Have now gone far enough into my Playthrough that I can start watching Day9s! This DLC is SO MUCH Fun I hope Day9 is gonna have just as much fun as I am having!

men are frequently quite bad at finding the crit

I was convinced, absolutely convinced, that he was trolling and stretching it out for the meme of it. Then at the end he found it, now I don't know what to believe in.
@@DoctorWhoBlue that's not what was happening at all, and you can't target the crit spots directly in any other case anyways. He had it on his screen multiple times.
8:06 was my exact reaction as well, I just started laughing. The joy i felt seeing the landscape and realization that this is TRULY THE GAME
This playthrough is gonna be SO good
Two new QoL settings were added. One gives new items an ! so you can find them easily, the other gives you a recent item tab that shows you the most recent picked up item! So good!

I really appreciate Sean putting on Flame Fortification and then Flame, Grant Me Strength when they're both body buffs and he just cancels the fire negation. It really added to the journey with that furnace golem lol
My favorite was when he tried to buff and accidentally drank his Estus instead and never noticed
That’s literally the first time I’ve seen one of those bird warriors poise broken. Most people have said they have infinite poise. Day9 just casually does it first time he sees it. Use your guard counters folks. Also not taking damage seems to have an effect on poise kinda like Sekiro

Ghosts of Gravestones is truly peak Elden Ring design. When i played the base game first i was convinced it took place in some kind of afterlife (crossing the fog at the beginning being a metaphor for dying in the real world) since there were so many symbols for death (Gravestones/Graveyards/Catacombs/Undead) around, with the elden lord and Marika essentially being the equivalents of Greek mythology's Hades and Persephone. There's no real evidence for that view, but in my head canon i still believe it.
Amusingly, in this case I think Marika would be Hades.

Sean and new elden content, absolutely perfect ye 'ol tarnished.
Sean is the only presenter who actually make me laugh out loud.
The thing I enjoy the most with Day9 playing these games is the extremely prideful statement of "I'm gonna beat this" to immediately followed by him dying in a spectacular way and him crying "Why does this happen?" fills my heart with warmth.
I am so psyched to get more Day9 Elden Ring content

Yeah big shield and lots of stamina are really good for most of dlc
@@ProfAntidot i think he can even first try the final boss with that build haha. I did it with my 2nd char on a similar build
@@formatomi the soreseal and the low vigor are gonna be rough. This guy is going to get one shot by every boss if hes caught with the shield down
Oh yeah, great shields are so comfy. Very nice for reducing stress, almost to the point of ruining the game for me lol. It just isn't a Souls game if it doesn't get your blood pumping.

I’ve done two completions play through with maps and checklists and still somehow miss things.
I'm happy that Sean is enjoying Elden Ring, but I am devastated that he didn't finish the Warcraft 2 expansion campaign. Had to start my own WC2 playthrough to help cope.

I just wanna say I LOVE your clear statement of the back-seating policy. I don't if most viewers are young or simply lack the ability to imagine different points of view, but it is SHOCKING how many people offer advice unsolicited. Some very socially adjusted viewers to be sure.
Thank you for intending to play the game like this and helping to educate people on what is and isn't polite. You should always ask before you give away information about a game based on problem solving and exploring.

His issues getting off the horse are something I've noticed as well, it really seems like they messed with how the game interprets that button press. I used to be able to very consistently jump off of Torrent and get right into the action but this expansion has me clicking over and over trying to get off.

Due to assorted circumstances I ended up playing Nioh 2 instead of any souls games (first souls game was dark souls 2, didn't like forced PvP, wanted to play bloodborne on PC, it never released, so I just moved on to other soulslikes), and both Nioh games punish you extremely hard for running out of stamina. If you run out of stamina, there is a very high chance you'll get hit by an instant kill grapple from enemies (you can do the same to enemies too, if they are out of stamina). That kind of gave me this instinct to keep stamina at around half or more at all times, so I really enjoyed that design decision.
Nioh 2 also allows you to reactively block if you are in hitstun, so, there's less compulsion to keep your guard up. But, many attacks are outright unblockable, or instantly run you out of stamina if you block them, so you do have to learn those.

Jeeeeeeezuz Christ. Maximillian Dood had so much trouble with the blackgaol knight. Day9 just breezed right through.

I LOVE Eldenring ... but for me personally DS1 is regarding map the absolute PEAK of gaming. It's not openworld by any shape or form but it is so much interwoven and the thematics trasition so smoothly that it might as well be an open world. I still remember walking up this root thinking there must be a treasure up there just to find a wall ... hitting that illusinary wall revealing the chest (played offline as i didnt wanna get invaded) ... hitting the chest tocheck whether its a mimik ... finding a WHOLE new area. best gaming moment ever.
Did they do something to the Blackgoal Knight fight? I recall him constantly choking down health potions making that fight very long and annoying. In Sean's playthrough, he drank like twice.
You completely misremembering. Every single enemy in the main game or DLC that is capable to drink flasks can ever only drink one the next ones will be empty not health restoring attempts.
@@grimkhor hard to misremember their health going up multiple times in the fight but I take your point. This was the day the DLC hit so I don't know if I was just bugged or what. No other enemy has done that to me.
Took 5-10 tries to beat him (that was last week so pre-patch), and he only ever drank once per fight, just like npc invaders. He'll also, like invaders, try to drink a second time but the flask is empty.
You're misremembering he only drinks once and no the game wasn't bugged a couple days ago lmao.
@@ElectricGorilla85 I don't know what to tell you that is just not a thing and you're wrong. Maybe you have some unique game but in reality here every hostile NPC ever only has one drink including this since day 1. No clue about before release.

I just came from Asmongold beating the DLC with this exact build after getting stuck on it with all the other builds. I guess mad geniuses think alike
i love the elden ring aesthetic, but the interface is a catastrophe and some of the animations and the combat feels just so weak - it doesnt really feel like you are hitting an enemy or getting hit by one, it just feels like sponges touching each other, its a problem with all their games so far

5:08 People really overhype Siofra. It just wasn’t that cool. It’s more of the same: a relatively small area, copy and pasted enemies, and a boring zone where you just light some torches. The boss was the one cool thing and then they ruined that by doing the same lighting torches and same boss fight AGAIN!

I think you're missing his point, Siofra, the area, is all the things you mentioned, but he's talking about the initial discovery of it in the elevator ride. You don't know what you're stumbling into and in that regard it's very different from "more of same" versus Limgrave.
