One of the tightest Ringo's parts. Really shows his unique ability to keep things almost concrete solid, but not overplaying and leave place for other instruments.
The tambourine is on the basic track with the drums. There are photos of the band in the studio taken 14 April 1966, the day after this session. There is one where we see Ringo's drums. You can see that there is a tambourine attached to a stand beside the ordinary set. Was Ringo playing drums AND tambourine? @@IsaacWale2004
I don't think George plays tambourine on the basic track, I think he plays guitar. I hear three guitars on the basic track of Paperback Writer: riff guitar, rhythm guitar and fill guitar. Listen to the Paperback Writer (Takes 1 & 2 / Backing Track) for example 2:50. During the riff, the rhythm guitar plays chords, then riff stops and rhythm guitar goes on. Higher fill guitar starts a bit later. Riff by Paul, rhythm by John and fill by George. 2:01-2:06 all three guitars are playing simultaneously (use playback speed 0.75).@@IsaacWale2004

Thank you for including the tambourine. I’ve see so many drum covers of this song where they leave it out. Good job !!!
Well, tbf, in their defence, it was recorded separately...

@@oldboy5652 No, I'm pretty sure George did the tambourine part (as Paul and John did guitar on that backing track)

Wow, that's awesome. It gives a great visual of how Ringo used the kit. Very well done.

Really enjoyed the view in this one as it helped to see exactly what you are doing. Great work as always. 👍
Great job!

Can't believe you worked in the tambourine too! In reality it was probably overdubbed. Wow!
Wow!!
As always The Best Batman !
Love it..But..i thought when I listened to the mono single the drums were much heavier. So this is a real eye (ear) opener. Thank you
