    BTW it does recognize your foot waving underneath it instantly. It has 'n few seconds delay so that you can step back and not get hit in the face by the tailgate.

      ***** +Kar Wai Wong +Liang Yan That's right - we endeavour to review the most popular and best-value models, the kinds of cars that will be most popular. You can spend £80k+ on an XC90, and Volvo would love to show off their range-topping model, but we reckon the Momentum spec will attract most buyers!

    Many are confused now when Volvo is owned by a Chinese company, some think that Volvos are built in china and stuff. But really, this Chinese company helps Volvo make fully Swedish cars, with no Ford parts. The other cars Volvo build now have Ford platforms, that's about to change, soon they will replace the V70/S80 with their Scalable Product Platform they recently designed.

    • @ImDembe
      @ImDembe 9 років тому +2

      ***** I bet the Chinese made Volvos are good to, Volvo have to train them and use the same materials so in the end it's gonna be fine i guess, the Chinese wont mind atleast and thats the main target, the Americans are a different story.

    I have a burning question. How does the 4wd on the the T8 work? Is there always 4wd all the time? Are the front wheels powered by the 2 liter upfront and the rear wheels powered by the 80hp electric motor in the rear? What happens when the electric motor runs out of charge? My understanding is that there is no mechanical linkage between the front and rear. So i am not clear on what happens when the electric motor runs out of charge

    I really like the XC90 as I could try it out already.
    Funny thing is, how people still complain about certain features and compare it to BMW, Mercedes etc. saying 'German' brands are still superior.
    I just don't understand it, because it simply is not true.
    I mean, I am German myself, but how can one be this stubborn?
    For example I've seen a test where the safety systems of certain brands were tested.
    Despite being compared to the newest cars from BMW, Mercedes, VW and Renault, the new Volvo XC90 was the only(!) car that managed to warn of an obstacle in front AND break in time to avoid a collision. The other cars as well saw the obstacle but could not avoid a collision.
    Grow out of your brand fetishism people...
    AND STOP FUCKING CRYING ABOUT THE ENGINES!

    I don't get why manufacturers insist on making big ass SUV's with tiny 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engines. They just can't cope with the bulk of the car. Put a 3.0 V6 diesel in it, this would make it a much better car and it would also not effect the fuel economy, because a bigger engine would be under much less stress.

      Firemarioflower In case you didn't realise, I wasn't bothered by your reply. If anything, I was condescending towards it. I can't take you seriously the longer I argue with you.
      And when did I ask for it?

      Firemarioflower That's not asking for anger-fuelled replies from people who think their opinion equals facts.

      ***** Please go to the Volvo website and build one for yourself so you can see. In order to get LED headlights you have to get the momentum package. Thanks for your info but I work at Parkway Volvo and my mom bought an XC90. Seems like you're wrong. :/

    Many large suv these days reminded me of jacked up minivans. I still prefer Land Rover and Jeep as proper true suvs.

    Why do they disable comments on sponsored videos?

    • @bitchslapper12
      @bitchslapper12 9 років тому +5

      Water Man Because if you actually pay for it you shouldn't have to deal with trolls. I can imagine Carbuyer's price plan having "No troll option" with disabled comments for just $499, lol.

      LOL. Thanks for the response. I can understand as to why people might feel indifferent towards a sponsored video. You do have to wonder if such tactics actually benefit or do more harm to a brand.

    If Ford had patented that foot wave to unlock the trunk feature, they would be rolling in money. Look how many companies copied them on that. Then the automatic rear folding seats with a push of a button that first appeared on the 2004 expedition, another they should have patented

    Gotta love Volvo designers. "We kept the same design for zillions of years, and when updating comes, we just change the lights, fascia, stick an Ipad in the dashboard and tell people we have changed totally the car. Now we can go back to sleep for other 12 years..."

      Sirion 4 cylindres are usually very bad choices in 3 row suvs, like the toyota highlander, if you get the 4 cylinder its very hard to live with around highways and hills.
      Because of this, most people expect a v6 at the least in a suv. The commenter above does not seem to realize that this suvs 4 cylinder is extremely high output and capable of over 400 hp from the factory before an aftermarket tune, this suv will have no issue keeping up with traffic.

      tavi921 No...my friend got a Volvo V40 XC with the 115hp engine and it feels nippy enough so i bet 230hp in this is enough.

      You might as well say it needs a 6.8 diesel. It has enough poke from the D5, even better from the 400hp T8 hybrid.
