If you're open for recommendations: Maybe paint horns and claws in different colours than the skin. It adds some nice contrast and looks more realistic. Especially on Be'lakor its very noticable.
It's a serious video about an activity you enjoyed doing, but still had enough time to make me laugh out loud multiple time. Both this and the Starcraft video has been a joy to watch, glad you're back : ^)
Still greatly enjoy your content from your transition away from League into 40k and modelling, quality as always! You being passionate about your videos always makes your stuff so great and it's always an improvement to my day to see anything that you've posted.
Matt: Makes a half hour video about painting and how to thin stuff so it doesn't fuck up his airbursh. Me: Literally painting a Khorne Lord of Skulls completely with normal paintbrushes, no airbrush, mostly drybrushing only with citadel paints. All while watching Matt really putting in a lot of effort.
I can relate to this so much, thanks for the content. You introduced me to warhammer 40k 2 years ago and finally this year I started my warhammer 40k journey with the Orks. So far loving every bit of it. All I want say is thanks for the content and everything you do within dicecheck. Looking forward to more content. Much love from 🏴🇵🇭
I’m glad you’re doing what you’re interested in for your videos Matt. Been watching you over the years and it’s great to see you branch out and grow into content that you actually enjoy. Keep up the great work man!
Damn, I really wish you will get all the attention you deserve with your complete switch of content. Please, don't let anything discourage you. You're great!
I haven't tried playing warhammer yet but I still enjoy watching all of your videos about it. Maybe because it shows in your videos the enthusiasm on what you do. Kudos to you Matt for another great content. And as always, I look forward to your next video. ✌
Thanks for all the hard work. Pumping out these edits, the model painting, staying consistent on dicecheck streams, it's a lot. You've opened up a venue of sanity for a lot of us.
This was a ton of good information and you have one of the most "genuinely hilarious without being grating" presentation styles I've ever seen. Thank you.
Hype to see more painting from you. Got into miniature painting this year and I gotta say, the hobby has been daunting but the community is so encouraging!
Seeing how much you have to do and then the added set backs that come up I just want to say thank you for your hard work! You’re the reason I finally got into this hobby!
Love those kind of videos. Love your energy and all. You and the whole team on the other channel are just people who enjoy the hobby and play, and have fun. So much content for competition and super serious things i really got tired but i must say i love what you do and just... keep it on. Thank you!
I like that this is highlighting the techniques you've studied and practiced, this is a great way to show that if a person puts in effort and study we can all be good at our hobbies
one thing i have noticed from matt that in his old unboxing an old league content if face revealed that he had really dark eye spots from i guess staying up late and editing videos now can hardly notice them now witch is good news
more of this please! Happy to watch whatever you throw out here, but as a 40k enthusiasts I'm specifically excited for this type of content. Great work as always, and catch ya later.
Long time viewer and can confidently say this video is one of my favorites of yours, it's such a fun one. Hope to see more Warhammer videos- you got me into the hobby, notably from seeing how much fun you were having lol
I just recently picked up Infinity by Corvus Belli and started painting. It's definitely a tough journey but it's so much fun and can be very relaxing. Glad you're back and I'm glad that I now know about Dice Check. :) Hope you're happy man.
Dope mang... I'm glad you had fun even though you were under a lot of pressure and time crunch ... as your previous vid explained .. finding your personal joy is much more important..
I loved this video! Got into painting a few years ago and havent found airbrushing to be really accessible so this video really helped me see someone actually use and talk about why they used specific paints or tools. Already put together a $450 wish list xD
I'm so glad I can look at your content again after you're gone for so long, but you have to look at your health first and foremost, great that you found yourself in your content, kkep it up my guy!!!!
Its still super wild every time I hear matt talking about any of the long war guys, I havent played 40k in the past couple of years but guys like rob and kenny were always house staples at our local tournaments. great dudes to play with
I always wanted to get into modeling when I was a kid, but I never had the money. . . . I still don't have the money, but now I can watch people do it on UA-cam. Thank you Matt 👌
Those are some pretty great board games 😄 and some pretty models too. Also happy to see a painting video on this model. It looked great on the table!! And it hurts to hear about the messed up Iwata Eclipses...I really like my Iwata Eclipse Also love your casual approach to all of these techniques (airbrushing, inks over underpainting, and oil washes). So often they're presented by super professional painters and come off as super intimidating, but I think you manage to make them feel approachable.
imo i like that second beast you did over the first one which xD is funny cause you put so much more time on the first one lol. amazing work bro cant wait for next one or an update on collection
I dont own a single mini but I watched the whole video and loved it. I like watching people do things they love to do I guess idk. Matt makes good videos
dont know if this is weird or not, but I just started the video and it makes me happy to see that you look like the bags under your eyes have lessened if not disappeared completely. just glad to see you looking well
Amazing video! I like that you use other kind of washes and inks, everyone uses citadel washes and paints but nobody uses enamel-oil washes and inks! Loved the results! Please more videos like these one.
I think the Lord of Change is cool as fuck, man. The transition are smooth as jazz and the colors bright as a rainbow after taking LSD. Love it. If there is just one thing I disagree a bit in the work, is the bases colors. Both of them were particularly similar to the models scheme, and so get lost, in my opinion. But is just preferences, the models are super nice, compliments!
Quick hack with the oils, base them in something poppy and bright, then dump oil paint all over it, then use a makeup sponge after 15 minutes and wipe away the still-wet paint. Instant highlights and darks. Great job on the models!
as a fellow "custom boi", (I custom gundams btw) this is very entertaining, informative, and comfortable to watch, been here since the spotlights man, keep up the great work ✨
Every time I see Matt post about Warhammer, it reminds me how much I REALLY want to get into it. But then I am quickly reality-checked by the absolute state of my finances and physical storage space, so instead, I cry a little more.
not to be an enabler but you can get into 40k easily through killteam - basically one squad of models is the whole game , so cheap and tiny space requirement
Matt is just so funny. Like, he is trying to be serious, but the bit about the background changing colors, and his comedic timming, are just too good. I know he will never be making league videos or spotlights, but every time he shows how funny he can be I cannot help but to think of those videos and how much they made me laugh.
I think that the models turned out beautiful! I know there's a lot of really crazy skilled painters in the Warhammer community but my guy you have become so full of knowledge and skill in such short time. The galactic effect on the staff especially got me. Now this is a youtube comment section so this part is obligatory. Wen Leage tho?
I am absolutely not in the W40K scene and to be honest I'm not really interested in it, but for some reason, I find so much entertainment and enjoyment in watching you talk about it and watching you paint those models. I laughed so hard on that little anime moan when you put on your gloves. Keep up the awesome work Matt! We love you!
I've always wanted to get into painting but didn't feel like spending money to experiment beforehand. Thx for doing it for us and sharing your conclusions :D
The hunie pop music at 9.55 just killed me xD Okay that aside these videos are good :D Keep it up :) That said they are also bad this one in particular, it just pushes me further, and further, and further... Towards and airbrush
You probably hear this a bunch, and I'm also guilty of this, but I think we should all stop putting ourselves down when it comes to painting skills. These look amazing, watching you improve over the last 2 years with your hobby has been inspiring, please keep it up :)
I loved this! Would like to see more if possible. I also love that model even if Kairos is better. People seem to paint these birbmen always so nicely. Personally I am a little bit hipster and therefor would have painted him red with yellows and greens like a parrot.

Here I am at 2am watching Matt explain how to pain't figures I can't afford with inks I can't drink.

oh man, I adore what you did with the color schemes! Stunning models and they filmed well for sure.
Something I kinda noticed. The color scheme he used is almost similar to the Bahamut in FF10.
