

Do you really feel proud of the “gospel”.? lol the NT itself will instruct you saying don’t be ashamed of the gospel but consider the path you’re in and ask yourself if anything I’ve said is to straw man your belief or am I saying exactly how it is. I don’t have the habit of saying things twice. I’ve very well answered your posts. The reason you see past what I’ve posted is because of your affiliation to the idol you worship. Again, I’ll leave the citations for the servant below so whoever reads this might be persuaded by the words of the prophet because we all have an opinion but have you ever asked what is Gods opinion? Well here, this is Gods opinion. Isaiah 41:8-9, Isaiah 44:1, Isaiah 44:21, Isaiah 45:4, Isaiah 48:20, Isaiah 49:3, According to this widespread rabbinic opinion, Isaiah 53 contains a deeply moving narrative which world leaders will cry aloud in the messianic age. The humbled kings of nations (52: 15) will confess that Jewish suffering occurred as a direct result of “our own iniquity,” (53:5) e.g., depraved Jew-hatred, rather than, as they previously thought, the stubborn blindness of the Jews.
How about the people who came after David because of what he did to Bathsheba and her husband Uriah? David sinned, he was attacked or pursued by people who wanted to do him harm because of his sin and yet God still forgave him
There is nothing more antithetical to the practice of human sacrifice then the virtue of self-sacrifice. One is killing another for yourself, the other is giving your life to save another. A clear distinction between evil and good.

Not going to lie, I've watched several rabbis debates lately and I'm still shocked that they argue like Twitch streamers for the most part, emotional arguments left and right and non-answers, they are struggling with mental gymnastic to fit their narrative at all costs, meanwhile the rest of the Christian world has realized for more than 2000 years that it's obvious that Jesus is the one who fulfilled the prophecy. You don't need a scholar to see and understand that, but it certainly takes one to make arguments complex and hard to tackle enough so that the average guy who doesn't remember the whole books can't properly debate, dr. Brown brilliantly shows time and time again that the answer is and has been in plain sight for a long time, you just need to read the scriptures, that's it
Your own Bible affirms Israel’s blindness. It’s not us saying it; it’s your own GOD saying it! Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them." But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
I was raised in a cult that said it’s wrong to leave and turned us against other denominations, so it’s kind of easy to spot that some things the Rabbi brings up are aimed at his Jewish audience to remind them why they should never consider Christianity.
Rabbi Shmuley wants Dr. Brown to take “his words back” perhaps he should ask Prophet Zechariah to do the same as he prophesied in Chapter 11 of the Carnage and destruction that would happen do to rejection of *The TRUE SHEPHERD*
“You are the promised one of Israel, The Messiah” Peter “You didn’t figure that out on your own, it was revealed to you from your Heavenly Father” Jesus Rabbi is just like I was, lost and unable to believe without the Spirit revealing it.
I knew he led Dr. Brown into making that comment that the Jews didn’t accept the atonement. But Dr. Brown didn’t “say” their were consequences, the Rabbi did.
At 27 minutes, free will is not anthema to being Christian. We Christians have free will as much as anyone of our fellow 8 billion brethren have. Jesus did die a gruesome death for our sins. We still have agency to make poor decisions. As a practicing Methodist, 1. People are all, by nature, "dead in sin". 2. They are justified by faith alone. 3. Faith produces inward and outward holiness. (copied and pasted from Wikipedia). My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter.
I pray for Rabbi Shmuley's soul. May He encounter the Lord Jesus before it's too late. He reads Scripture according to the flesh, sees only according to natural Israel. A blind Nat trying to lead the blind. His faith is void of the Spirit. Only God is eternal. He continues the traditions of his fathers in rejecting the only One who can atone for sin. This is why we pray for Israel. Lord, help them! For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15)

I have watched a few debates between these two now, and I have a question for Mr. Brown: Why, when you are talking about and trying to prove Jesus and also trying to dissuade antisemitism do you not explain that because of the sacrificial system that God set up that Jesus had to be put to death by the Priests as the only ones qualified to make sacrifices and that the gentiles had to also take part in the sacrifice of Jesus (crucify him) so that they too would be partakers of the sacrifice? We know that this all plays out on the Feast of Passover and Jesus (as well as everyone else involved) is fulfilling Scripture down to the last letter. While the priests are offering the lambs on the altar, they are also offering THE Lamb on the altar and the gentiles are there as active participants to also be partakers of the sacrifice. Maybe speaking of it this way would help to ease tensions when we understand that we all (had) to slaughter THE Lamb in order to benefit from His sacrifice because we're all guilty of sin.
It's the Holy Ghost that we need! The comforter sent from Jesus. The power we need to walk through this life. That spirit that raised Jesus from the grave. Abraham called on the name of the LORD.
Isaiah 53. Read Isaiah 41:8-9, 43:10, 44:1, 44:8, 44:21, 45:4. All of the above passages say the nation of Israel is the servant. All of these passages lead up to 53. If just going by logic....53 must also agree that the servant is Israel. Otherwise, 53 must be taken out of context to be about someone else. Dr. Brown states that from 48 onward, the text is speaking of a single person as a servant. 49:3 is clearly talking about Isaiah himself....."and he said to me" the writer. Isaiah was a member of Israel and is therefore a servant of Hashem just as much as any Torah observant Jew. 43:10 clearly demonstrates the Servant is both singular and Plural. Witnesses and my servant. G-D frequently refers to Israel with both see Jeremiah 30:10 where the nation of Israel is also referred to as a "Servant" in singular form. In Exodus 4:22 they are referred to as G-D's "Firstborn son"....singular. Hosea 11:1 also does this. This idea is common-place all over the Old Testament. Isaiah 52:15: So shall he cast down many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him, for, what had not been told them they saw, and [at] what they had not heard they gazed. What nation today hasn't heard of Jesus?? This speaks of nations of the world in complete shock because they discover something they did not know nor did they ever consider it. Isaiah 53:1: Who would have believed our report, and to whom was the arm of the L-rd revealed? This is clearly the shocked nations speaking. In fact verses 1 through 8 of 53 are the kings of nations speaking. With this said, they have erroneous belief's that are also displayed in verses 1-8. Exodus 32:30-33, Ezekiel 18, Deuteronomy 24:16 make clear that one man cannot atone for the sins of someone else. The person that sins, they must obtain atonement themselves and another man cannot provide it in any way. Verses 9 through 12 is HaShem/G-D speaking. Verse 5 reads: But he was pained because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his wound we were healed. In mistranslations the text says "But he was pained FOR our transgressions". This is not what the text says in the Hebrew original. It says "Pained BECAUSE of/From our transgressions". Verse 8 is highly mistranslated. In Christian texts it says: "By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. Hebrew original says: מֵעֹ֚צֶר וּמִמִּשְׁפָּט֙ לֻקָּ֔ח וְאֶת־דּוֹר֖וֹ מִ֣י יְשׂוֹחֵ֑חַ כִּ֚י נִגְזַר֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ חַיִּ֔ים מִפֶּ֥שַׁע עַמִּ֖י נֶ֥גַע לָֽמוֹ: Correct Translation: From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them. Compare the two translations. The last word in the Hebrew is לָֽמוֹ which is pronounced "Lamoe". It is plural. The Christian text translats this word as "He" as in "For the Transgression of my people HE was punished". They translated a plural word in singular form. It should read "Because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell THEM". This clearly demonstrates the servant is many people AFTER Chapter 49. Verse 10 Christian translation: Yet it was the L-rd’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the L-rd makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the L-rd will prosper in his hand. Verse 10 Jewish translation: And the L-rd wished to crush him, He made him ill; if his soul admits guilt, he shall see children, he shall prolong his days, and G-d's purpose shall prosper in his hand. The Hebrew says: וַֽיהֹוָ֞ה חָפֵ֚ץ דַּכְּאוֹ֙ הֶֽחֱלִ֔י אִם־תָּשִׂ֚ים אָשָׁם֙ נַפְשׁ֔וֹ יִרְאֶ֥ה זֶ֖רַע יַֽאֲרִ֣יךְ יָמִ֑ים וְחֵ֥פֶץ יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּיָד֥וֹ יִצְלָֽח: This says "if his soul admits guilt" The Hebrew word here is pronounced Asham which means guilt. The Christian version replaces this word with Sin. Guilt and sin are two completely different concepts and Hebrew words. This servant is a SINNER! If this servant is a sin offering it means death. The Hebrew word used here for Children is "Zerah" or "זֶ֖רַע". This word can only mean physical flesh and blood descendants in biblical hebrew. It cannot mean spritual children which would be "Bnay". How can a dead person produce physical children? They cannot and is not possible. It also states that this Servant will "Prolong his days". You cannot prolong your days if you are a sin offering. You can prolong your days if you admit guilt as a sinner. I will lastly point out that verse 11 states that others will be saved by the servants KNOWLEDGE! Has nothing to do with a sin offering of any kind. It's KNOWLEDGE.....THE KNOWLEDGE I JUST TYPED HERE! Simply admit guilt, ask for forgiveness, repent of bad actions that caused you to have to admit guilt. Read Zephaniah 3:13 which uses the same language as Isaiah 53 and clearly mentions Israel. Isaiah 55:7 states: The wicked shall give up his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts, and he shall return to the L-rd, Who shall have mercy upon him, and to our G-d, for He will FREELY PARDON. iSAIAH 55:7 makes it quite clear no sin sacrifice is required at all!!! No acknowledgement of someone dying for your sins. Simply give up the inquity, admit guilt, follow G-D's Torah and that's all you have to do! You will be immediately forgiven. Give to Charity is a great way to show HaShem/G-D that you are sincere.....Read Daniel 4:27 which is the exact advice Daniel gives to Nebuchadnezzar, a non Jew. This text is grossly misued and mistranslated in Christian texts and is quite clearly demonstrated. You should ask yourself this: Why do none of the authors of the New testament NOT use Isaiah 53 as a proof text? Because they clearly knew something you do not know but NOW if you read this far...you do! Shalom!
DrBrown you used your time effectively. I got a bit upset around 51:00 because the Rabbi started complaining about the destruction of the temple and using it as an argument. @@jamesmartin2740 It's understood that sometimes in the Scriptures God speaks of Israel as His son. It also talks about David being appointed as firstborn (Ps 89:27)
But the text of Isaiah 53 refutes the idea that it's speaking of Israel in this case, as it says that the Servant was stricken for the sins of the people of Israel.
It's talking about an individual. It's talking about an innocent individual whom the people reject and think of as smitten and afflicted. He suffers and dies for the people, and is raised again.
As for interpretations, some famous rabbis in centuries past saw Isaiah 53 as talking about Messiah.

The suffering servant is Israel (Jewish people) of which whom will be subjugated by various gentile nations, but redeemed by God in the messianic age.

What I can tell you is that we all do things we know are wrong, but Christ is the rectification of that. I think that is all I have to say. God Bless

34 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.
35 On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein:
36 But ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish:
There was a total of 70 bulls offered over the 7 days then only one was offered on the eight day.
It corresponds to the singular nation, Israel

Men like Dr. Brown keep me studying the Word of God.
To worship a man and Jesus was a man, is called foreign worship and idolatry, utterly repulsive to G-d, utterly repulsive to Judaism. Christianity is a forgery created by Rome not Israel.

Ezekiel 18:20-24 Psalms 49:7 and Deuteronomy 24:16 well, you know what it means because you opened your dialogue with the theme:
“Let’s just say that you’re correct that the just cannot die for the unjust”
I am not straw manning your beliefs.
And because he was a man, I have no excuse."
In this statement, he's admitting that God the Father in heaven does not inspire him to lead a godly life, because "He wouldn't know what I struggle with, he wouldn't know what I wrestle with, he wouldn't know my challenges." I think God knew that people would struggle to feel understood by a God who didn't walk among us experiencing the things we do as humans, and it's why He became a man and got into the trenches with us, being tempted in all ways as we are and yet resisted sin.
Truly, only G-d could possibly accomplish such a thing! Thank You, Abba! And thank you to Rabbi Shmuely and Dr. Brown. Well done! Matthew 15:31/Romans 11:25 Mashiach Now! Maranatha! 🙌🏼
Beautifully done. Glory to God.
His opening sounded straight from the Garden.. All you have to do is eat the fruit and you will be like God...
I can choose my own destiny, I can be responsible for my sin, I can take pride in, I can, I can, I am, I am, I will, I will.. “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north” (Isaiah 14:13).
There is beauty in understanding that... You can't.
😅 The rabbi isn’t saying anything new to how the Jewish people have always viewed Isaiah 53. To worship a man and Jesus was a man, is called foreign worship and idolatry, utterly repulsive to G-d, utterly repulsive to Judaism. Christianity is a forgery created by Rome not Israel.
@@avrahamisaacs2593 FALSE! Many rabbis Gabe acknowledged that isaiah 53 is about the suffering of the messiah
Just look at ancient and recent history, the closest history is the holocaust. Who suffered, Jesus? lol No sir. And why has Israel suffered?
Rabbi Shmuley who seems like a nice dude, unfortunately just came with strawmans and emotionalism.
How? Please explain
And the crowds called for his death.

Why should people recognize Jesus?
Jesus is the virgin born Son of God.

The oldest Jewish commentary on Isaiah, the Targum Jonathan written in the 2nd century CE teaches that the suffering servant of Israel is the Messiah, so this view of Isaiah 53 was the most famous jewish view until the middle ages.

Targum Y´honatan
52:13 Behold, My servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.52:13.

Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His head, and dressed Him in a purple robe. 3And they went up to Him again and again, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapping Him in the face.
4Once again Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing Him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.” 5When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”
6As soon as the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
“You take Him and crucify Him,” Pilate replied, “for I find no basis for a charge against Him.”
7“We have a law,” answered the Jews, “and according to that law He must die, because He declared Himself to be the Son of God.”
8When Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid, 9and he went back into the Praetorium. “Where are You from?” he asked.

10So Pilate said to Him, “Do You refuse to speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You and authority to crucify You?”
11Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed Me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”
12From then on, Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jews kept shouting, “If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who declares himself a king is defying Caesar.”
13When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, which in Hebrewa is Gabbatha. 14It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour.b And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!”
15At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!”
“Shall I crucify your King?” Pilate asked.
“We have no king but Caesar,” replied the chief priests.

Appeal to emotion versus appeal to evidence , you can decide who is who
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach comes across as completely disingenuous.
" without reason they hated me". 😥

Rabbi: no one dies for someone else’s sins
Also a rabbi: Israel died and suffer for the sins of the world
Great observation 👍 but you are confounding what the Rabbi is saying when he said isreal suffers and Jews die for a cause. Let's break it down
In Orthodox Judaism, the belief that "no one dies for someone else's sin" is upheld. This principle is rooted in the concept of individual responsibility for one's own actions and consequences. Additionally, the idea that Israel died and suffered for the sins of the world does not align with Orthodox Jewish theology. So we can assume that the Rabbi doesn't mean this according to orthodox judasim since
Premise 1: In Orthodox Judaism, each individual is responsible for their own actions and the consequences that result from them.
Let me elaborate to help you understand
As referring to the Jewish people who die, just as many people die and suffer is what the Rabbi meant.

Just look it up it’s all through the book of Isaiah starting from chapters 41 and up. We don’t cherry pick that would be Christianity who taught you that style (how’s that for lashing out)? Anyways, just put a little effort into your already knowledge of the scriptures you’ve used and keep in mind that every single knowledgeable Jew living abroad or at home in Israel are one in the interpretation of Isaiah. Israel God says you are my servant. Israel you are my witnesseS and my servant. It’s all over Isaiah and though you may mock our people we still make intersession for all mankind. When we end our morning afternoon and evening prayers we say; may no man be punished on our account.
@@matthewsouthwell3500 I’ve more than answered your points of view and I have neither deflected your obvious misquotes nor have you refuted me lol. Simply read my previous posts again but as you say, I will say the same with a minor difference; your problem IS with me and Gods holy words because you won’t get over the anti- semetic rhetorics written of which you learned from your NT. We Jews are here to deceive you gentiles because we’re the devil and the spawn of satan. Isn’t this in your precious book the NT? Well, we’ve always known this is the reason behind your blindness but you have the ability to master over it. You have a mind to reason and you have the ability within you since you’re created in the image of God, to reject the s’atan/obstacles that are in front of you. That obstacle is, the NT and the Greco Roman rendition of the God of Israel which has skewed the world into darkness not light. Into idolatry NOT the path to God but the path away from God. Just look back. History shows you what religious institution is responsible for the greatest amounts of deaths to Jews and Christian’s alike. That would be the Christian church, those who render homage to Jesus, those who worship him by claiming he’s God himself. You’re part of that group. Do you really feel proud of your heritage/faith?
Isaiah 41:8-9,
Isaiah 44:1,
Isaiah 44:21,
Isaiah 45:4,
Isaiah 48:20,
Isaiah 49:3,
According to this widespread rabbinic opinion, Isaiah 53 contains a deeply moving narrative which world leaders will cry aloud in the messianic age.
David sinned, he was attacked or pursued by people who wanted to do him harm because of his sin and yet God still forgave him
all of us must do our part to expose this idolatrous false religion for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ....
There is nothing more antithetical to the practice of human sacrifice then the virtue of self-sacrifice. One is killing another for yourself, the other is giving your life to save another. A clear distinction between evil and good.
The minute the Rabbis opened his mouth he was full of Pride God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble
The letter killeth the spirit giveth life. When Peter preached on Pentecost the crowd heard it from the languages of their respective countries outside Jerusalem.
I could not listen to that rabbi
When did this debate happen?
Wow...what a lost man. Isaiah 53:10 "...when thou shalt make 👉 his soul 👈 " an offering" for sin..." v11 "...shall my righteous servant "justify" many; for 👉 He 👈 shall bear their iniquities." Lastly v12 "...he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." He's Soo completely blinded. But Soo was l until God the Holy Spirit birthed me into the Kingdom. I am a Reformed Believer like Dr. White...John 6:37 "And all that the Father gives me will come to me..." The Holy Spirit really must come open the eyes....Great Job Dr. Brown....📖🌷
Horrible debate structure where is the cross examination that is crucial when interacting with the opposing side there was no interaction amongst one another only preaching
A rabbi just claimed that there are no sacrificial lambs that cleanse you from your sins, did he even read the torah?!
Brown brilliantly shows time and time again that the answer is and has been in plain sight for a long time, you just need to read the scriptures, that's it
Listening to Rabbis in debates makes the reality of how Israel is blinded much more real.
You can say that again.
That's why so many conversions occurred when the Church had Jews debate. Great new book, "If You Believed Moses", by Fr. Mawdsley.
Jajajaja how funny are christians
How is Israel blinded? Please elaborate curious minds want to know, thank you
Your own Bible affirms Israel’s blindness. It’s not us saying it; it’s your own GOD saying it!
Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them." But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
When was this talk actually held?
UA-cam testimonies, regarding Messiah.... One For Israel
I was raised in a cult that said it’s wrong to leave and turned us against other denominations, so it’s kind of easy to spot that some things the Rabbi brings up are aimed at his Jewish audience to remind them why they should never consider Christianity.
Almost 1 with the Father. Talk about adding to scripture, Rabbi
Rabbi Shmuley wants Dr. Brown to take “his words back” perhaps he should ask Prophet Zechariah to do the same as he prophesied in Chapter 11 of the Carnage and destruction that would happen do to rejection of *The TRUE SHEPHERD*
👏🗣️
“You are the promised one of Israel, The Messiah” Peter
“You didn’t figure that out on your own, it was revealed to you from your Heavenly Father” Jesus
Rabbi is just like I was, lost and unable to believe without the Spirit revealing it.
I knew he led Dr. Brown into making that comment that the Jews didn’t accept the atonement. But Dr. Brown didn’t “say” their were consequences, the Rabbi did.
1:00:00 you can clearly see Schmule planning his pathetic incendiary emotional reply. Pathetic, he was clearly defeated
Rabbi Boteach’s responded excellently.
Encourage you all to truly listen to what he had to say.
49:17 same😅
Yes jesus predicted.that titus would destroy the temple. Jesus told them
No question, Jesus died for my sins. I know because HE saved me and I was born again. I became brand new. "Few there be that find it."
God bless the Jewish people
God bless Israel
Brothers you are so close but yet so far
Is it me or was Shmuley most of the time appealing to our emotions more that to the text?
I pray for Rabbi Shmuley's soul. May He encounter the Lord Jesus before it's too late. He reads Scripture according to the flesh, sees only according to natural Israel. A blind Nat trying to lead the blind. His faith is void of the Spirit. Only God is eternal. He continues the traditions of his fathers in rejecting the only One who can atone for sin. This is why we pray for Israel. Lord, help them! For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15)
Salvation Is A Free Gift From The Lord God Yahweh And His Son Jesus Christ Who Died For The Sins Of The Whole World..
Man made Tradition nor Religion Cannot Save You.
Only Through Faith In The Finished Work Of Christ On The Cross And His Resurrection Can Man Become Forgiven And Be Born Again.
Thank You Father God For Sending Jesus Christ Your Son To Atone For Our Sins And Reconcile The World To The Father.
You can't Worship Yahweh Without Acknowledging And Believing On His Son Jesus Christ.
To God 🙏 Be The Glory
Imagine telling people ethics came from a god that endorses slavery.
What year was this?
In Christian texts it says:
"By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
Hebrew original says:
Correct Translation:
From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them.
Compare the two translations. The last word in the Hebrew is לָֽמוֹ which is pronounced "Lamoe". It is plural. The Christian text translats this word as "He" as in "For the Transgression of my people HE was punished". They translated a plural word in singular form. It should read "Because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell THEM".
This clearly demonstrates the servant is many people AFTER Chapter 49.
Verse 10 Christian translation:
Yet it was the L-rd’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the L-rd makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the L-rd will prosper in his hand.
Verse 10 Jewish translation:
And the L-rd wished to crush him, He made him ill; if his soul admits guilt, he shall see children, he shall prolong his days, and G-d's purpose shall prosper in his hand.
The Hebrew says:
This says "if his soul admits guilt" The Hebrew word here is pronounced Asham which means guilt.
Isaiah 55:7 states:
The wicked shall give up his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts, and he shall return to the L-rd, Who shall have mercy upon him, and to our G-d, for He will FREELY PARDON.
iSAIAH 55:7 makes it quite clear no sin sacrifice is required at all!!!
Shalom!
Boteach is just hard hearted and unforgiving. So sad. Pray for his blindness. 😐🙏 (And he still believes in lampshades, soap?)
Ah! An eye for an eye, he says.
