I learned a lot making this video; essentially, I went from being a person who knew nothing about technical Touhou to an absolute nerd who obsessives over technical aspects of a specific game. Thank you RB and Rebor for staying until the end helping on the script, especially considering my annoying bs lmao.
I'm not too proud of how some aspects turned out, but I consider this to be my final 2022 gift from past Suwawako, and what a good gift to receive.
Hopefully this is on par with Asprey's progression video (Perfect Cherry Blossom), because you damn know well that my previous attempt was a downright disaster. I promised I'll make more accurate videos, and here we are.
I'll probably focus on the PC98 games or Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (again) if I am to make another world record progression, we'll see...

Out of the games I was around for when it was new, this game was by far the most interesting to follow and got to see firsthand how routes developed. For 2 years Sanae was considered the best for scoring and even for a while 3 billion was considered impossible. After HUF and RB started working together the game was blown open and Reisen was not only the best shot, but scores went far above 3 billion. And today 3 billion has even been achieved on Normal!
As a sidenote as I don't think the video mentioned it, when Reisen has shields up to increase the grazebox, lasers also give alot more graze than normal, which is a big reason why Reisen ended up scoring way more than expected. Old routes didn't capitalize as much on the strengths of Reisen's bomb.
I have to say, this is your best world record progression video yet. I'm so glad it turned out as good as it did, LoLK is one of the most deserving games of having one of these videos.
This is why I love the rabbit. Although pity the world cup stopped Lunatic scoring for LoLK this year. I was looking forward to that category :(

Hey: did you know that when getting to the end of stage 4; there’s a 1/10 chance that Clownpeice Shows Up, says “Goodbye Reisen Undonge Inaba of Eientei” and then force chokes the player out of all their remaining lives while the background shows a montage of people dying to Clownpeice lasting for the entire duration of 1 loop of Pierrot Of The Star Spangled Banner. And then afterwards the narrator says “Poor Reisen; Clownpeice Shows No Mercy”.

If grazing is so important, couldn't they just time out most spells for more grazing?
Some spells are very risky to graze out while others (like Junko's timeout) are just not worth it as the spell bonus is better to aim for than grazes. Also something about routing, keeping certain lives and bomb amounts for specific sections is important too
Yeah, they'll usually time down as many patterns as they can. For example, Heron should be mostly timed down, just barely getting the kill for the chapter bonus. Whenever a boss pattern is easy to survive and gives a lot of graze, you'll definitely see players timing it down. But a lot of patterns are just really difficult to survive, and don't give enough graze to be justified.
