A short (and a little emotional) story about getting my C5: I really wanted a C5 because my dad always wanted one. He was a diehard Corvette Enthusiast who never got to buy one because he took care of me and my younger sibling. He ended up passing away when I was just 10 years old in a freak accident and never got to own a C5. His 70’ C3 (he bought as a teenager) was sold to a collector who has refused to sell it back. All I got was his C4/C5 corvette shirts, and posters. I waited and saved for years in hopes to buying a vehicle as impractical and as beautiful as a C5. Well, now im in my early 20s and I finally bought a very nice low mile C5 in a spec similar to the posters I have all over my wall. Its surreal. The night I made up my mind to pull the trigger on a C5, I broke down and cried. Every time I drive it I think about him in the back of my mind and know that if he was here, he would be just as much of a fanboy about it as I am.
I bought a c5 because of your videos, ended up with the same color and everything. I’m 19 so it was a pretty big deal for me. My mom passed away in July and this year has just been rough for me but your videos help me focus on the good. Keep it up!

Once you drive a Corvette, it changes your life! I love my C5, Would not trade it for anything in the world or any woman. NOTHING has made me more happy in life than that car
The C5 was an instant classic when it debuted a quarter century ago. It possessed a perfect blend of Corvette's unique styling heritage with some of the most cutting edge performance available - all in an automobile that embodied timeless, understated elegance, finesse, and class. Today, 25 years later, with its incredibly low hood line and swept back windshield, the C5 is still one of the most aerodynamic Corvettes ever made. And unlike Corvettes that came before it and after it, the C5 actually had plenty of interior space to accommodate taller/larger occupants. But most importantly, it was the last Corvette with popup headlights - in other words, it was the last REAL Corvette. Many thanks for your always entertaining and often informative channel. I look forward to every new episode/adventure!
It's not an old man car. Older guys just can afford it easier than a 21 year old. You don't buy a good sportscar with your earnings from working at Dunkin donuts.😢
@@quo1k most people age 16-21 depend on their parents to buy them their first car because they only can work part time hours earning peanuts until they graduate and get their first job. Just discovered your channel a few weeks ago, great stuff! I share many of your sentiments - In 2004, I bought a 1999 FRC in pewter metallic. It's sitting 20 feet away from me right now. Heads, cam, exhaust, etc and over 80K miles later, it still pulls like a freight train and makes me smile every time I turn the key. Cheers brother and keep up the great work on your content.
I watched your first C5 video back when I was "thinking about" changing my C4 for a C5. Well, I've had my 2001 C5 for almost 3 years now, and I'm sure you were in the back of my mind when the 'right' car popped up for sale. I don't make videos of my car - my 'spare time' disappears writing thrillers - but I have very much enjoyed a great many of your videos. Thank you.
I've been looking to buy a C5 myself, and this was just inspirational. I've chosen the C5 for the same reason as you. Nice C6s are a bit out of my price range, and C4s are too old for me.
I subscribed to your channel last year when I had my C5, but just recently sold it for a 2008 C6, so I've been watching mainly C6 content lately. But going back, I really still enjoy your channel and like the looks of your C5.
Great channel, always look forward to your videos. Only waited 40 years longer than you did to buy my first Corvette. Wish I had done it sooner. Good luck, moving forward, and hope you get to 5Ok soon.
I picked up my spiral grey C5 in 2021 and shortly after discovered your channel since I was searching for so many C5 vids. I pined for a C5 for years and never though I'd find one or that I would be able to sell my 350z for enough to go towards one. No regrets. It's such a great car and plan to keep mine forever.
I gotta say that I love your channel and videos. Your approach and self-deprecating humor are always entertaining and informative. Thank you for sticking with it and helping me with my C5!
I have a 2002 with 48,000 miles on it. The more I drive it the more I love it. Style and fast it keeps me young. I live in Maine not too far from you, I would like to meet you and have you try it out. Let me know if you would like
I have a 2002 convertible with 45,000 miles I’ve owned it for 3 years and love it more each time I drive it. It’s the best invention since toilet paper. I live in Maine not too far from you. Mine stays inside for the winter along with my 1999 Miata. If I knew where you lived I’d love to come down and meet you.
I love it dude! I bought a C6 Corvette four years ago largely influenced from your video specifically from the flat around corners part as I was afraid of the long nose front engine handling capabilities. You were so right the car handles great and I love it.
2001...a fantastic version of the iconic Corvette sports car. I've owned many since the series 2 I bought new in 1963. They are great cars, but I have a special affinity for the 2001 model. Don't sell it Jake, I made the mistake of selling mine. I think it was the best Corvette I ever owned...including the C6 I bought new in 2011.
I enjoy your channel with your projects and humor. You’re a much better editor than you give yourself credit for. I bought an ‘04 a few years ago, and your content became a favorite. Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving 🦃
My mother got a 1999 Black C5 in 2004 for her 25th wedding anniversary. I was a senior in high school, and you were just a baby!! She let me drive it a lot. Mom had that vette for 11 years. Now that dad is gone, I really want to find another black c5. Its a nostalgia thing for me. It was a great car. As reliable as anything else we have ever owned.
I bought my c5 off a friend at a good price ive always had mustangs and wasnt a chevy fan but now I've owned it for a little over a year and love it!! Thanks for the videos
C4s do NOT look dated!!! They look like a dream come true. C5s are nice too (they look like C4s with rounded edges to me) and they do still have flip up lights. Love your vids - in spite of your disparaging remarks about my favorite Corvette.
I had a C4 (got totaled at a stop light when a kid wasn’t paying attention and rear ended me). I now have a C5 now and I love it. I think it’s funny that we are the same when we still drive it in the winter. I live in Alaska. Kudos to you and your channel. I paid a bit more than your interpretation for my C5, but it only had 10k miles on it (2001 LS1). Putting a Borla S type quad tip exhaust on it this week.
Don’t worry kid you are doing a great job ! Love the videos takes me back 20years great platform.. I live in jersey and I’m looking for one my self to get back to the fountain of youth lol😂
I resonate with this video a lot bro. Always been a fan of the channel and your c5. It’s what made me get one funny enough. I was 21 at the time and mine is also pewter. Will be 3 years in May! Wouldn’t have started my channel if it wasn’t for you. Keep it up!
Great video. Like yourself. My C5 checked all the boxes. My 2004 Base Coupe….LS1, Targa Top (coupe or convertible),last year for any American made car with pop up headlights, fantastic handling, great sound, and room for groceries in the back. The list could go on but I will stop here. To say I love my C5….. would be an understatement. Keep the videos rolling my friend. Great job. 👍👍
I'm a Honda fan guy, for reliability and daily needs. But My C6 Z06 puts a mile wide grin on my face and has been very trustworthy, with head(s) change. Vette's are generally great vehicles. Cheers from Canada :-) You my friend have been bitten, lol.
I'm a chick, lol! I've got a 1997 C5 Z06. I get my tires tomorrow. I'm so grateful for your videos, I've learned so much. It's my dad's who passed the car has been in the garage for over 10 years. So it's been a journey getting his car back on the road, I'm nervous & excited. Thank you for your videos!
Your videos were a huge influence on choosing to get the corvette, both from your age (I am a similar age) and being able to fit at your height (not sure how tall you are, but you seem pretty tall and I am 6'5). Glad to see both your car and your channel grow as much as it has, and I hope that you can continue making tons of great videos and growing more and more in the years to come.
got mine in march 2020 just before cov19 was a thing in the US she's been my daily driver ever since all year all every year since i got her, and i think iv been following you since some time later that year
That’s why I ended up with a c5. It checks every box even if you’re a jdm head. You get one of the most legendary engines LS, rx7 ish styling, round tails reminiscent of a gtr. Then on top of all that you get a 50/50 weight distribution, a t56 trans and modern features like dual climate and heads-up displays. The list goes on but they are just to good lol
Hope you keep the videos coming - I've enjoyed them the past few years and stumbled into your channel around the time I bought my C5 in 2021. I hope you continue your videos and will honk if I see your C5 next time I travel through New England!
Great video and great car. I had one pretty much identical to yours. It was a 2002 coupe in the pewter color. Sold it in 2011 to buy the typical grand parents car, a Buick La Crosse. A number a years latter got the bug to find and buy another Corvette. Just like you, C6's a little to expensive and C7's were way out of my budget. So I looked for another C5. I ended up buying a 2002 C5 Z06 in mint condition in Torch Red. Still have the car and having a blast with it. Sorry for you guys in the north east area, I live in California and can pretty much drive the car all year around. Keep up the good work on your videos, I really enjoy them. Oh, enjoyed your SEMA video, looked like a lot of fun.
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈 Seeing your videos is part of the reason I bought a C5 as well. They are wonderful cars and a lot of fun. Enjoy the winter ❄️ drives. 😅😮😊
58 year old here with a 98 C5. Living in Toronto you need a winter car and at least a 2 car garage. You can’t afford that when you’re 30 unless you come from means. Anyway, love my car and one more thing, the top is always down, if it ain’t sunny she sits
Thank you! You've inspired me to take my current channel in the direction I originally wanted and revisit my idea of creating a build series channel. I'm a ASE Master Technician and future GRIDLIFE StreetMod champion so a series about building the car for Gridlife seems good with elements of your style and Jackie Ding's I believe I can make it work. If only I looked good on camera, I'm sure that goes a long way towards viewership.
Hi, love the channel. You were one of first vids I watched and subscribed to after getting my 02 convertible last year. I was amazed at the C5. Did the lights upgrade, infotainment and a number of other small tweaks. Car is speced nicely and had Borla catback exhaust. I’m toying with degree of upgrade - full on blown with long tubes vs cam, headers, maybe rear gears. Either way a big investment and I have very limited space and no equipment to get the car in the air. Anyway, keep up the great vids - both neophytes and long time owners can benefit from them!
Well you got me watching your channel honestly the vet was the best part for me since I have one but your other stuff is pretty cool as well and I feel as though you're kind of local since I live right next door in Massachusetts so I enjoy seeing videos of areas I am familiar with keep up the good work and the cool videos coming and I'll be here watching 👍p.s. the only thing I would recommend is you interact more with the comments and respond back to people but yeah keep it up this is a cool video as well
Well you have spread all the way up to the north of Sweden 🇸🇪 also! Great content 👍🏽from one old fart you inspired to by a C5 and make content as a kick in a boring carpenter work 😉 My C5 sits just in front of me every day here at my work 😁
The Corvette: the chariot of the modern-day king... or at least the middle-aged squire. This machine has everything a car lover could dream of: the roar of the engine, the sleek design, and a whole lot of "vroom vroom." It's practically a superhero in car form-minus the cape, but definitely with the power. And let's not forget, it's easy to work on. Whether you're bolting in cheap Chinese knock-offs or splurging on top-shelf bespoke parts, you're in for a good time under the hood. Now, onto the real talk. As an “experienced” gentleman (a.k.a. “old guy”), it's time to debunk the myths. Ever see an old guy behind the wheel of a Corvette and thought, "Mid-life crisis much?" Well, think again, my friend. Here's the saga: Once upon a time, in a land of floppy disks and shoulder pads, we were young and cool (at least we thought so). We wanted the rad cars, but life had other plans. We navigated the treacherous waters of college, landed jobs (and paid for college), tied the knot, got a mortgage, and discovered the mystical realm of household goods. We climbed the job ladder from miserable gig to slightly less miserable gig. We had kids, raised them, and shipped them off to college. After years of blood, sweat, and tears-and maybe a few too many coffee spills-we finally made it. And guess what? We finally, finally bought that dream car we longed for in our better-looking days. So when you see an old guy cruising in a cool car, it's not a crisis-it's a celebration, a victory lap, a dream fulfilled. So next time you see us rolling by, give a nod of respect. We've earned this joyride
Im 22, ive wanted a corvette c5/c6 for years and now I can finally afford one. My only issue is I have a 1 year old son. I do have a 4 door sedan that i use for driving my son and girlfriend around but I used to have a mustang and I just miss driving something a little more exciting. Id still love a vette but i think i might just end up getting a GTO so I can still drive my family around

Thank you.
I was lucky enough to find a 1998 C5 convertible garage queen. As sports cars go... the Corvette offers a lot of bang for the buck. Congratulations.
Through the process of purchasing my c5 i was watching all of your videos to hype me up. Love the videos man keep up the good work !
It's been fun watching you grow up, even before your UA-cam adventure. :)
Awesome to see the channel growth, you deserve it. One day we shall have a Corvette meet. Respect
Congratulations on the growing success of your channel.
Love this! I remember watching when you got it. LFG!!!
Let me know if you would like
You're a good narrator with a side of humor. Love your C5! Also Love my 04' Magnetic red C5🏁⚜️🇺🇸
I'm about to buy my c4 corvette dec 7th it's so close thank you for being such an inspiration ❤
Been following you since the start. Keep up the good work!
I bought my 2000 C5 3 years ago & took it cross country with my son. What a blast, that car just chewed up the road & spit it out !
I bought my c5 off a friend at a good price ive always had mustangs and wasnt a chevy fan but now I've owned it for a little over a year and love it!! Thanks for the videos
I have been enjoying your videos for the last few years. I have a 98 C5 as well. Keep up the good work!
Great job. 👍👍
Thank you for your videos!! ❤
Jake nice job my man happy thanksgiving sir hope you have a great day with the family brother.
Love you brother!
Love you too brotha!
I just picked up a clean 47k miles black c5 manual non convertible and I’m so excited, already got a corsa quad exhaust 😮
How much if you don't mind me asking?
@@KingSalami407 I bought my black 2002 C5 base MN6 (T-56 and 3.42s) with 39K miles in WI for $18K, July 2023. Let's see how this datapoint ages! 😂
@@lucky1169 2002 red base 6mt. 88k miles. 10.5k bad harmonic balancer
@@lucky1169 I think that will age well!
Love your channel!
got mine in march 2020 just before cov19 was a thing in the US she's been my daily driver ever since all year all every year since i got her, and i think iv been following you since some time later that year
That’s why I ended up with a c5.
Great back story man.. Real car guy stuff here!
Great content. You easy to listen too. Thank you.
TJ - best Jeep generation ever!
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈
Seeing your videos is part of the reason I bought a C5 as well. They are wonderful cars and a lot of fun. Enjoy the winter ❄️ drives. 😅😮😊
Amen to this man right here, im 15 and im looking at a c5 becuase you, thank you for everything
Thanks for your vids. They inspired and helped me a great deal making upgrades to my Dad’s C5.
I did my C6 exhaust tips like a C7 I see your C5 is the same..I think it looks cool I get alot of compliments on it.and it sounds badass
Fantastic video, man.
As a fellow granite stater.
Keep up the awesome work, man.
Always enjoy your content.... Vettes are just cool cars! I've got a C6 and love it!
Just bought 2001 corvette
58 year old here with a 98 C5. Living in Toronto you need a winter car and at least a 2 car garage. You can’t afford that when you’re 30 unless you come from means. Anyway, love my car and one more thing, the top is always down, if it ain’t sunny she sits
hey man this channel has inspired me so much and i loved to hear your story
Great content 👍🏽from one old fart you inspired to by a C5 and make content as a kick in a boring carpenter work 😉
My C5 sits just in front of me every day here at my work 😁
Keep up the cool content, you do an amazing job :)
Here's the saga:
Once upon a time, in a land of floppy disks and shoulder pads, we were young and cool (at least we thought so).
Buying a Corvette at 20 or 21 is an experience
Got a 84 & 04 luv em both!!!!!!
Hey youtube algorithm brought me here. Great story! Congrats! Subbed! Happy New Year! 🏁🏁🏁
Congratulations! I enjoy your channel/content. I have a 2008 C6 LS3. If you are ever down in the Hartford,CT area hit me up!
Continued good luck with your channel!
