With the difficulty, its obviously very build dependent, the build Sean is playing is probably one of the strongest builds to go into the DLC with. Greatshield and bullgoats set prevent all those one shots that other builds struggle with before getting a whole load of blessing levels. Also helps being an esports legend.
Yeah he definitely does have a great build, or I would say so if he didn't have such low vigor and the soreseal. Most builds even not using the greatshield and heavy armour would have 60 vigor right now, and having so many points in endurance definitely feels like a waste to me. Not saying it's wrong, as long he enjoys the build is absolutely fine, but in terms of efficiency it's very clear that it's not designed with statistical caps in mind. If I were to do this build I'd take maybe 10 points from both strength and endurance and put them in vigor, and that way it will be much more forgiving with one shots if he's caught with his shield down. Also the opaline bubbletear that increases defences would be amazing, it does like 15% increased defences for like 3 minutes which is an insanely long time and will cover most of if not a full boss fight, along with the faith tear to get him golden vow he would be 10X beefier than he already is, and with those he could make it from 40% damage resistances to like 70-80% with the buffs.
This isn't meant to be backseating by the way, this is simply meant as a small guide to people who may be having trouble with the DLC and want to build what Sean is doing more effectively, naturally do what you think is fun, this is just an idea for anyone who's having a hard time and wants ideas on a really good build based one what we see in these streams :D
@@Defnotdiablo Agreed! I've always felt soreseal is a trap past the early game, when you consider how much HP is in your flasks, reducing damage mitigation for a tiny increase to stats is a huuuuuge number of effective hitpoints for a very small gain at higher stat levels. I would personally swap out for lord of blood, curved sword or axe talismans for bigger damage gains and more mitigation, but Sean seems to be making it work!
I do think that a lot of stamina is important for this build, as you can poke from behind your shield, so more stamina basically makes you invincible.
Golden vow definitely feels like they want it to be mandatory now, given how many options you have to cast in now...
@@etherialaardvark9780 all these choices youre suggesting are great, the max stamina talisman can also be good since youre getting maximum efficiency out of it at high stamina, and you can also fit in magic shield if you wanted to, though i dont think its necessary, i just like talking about elden ring builds lol...
but yeah golden vow feels so necessary in early dlc if youre not doing this kind of build, but its just so consistent that theres no reason NOT to have it when you can have it at 15 faith with the tear and its just a free damage and defense boost for 60 seconds. Luckily though there is a lot of really cool builds in elden ring and with so many weapons and spells and items you have just hundreds of options, it's one of my favourite parts of elden ring
@@Defnotdiablo I agree! I'm a little less enthusiastic about Shadow of the Erdtree, although I really enjoyed my first run. I enjoy playing with lots of builds, but having all that fragment busywork on seven characters so they don't hit like a wet noodle and get one-shotted constantly is a bit meh.

No one brews tea in a pot man. Boiled water is clean so you boil water in a kettle and pour it over a bag in a cup. Most English people I know do it this way.
@@bobbrossify sure but then why bother with a teapot? tea needs to be made with boiling water. If you preboil it and store it in a teapot it's hot water and that effects the taste of the tea. Either make it where you boil the water in the mug with a bag of brew it properly in a pot. What Day9 is doing here will just result in a bad cuppa.
@@RMHutchings you can just turn the heat back on for a few minutes when you want another cup of tea. water boils very quickly and doesn't go bad after you boil it once, twice or even three times. then simply pour the now-boiling water into the cup with a teabag in it.
@@thomascheckie2394 Sure, that's why the kettle exists but a teapot just makes that more difficult and will waste more energy.

Ive played Elden Ring for over 450 hours and I never knew about the holding up or down thing to re-cycle your spells/quick items lol
You can also hold triangle to see the extra items
It still surprises me that Sean didnt beat Dragonlord Plasidusax. Its one of my favorite designs Fromsoftware has ever done for a boss and honestly a stunning fight. I hope he comes back to him one day.
There is no such thing as closure. Even if the person gave you every answer you asked for, you'll never know how many of them were true. And often the truth will just hurt more.
And also... no one needs a reason to break up. You shouldn't want to be in a relationship where only one of you is enthusiastically in it.

The Lion Dancer really is one of the most beautiful boss fights.
This isn't a spoiler because it's about the base game: there are a few Incantation Seals that have zero weight. And some are just lying around in the game world.
He already has one too, the dragon one.
Re: Difficulty, I think a lot of it probably hinges on level requirement. The DLC is seemingly designed for level 150 characters on NG, so, if you did a NG+ but aren't that far into it, or, if you started a new character just for the DLC, you are very likely to run into a wall. People who are complaining about it may be complaining about it because they're just genuinely stat-deficient, due to how the DLC is actually tuned. The in-DLC leveling system was supposed to counteract potential issues, but it may not have worked as well as Fromsoft expected. Hence, why their response was increasing the impact of that system!

My development as a programmer over the course of, idk, a year, has been "Wow, this is so cool, I love making things happen", and then "Alright, I should study principles to make everything interconnected and stuff" almost immediately into "holy shit I hate reading stuff written by programmers this is SO boring and frustrating" until eventually settling on "Okay, I'll just write code that works, and as long as it's not too intertwined with other code, it will be easy to make it extensible if I eventually need to do that."

When you check out the weapons, check out the weapon arts specifically, a lot of them get unique weapon arts and that’s what really sets them apart. That great sword you looked at in the beginning has a great weapon art and follow up attack, just swinging it around doesn’t do it justice.

Well he's also in almost the strongest build you can have for the DLC. Just hide behind a shield with high poise and poise break bosses.

This whole lion fight he rolled maybe twice, and the rest of the time he was hiding behind the shield and poking until bleed procs. Zero skill here. People who say it's challenging are playing with builds that require them to actually be decent at the game.
@@JL-random-characters if there are 50+ possible builds in an RPG that require "zero skill," as you put it, a rational mind would consider that the RPG is simply a rather easy one. I have neither the fingers nor the toes necessary to count the amount of different builds that Elden Ring gatekeepers will call "no-skill." Buddy, the game is simply not hard.
