I'd much rather have long wait times between releases and fewer games than the franchises pump out game after game and devolve into a messy slop like Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty.
@@comradecatbug5289 I'm not talking about having a release every year. But when a franchise hasn't released a game for itself in more than 4-5 years, it's a little silly.
@@Kranitoko I get that and my point was that it may not be ideal but developing games quicker would carry the risk of shortening development cycles in the long run and I don't mind waiting if it gives me a sense of safety from that fate.
@@comradecatbug5289 the problem is publishers are sitting on franchises and doing nothing with them, yet are making millions and billions which could be used to fund them, either by one of their own companies or outsourced to another.
This is something a friend and I have discussed multiple times with Microsoft and their IPs. So many just sitting there being wasted. Halo at one point at least had a ton of games, books, comics, movie/show all coming out. But outside of that point in time and one IP? Nothing. And it sucks so much.
@@Caluben the problem is that these companies are all for profit. Making just a few million profit isn't viable, it has to be tens or hundreds of millions, and anything that diverts from what previously worked is seen as a huge risk.
so true dude blizzard really does underdeliver with the warcraft franchise. If they followed a similar path to riot, making small single player titles/fighting games/ ect they would quite literally revitalize the ip.
Weirdly I did hear yesterday they've opened a AA division to make smaller games based on their franchises, so here's hoping they now make good stuff and not just microtransaction hell games.
The wait for another Fallout is brutal. It's honestly insane how long BGS goes between franchise releases. The fact that the gap between Elder Scrolls V and VI will exceed 15 years kind of blows my mind...
I’m always surprised why developers don’t allow other studios to at least make a spin off. Nintendo does a pretty good job with it. There’s Hyrule and Fire Emblem warriors games. A fire emblem x smt game that doesn’t play like either lol. Numerous Mario turn based rpgs. Even Pokémon with arceus. These are generally fillers to keep the fan base satiated while mainline titles are worked on.
The best we got to a new Fallout game is Fallout London. One of the only ones that is getting it somewhat right, so that not to little and not to much, is Nintendo with Mario and Zelda. New games and remakes coming out very regularly
Honestly the only good thing they’ve done with the fallout IP was making a live-action show, everything else they’ve done with the series feels so complacent compared to other games.🐱
I have never been a Fallout fan, I've tried to get into fallout countless times but I always get bored which is weird considering I loved Outer Worlds and Starfield
Bethesda doesnt realize how much they are shooting themselves in the foot. They act so confidently that people would wait but heres the thing, fallout 5 most likely wont come out until mid 2030s, fans are getting old and after starfield it became very apparent that the hardcore stans are finally smelling the BS and walking away, or becoming skeptical, and everything points to their next releases wont be good, so wait how many years between releases for crappy games? No chance, and by the time of fallouts release, everyone will be older, including the younger gens that dont really care about bethesda and the company doing really nothing to bring those kids into the fold anyway. I guess will see though, but thats my prediction.
Pfft... 100% a Bethesda game is impossible if you become part of the modding community. Fallout 4 is still being made in 2024 and I have 4900 hours in its beta.

It's because they're lapping up money with Fallout 76 and TESO... Somehow.

plenty of innovation when it comes to "micro" transactions. Surprise mechanics!
